Morning. Flag Day today. Day to fly Old Glory and also hold ceremonies to dispose of old and retired flags. This area is pretty heavy on flags. A lot of people have flagpoles in their yards or attached to houses, posts, etc. The beautiful thing is, the local Kiwanis club has a fund raiser every year n spring, where businesses can buy a set of 3x5 flags on 8 foot poles, then stick them in the ground along the roads in front of their business. It’s gotten more popular as tine goes on and it’s pretty neat driving down the main in roads isn town with the flags flying in the breeze. I’ll have to get a picture. Here on my road, there are 7 of us with flagpoles.

Sunny and 49° here. Low 70’s in forecast. The load of dirt arrived late yesterday afternoon, and although he was going to dump part of it in my yard part at my neighbors, I wound up with a majority of it. So he said he would just haul what he needed over to his place. I ordered 3 yards and he ordered 2. He wound up with about one. We were going to just leave it until today and then work on it, but while I was having supper, I decided to go out afterwards and do some of it because I had been waiting around all day yesterday for it to get here. He was going to leave at too, but I has to go to Traverse city today. So in the end, we were both out there digging dirt. I have two pull behind carts for my tractor so he used one and I used one. He borrows mine, sometimes when he needs it. We are always borrowing something between us, which works out really nice. So we put a pretty good size dent in that pile yesterday. Oh, I worked on it for a little over an hour. I got the area around my flag pole done , and then a few other places and have a couple piles here and there that I will spread out today and do a final light raking. Then will spread the remainder here and there. He has about all he needs, but I told him he can take some more if he wants.

Before I can start doing that, Molly has a vet appointment and that will take my morning. Need to get dressed and get myself going here as we have to leave in about a half an hour. So I’m going to wish you all a nice day and get going.

Good morning, been up for about an hour sipping coffee and perusing the internet. Not sure what I will do today as it is going to be cooler today 75 then up to 80 tomorrow. I did get my car washed yesterday and it is all nice and shiny again. Moved my bags of mulch off the carport and will start spreading it again after I trim my maple tree. I dont mind the trimming but since we have no place except our trash can to put the trimmings it makes it lots harder. I dont have much garbage this week so far so hopefully it will all fit, or at least most of it. I cut it up and bag it so makes the pile smaller LOL 54 out now so opened my doors and a few windows, love the fresh air.
Sharon hope your granddaughter is hanging in there. Burns are so awful to treat and painful. I feel badly for her, long road ahead I am afraid. Let us know how you and Buddy do with the training ha ha my friend has a Labradoodle, at 12 is still a bundle of energy, so hope Buddy settles down as he gets older. Lyn glad to hear you are all healed up and raring to go again. Anita I recently watched the Everwood series also, it was easy watching. I didnt binge watch just watched when not much else was on, but I did enjoy it. Sometimes I just want to watch a fairly mindless show without a "message" lol

Morning All, 70° , clear air and sunny. The wildfire smoke affected my breathing big time. I ended up going to urgent care and am now on prednisone, feeling much better. Karen, my suv was my mini pickup truck. I folded thr back seats down, laid a tarp and loaded yard waste on the tarp. Then drove to the local land fill, pulled the tarp out shook it and drove home. Just in case that is helpful. Wish I could help you and Sue, you know I love dirt. Lol. I haveeca small flag that I stick in a large flower pot. We always had Labs and I never found them to be hyper. Rock hated for my husband to take trips. When he came home and opened his suitcase, Rock-unpacked fir him. Of course that meant clothes were scattered all over the house. I’m still moving slow so no plans for the day. Be safe

Sheila, Medicare will definitely pay for trimming toenails and calluses on elderly people's feet. I believe they will pay every 6-8 weeks, so give them a call. I had trouble trimming my mother's toenails because they were so bent and warped, and it was too easy to cut her. The podiatrist used tiny grinders and did a terrific job with no pain to her or cutting her, as I had done a couple of times. We had no copay at all.

And regarding dog training, I spent hundreds of times when our schnauzer was a puppy training her to stay in her bed while we ate dinner. I found out recently that my job would have been a lot easier if my sons had not been sneaking her food under the table while I was not looking!!!!

I am on I-70 in Illinois, headed east to Ohio for the night. Lots of traffic, but a lot better than I-80 nearer Chicago!

Went to bed late and woke up early. Will probably go back to sleep for a bit. I need at least 7 hours of sleep to feel normal.

Had my bedroom window open all night. Even with no wind, my eyes feel gritty this morning .

Romeow and McKenzie are playing more and more now. She is getting much more comfortable with him and with me now. Sure keeps Romeow active! She plays so well by herself too! I love to watch her play with her toys! She has a lot of energy! They are playing hide and seek and tag right now!

I haven't seen nearly as much fur on the floor the past 2 mornings as before, which is good. I posted about her yesterday on a Cat Health FB page and a couple of people said it is possibly from the hormone changes from pregnancy and nursing, especially if she was already somewhat malnourished, which I am sure she was. One lady said a cat she rescued that had kittens pulled her fur out too, like that. She gave her some vitamin and mineral supplements which helped a lot.

Got some things done around here yesterday. Need to keep working on it, always more to do!

Goodness, I’ve lost track of time, already 12:30 here! Buddy came home yesterday and slipped right back into our routine such as it is! The trainer said he was definitely stubborn and challenging which I had said when I took him to her last week! Since she had never worked with a Halti before she tried other methods but agreed the Halti was what worked! He doesn’t like it over his nose but he does mind with it on. She even said she was going to have to get one to have on hand. He is better with his walking and sitting and a couple other things so I’m counting it as a win. We will have lessons here once a week and I’ll continue in between. Our Labradoodle was so laid back so this is my first experience with a hyper dog despite having owned dogs for many years! Everyone says he’ll settle by the time he’s 2 so I only have 14 months for that milestone! Not that I’m counting! I was worried he’d have trouble settling back into our quiet house compared to hers with kids and other dogs but he seems to be happy to be home as I’m happy to have him home. GD is holding her own right now. Has had surgeries about every other day and yesterday they were able to do the trach so she lost the other tubes and should be more comfortable. Karen, she does have a long road to recovery ahead of her. Right now she’s still under heavy sedation so she’s not having to deal with all that’s been happening to her. Although she is aware of her family being there.
We’ve had some much needed rain with some more today forecasted. Amazing how fast the grass is greening up. I may even need to mow at some point soon! Almost looking forward to it! It’s really cool and windy so I pulled out a sweatshirt this morning! It’s not raining now so think I’ll chance it and we’ll go for a little walk. Have a great day.

Only in the 70s but wind is really blowing. Had hoped to work at cleaning the Sling - got a start yesterday. No car tags have appeared. FedEx is messing with WalMart orders - haven't had that happen before. One package has been in Wenatchee for 2 days and the guy was even here yesterday! Supposedly today. Just discovered pair of pajamas is missing along with the robe. Going to be interesting to see where they show up!

Anita, I've had problems with FedEx with orders for a couple years. Whenever I see FedEx delivering I don't expect it on time and then are happy when it is.

Sharon, when I rescued Ty I knew he'd be a challenge of sorts. Most rescues are but since Ty's half (or more) Jack Russell terrier, I knew he'd be a handful. They are very smart dogs but also stubborn and remain like a puppy most of their lives. So while he was about 4 1/2 when I adopted him and he's now about 9 1/2, people always think he's a puppy. He keeps me on my toes. I'm glad to hear about your gd. I do worry about when she is weaned off some of the meds. It's going to be hard to accept what's happening to her. Luckily she has you and everyone else as such a great support system.

I'm trying to pretend I'm still in central time zone, so was awake at 5:30. I have always liked to relax in bed for a bit so did, but got up and was walking Ty shortly after 6. Temps are great then. So we got a mile in and stopped for him to remember the dog park. He was too busy smelling every inch of it to stop and play lol So I had to go pick up the balls I threw for him. Next time he'll probably be ready.

I did some work outside on the rig but not what I intended so that's still on my morning to do list. I moved everything from the RV fridge to the casita fridge. RV fridge is off and will get a good cleaning out. I always have to be careful not to buy too much and then it won't fit when everything is transferred back. It did mean my freezer got a good sorting and I will be cooking a bunch of meats for freezer meals while here. I also then did a load of laundry in my little washer. Had to make sure it's still working. Hung that out to dry and it's probably been dry. With the sun and dry air, probably was dry in 15 minutes lol. I've done lots of things around the casita, lots more left Now I feel like a nap, but can't do that if I want to keep to this schedule. Ty and I will have dinner around 4. Then because Arizona is on standard time, about 7 it should be nice for another walk.

Remind me to talk about my shower today another time, this is long enough. Lol

Yes for CJ Box. I have read all that I have found in my library. Well some were books and tape. The TV series is different in some ways but very enjoyable to be sure.

I'm very much enjoying the TV show. I discovered the books a couple years ago. Season 2 is on now. I never remember what night, but then play catch up.

I may have figured out the third stitch in the HDC found a video that I could follow pretty well so think I recognize the stitch will know when I get to that part of the hat... I also tried to make the flower it's not going to be hard since I'm doing the hat in a variegated yarn I want the flower to be in a solid color...and I think I have the right colors just need to dig down to the right bin... then comes the next stage that I can worry over that is of course the ending the sewing the brim up a bit and sewing the flower on...
talked to the gal I'm doing the baby afghan for and she says not to worry about doing a border that it will be ok... I tend to think it would look better with one but not going to argue with her... it's less for me to do... I want to finish it first then back to the finishing of the Swedish Weave... it will be sewing the ends of the yarn down and making the fringe then folding over the sides
we had a nice activity lots of people good food came home with about 4 slices of cake small pieces at that...it's a beautiful area... Cheryl remind me to take you up that way if you have time... red hills green grass at least right now and horses right up your alley

Another hot day. There was a heat advisory all across the southern part of the state. I went to Lafayette and my air conditioner in my car was having a hard time in the stop and go traffic. The TV weather report says we will have a heat index of 110 tomorrow. We really need some rain and there isn't much of a chance for the next week.

I have trouble with FedEx too. They insist on delivering things to the old house. If I get an email that something has been delivered I have to go searching for it. They just drop things anywhere on the old carport or at the front door. I have signs up telling them that isn't my address but they ignore the sign. UPS always gets it right.

I should cancel Directv because there is seldom anything I want to watch. I keep thinking about getting a smart TV to see if my internet is fast enough to use it.

I was letting Sugar out the back door tonight and Rascal came in with something. I don't know what he had but he dropped it and Sugar ate it. No wonder she is sick all the time.

My hair has been aggravating me this week. I looked to see when my last hair cut was and it was 6 weeks ago. I made an appointment for Friday before I start whacking on it myself.

Well, I decided to rename McKenzie. She is now Sophie! McKenzie just didn't fit her at all. She needed a softer, shorter, more feminine name. She is doing great! Not much new fur laying around. Both cats are playing together more and now some physical contact while playing but Romeow is still very gentle with her.

Here is a photo of Sophie playing with her favorite toy. Bought that for Romeow and he never liked it. Glad she does!



I finally got a call back from that clinic and I can't get in until September 6th! I wasn't expecting that! And it will be a phone appointment.

Barely a breeze tonight but gonna have my bedroom window open. Don't want to run the AC any more than I have to while it is still in the low 70's at night.

Not much else happening. Have a good night!

Martha you dont need to buy a new TV to see if you can stream. You can just buy a ROKU stick or FireStick, just need to make sure you have an HDMI port you can use. Much cheaper than a new TV. I love ROKU best because it is easy to use, I like the voice search, and the tv controls so I only need one remote to operate my tv. LOTS of videos on how to use and navigate the ROKU site. I used to have the Firestick but found I like the ROKU better.
