Thursdsy, May 1

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursdsy, May 1

Good morning all. Another beautiful sprig day is upon us here in Northern Michigan. Bit cloudy out there this morning, but will clear out and head into mid 7o’s. Currently it’s 51°. Yesterday was a gem of a day.

Karen, I’m surprised at your battery life too. Mine last a week like Beth said. I don’t want rechargeable either, because if they start to go down when I’m not where they can be charged. I carry a partial pack in my wallet all the time. I have a couple in my emergency go bag which I will change out periodically to keep them fresh. One word of advice, do not store batteries in your car. They can be affected by heat and cold both. It can ruin them or kill their battery life.

Martha, yes there are different outfits for different seasons, sports, activities etc.. I plan to change them out from time to time. I have to order the plans for some more. So far I have raincoats, and the Gardening buddies outfits outfits which were in the picture. 4th of July is on my order list as well as fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas, plus a few others in between. My plan is to leave them out at the entrance box till after New Years.

Shelia, not sure if your question about what I am planting referred to where my boy and girl are going or my flag pole flowerbed. Boy and girl are heading to our sub’s entrance raised flowerbed which will be planted with whatever gets put in there. My plan for the flagpole bed is, Asiatic Lily’s , Black-eyed Susan’s, Coneflowers, Shasta daises, Daylillies and Maybe a few annuals thrown in till the perennials get established. In fall I want to plant daffodil bulbs.

Had a bad accident involving one of the neighbors last night. They bought a new to them motorhome in FL this spring. For those who know MH’s, it’s a big Provost, looks to be about 40 footer. He has been working up by the roof doing something, using a long extension ladder which looked very dangerous. Last night he either fell fell from the ladder or it went out from under hm p, to their cement drive and suffered a bad head injury, from the information we have via two neighbors scanners at the moment. Had a mess of EMS, police, and two ambulances here. He was transported to our local hospital and then airlifted to Grand Rapids in southwest part of MI. Let’s just say he’s not well liked in the neighborhood, but nobody wish’s anything like that to happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other injuries either.

Nothing on my agenda as far as work is concerned today. Molly has 1 p.m. vet appt., so kind of cuts into the day. So will continue to finish up my wood cut uts and get them ready to go out.

Have a nic day wherever you are.

HA HA Sue It really isnt May 1 You are screwing with my senses ha ha I would like to turn back the clock too but to about 20 years not 10 days. You did give me a chuckle tho. Especially since I woke up at 3:45 and been up ever since. I dont know why I woke up so early. But I was wide awake and feel rested so I will go with it. Fitbit says I slept 5hrs 25 minutes so guess not so bad.
Had quite the storm last night and then it rained all night. Today supposed to be 77 and sunny so we will see. They have lowered the temps for this weekend down to 84/92/90 much better. I dont trust the weather people here anyway. Most storms either go north of me or south of me. Hopefully the same for heat. Looks pretty cloudy out right now and damp. So hopefully it will warm up as predicted and I can get my dang raised bed finished.

I think my house is getting power washed today in anticipation of painting this weekend. I will need to move my car for sure. I can park it at the neighbors since the house is for sale and nobody has bought it yet. They just lowered it another $5000 and it is a really nice house so not sure why it hasnt sold yet. Probably because of the high interest rates right now if they need to finance it.

Will be fun this weekend as my BFF is going to be camping about 10 miles north of me in her trailer. She wants to make sure everything is working properly, and dewinterize it so we will do that if she needs my help. I get to hang out with her for a couple of days. She is camping at a place that used to be a drive in theater years ago and they still use the screen to play movies on Saturday nights. I wont be staying for that as I dont drive at night AND they are playing Alice in Wonderland ha ha ha I will come home and watch my own tv.

Sue sorry to hear about your neighbor. We never wish ill will on someone of course even if we dont care for them. Sounds pretty serious tho.

OK well think I will get a shower and get dressed pretty soon and start my day.

Sue, so sorry to hear about your neighbor. Doesn't sound good at all, especially falling from the roof of an RV onto concrete! I am sure his wife is devastated! Keep us informed.

Just hanging out on my bed. Had breakfast and am dressed. Need to get something done today. Hoping for a little more motivation... Have lots to do.

Karen, have fun with Laura. I saw on FB that she renovated her bunk area. Nice improvement.

Beth, how are things going with your manager now? Did you ever have that meeting?

Winds are very calm this morning but it feels very warm out already. We either have cool weather with lots of wind, or hot weather with no wind.

Need to hear from Shirl and Lynn...

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I am having warm weather with lots of wind. It's 88. The noon weather said the winds were 18 mph but they sure feel stronger than that. I went down to the pond to see if I killed any of the weeds. I tried to fish but the wind was just too strong. I pulled some of the dead weeds out of the pond with a rake until my shoulder said enough of that.

I didn't sleep much last night so I'm trying to decide if I should take a nap or go mow. It has rained so much I will only be able to mow the hill. There are a bunch of limbs down in the yard that will have to be picked up before I can mow.

My house needs to be power washed. One of these days I am going to see if the pressure washer still works. It probably doesn't. There is a spray that I got at Lowe's that does a pretty good job. I can just spray it and the rain will wash it off. For some reason the North end of the house is the side that mildews. I sprayed it as high as I could reach so it is clean about half way up. I didn't get a ladder so I could do all of it. I'm afraid I would end up like Sue's neighbor.

I watch the house sales online in Lafayette and they have sure slowed down. Last year houses would be pending in just a few days and now they stay for a long time.

Hi ladies~~~

Just checking in. Been in Vegas since Monday afternoon and so far, so good, haven't gone near the strip. Easy to do since I'm not a gambler, drinker, or much into anything with crowds. So far, my day trips have brought me to:

Grapevine Canyon petroglyphs that brought me so close to 3 state lines, I passed through a town called Cal-Nev-Ari.

Valley of Fire SP I understand why I see so many posts in FB. All the different rock formations and colors are so interestingand beautiful.

Hoover Dam Walked along the bridge and over the dam, changing time zones 4 times.

Maybe a drive along or around Lake Mead tomorrow, then I think I'm done here. Wanted to go to the neon museum for the sign graveyard, but a worker here warned me about really poor and expensive parking and didn't seem like she really recommended going alone in Uber either. Oh well.

Have a great evening ladies and happy early Mothers Day to all, even moms if furkids.

I am done for the day. So done. I got my raised bed together finally. Added a couple of bags of potting soil and need to add the other two but maybe tonight when it cools off. It got hot out there in the sun. Steve was here and power washed my house and shed. Also replaced a couple of trim boards that had dry rot. They are on the unprotected side of the house. Then he removed the railing going down my front steps and put a new one up. No more dry rot and splinters YAY He was going to paint but he got hot too LOL so he went home and I came inside. A couple of wusses for sure. He will be back tomorrow to continue prepping for the paint job this weekend. His stepson Chris will be helping him or vice versa. Chris is really talented he pretty much put all my new doors and flooring in and did a great job. Also put in my new toilets, sinks, faucets and flooring in the bathrooms. A new sink in the kitchen and a new hood fan. Again a top job. He doesnt do as much as he used to as he is now driving a log truck. He got married last year. He has had a checkered past and drugs but he goes to meetings now and church frequently. He met his wife in rehab a couple of years ago. Together they support each other which is good. He is kind of rough looking and lots of tats, I assume some from his prison stay quite a few years ago. He talked very openly to me about it and is so happy his life is on a much better path. I wish nothing but the best for him.
I will go see Laura tomorrow afternoon and again on Saturday while she is camping just up the road. We will probably kick around a bit locally and then just enjoy sitting by the camper and chatting.

Cheryl the only recommendation I have for Vegas is the Mob Museum. Laura highly recommends it but I havent been there yet, one day I will get back to the Vegas area. I used to go every year in September when I was Travel nursing as that is where the big Travel Nurse Conference is every year, usually at the Paris. I gave a talk once when it was still a small group of about 150. My talk was living and working in your RV. At that time hardly anyone did that. Now there are tons of people RV'ing it and travel nursing. The conference is now over 1000 too big for me I dont like crowds. And since I am not traveling anymore the conference is a waste of time (and not tax deductible) other than to see some of the people I worked with frequently on assignment.

Caesar salad is whats for dinner tonight.

I went to Vegas once with friends I worked with. I don't remember all we did but I remember we did a lot of walking. Went to see the two guys with the white tigers. That was ok but I think I would have rather have had my $90. We took a raft trip down the river from the dam. It was one of the big pontoon type rafts that held about 20 people.

The hospital system my son has been going to has just laid off 800 people across the state. They say it won't affect their service. Yea right, I'm not impressed with their service now.

I can sure make my day change was going to go to the store that didn't happen and can't really think of what I did to replace it...cause it was a real do nothing day ... just the normal things that I do...
I came on hoping to see Shirl posting about her day and she is still MIA hope its because she is having a blast doing something and not cause she isn't feeling well
Karen have fun with Laura today.. I saw her update as well it looks nice tell her we all say hello
I think Anne if you can get the address that Zillow will have the information when my youngest was here last we would drive past something for sale and she would pull up her app and give information on the house... it doesn't hurt to look never can tell what you will find
I saw this recipe for a no bake dessert that sounded really good it was a lemon teramasu however it doesn't have coffee in it which is good as I don't drink coffee... need to look at the recipe again it has marscapone cheese and cream cheese mixed together I'm not remembering where the lemon flavor comes in but wondering if a person could fold into the cheese mixture lemon curd something I read in it said they didn't think it was strong in lemon flavor.. I wonder if this would work....
I asked my dd what she wanted for Mother's day dinner (they are coming here) she finally replied back Spaghetti last thing I was expecting and last thing I wanted but I guess I we will have it... I think she was thinking of easy and quick
Sue your flower bed sounds really nice
you all have a great day

Awritten about 11 am. -Sitting here on hold for the only pulmonary AND Sleep trained Dr in the area. Been waiting and calling since last July for an appointment! Referral kept getting sent with wrong info! Argh. I want him to evaluate my accumulated sleep data and figure out if something related to Cpap is causing my high morning BP. I can be 116/70 before bed and 160/90 when I wake up and, thus far, no one has answers.
At 2 pm, i finally booked an appointment for May 25!
Rest of day just busy stuff.
Tomorrow, Friday, have to be at Chrysler at 08 to get a warranty repair on door latch. Hopeful they don't keep me all day!
Have a good day.
