Mornin' ladies~~~
Sounds like a plan to me. Maybe I'd get a pic of the eagle at the Salt River. It's also Eyeore's birthday. So an excuse for cake.
Been laying low for a day or two. Yesterday was laundry, grocery shopping and looking at a couple possible parks near Apache Junction for next year for a few months. A friend's daughter is getting married next February and I'm pretty much done being in Tucson. A few days isn't bad, but not for the winter. At least here, I can always go looking for the wild horses.
Thinking about canceling CA, OR & WA. Talked to Diana yesterday and she suggested it may not be good to go because of the snow melt and flooding. I was going to cancel and had somewhere else today, but just talked to a couple from the bay area, and they seem to think it may be ok, and once i get to Oregon, they think I'd be fine. So for now, I've got 2 weeks to decide. Dealing with weather is the worst! We'll that and making reservations.
That is from AZ. May hit 100° this weekend. Yuck! Have a great day.

Morning All, cloudy but at least the constant rain has stopped. Until tomorrow when t-storms all day. Wind will come from the south Sunday so will push pots away from the railing, glad U have plant dolls. Solar lantern isn’t flickering and neither am I lol Had a piece of coconut cake last night, didn’t help my flicker. Might try an ice cream sundae. Not enjoying dinner, just eating it to get to the good stuff. Might get desperate and resort to pasta. Be safe

Cheryl, if you do head thru CA, keep an eye on the flooding situation. Yosemite is closing again now due to expected flooding there from the Sierra snow pack.
What do you not like about Tucson? Just curious...
And who is Eyeore? (besides the donkey from Winnie the Pooh)
I was falling asleep on the couch last night watching TV so I got ready for bed. But once in bed, my mind started racing, and racing...I finally took half of a sleepy pill at 5am and fell asleep shortly afterward. Then woke up at 7am, went back to sleep and woke up at 10am. Now I have a splitting headache and can't find my bottle of Advil
.
It was 103* yesterday and supposed to be 101* today and then start heading down to the upper 70's by early next week before heading back up again. Summer is on it's way!
Will watch some golf this afternoon and then the Kentucky Derby is happening later. Need to make a run to Home Depot and WM to return a couple things.
Have a good day!

BArbie, you will need to wait until next Saturday to catch the Derby. You can't go to college in Kentucky without knowing their holidays. The Derby is always the first Saturday in May........

Good Morning, It is cloudy but sun seems to be trying to come out so at least it is brighter than it was earlier. Temps in the 60's for which I am grateful, I don't like hot weather. Cheryl I think if you haven't been to CA, Or and Wa you might want try to go over to the coast and take HWY 1 and 101 all the way up. I don't know about flooding but it is soo beautiful and for me the air was wonderful!!! I felt so good as it seemed so much easier to breathe and I loved the foggy mornings. Years ago I spent 2 days in Tucson on my way to San Diego in May and thought I might not make it due to the heat. I reacted very badly.
I bought a Park Model RV with my cousin on the beach in Brookings,OR and 2 months later found out the park was being sold and all Park Models had to be moved. But I wish I had found something and stayed longer any where along the coast from Northern CA to WA seemed ideal for me weather wise.
I think I need a nap! I had to help DH fill out and submit an entry for an upcoming art exhibit and he had it started on his computer. ACK!!! It is a Mac but totally different from mine and I was about to pull his hair out!!! Uploading the photos was a night mare, whoever set the forms up must have been in an altered state. It was like working a puzzle.
Barbie do you have to use a temp agency? There are so many places here looking for help but I don't see any temp agencies. I hope you find something. Also did you stop your SS? I thought you could draw and also work as long as you didn't go over a certain amount. But then I've been retired a long time and policies have probably changed. I hope you find something.

BJ- one would have to carefully check road conditions for 1 & 101 because of road closures due to mud slides , as several long stretches are still closed according to latest check.

Cheryl,
I sent you a PM.
Sunny day here in Oregon. I pulled some weeds this morning and now it's time for lunch. Then need to mow the little patch of grass I have in the backyard. Tomorrow will be inside chores and getting ready for the work week ahead.
Everyone have a great day!

I put out my hummingbird feeder that hangs from a hook that sticks to my side window, except it keeps falling off. It had suction cups and I was using body tape to help stick it, but to no avail. So, yesterday, I cut off the suction cups and dug out some extra strong velcro sticky pads. Used four sets on the black plastic box that holds the hook, and so far it seems to work. Been getting a lot of black-chinned hummingbirds. But, and this is strange, this morning when i first opened the blinds there was a black and yellow bird at the feeder--a little bigger than a sparrow but smaller than a robin, and DEFINITELY NOT a hummingbird. Color was equally yellow and black, with no red or white. Maybe a lesser or American goldfinch??? Need to watch for him/her again.
Going to try to get rid of some of the lime scale in my shower head, and maybe tackle another project. Can't take it apart, so will have to just work on pouring stuff on both ends of the shower head. Made homemade bread yesterday, so had eggs and some good toast for breakfast.
Incredibly quiet here at Abiquiu Lake COE Campground, but a long way from anything. Also, $8 per night with my senior pass per night, so not bad with electric and water at my site. Good views. Oh, it is close to Ghost Ranch where Georgia O'Keeffe lived part of the time. Been there before, but will probably go again. Otherwise, I am just taking it easy and working on a couple of small projects. Should also do some cleaning, I suppose.

Oh trust me Barbie, I'm pretty much in flood watch daily. And I heard about Yosemite closing a few days ago. Luckily I already visited Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon in 2017.
Mostly my ride thru CA it's up I-5, right thru the valley with only 3, 2 night stops. But my first time in CA I was jumping around wild fires when it was time to head south. can't quite figure out the best time of year to go.
Right now I'm giving myself a week to decide, but right now I'll probably canceland instead try to head up to Great Basin and Idaho, then as if I can catch up with Sheila again, since it's been a few years.
Like I mentioned to a Laura (answered your PM), maybe I've lost my nerve after being off the road last year and sitting around in Tucson when Eileen passed (they wouldn't give refunds).
But I want to go to OR & WA! waaaaa!

I was wondering how I would have missed the Kentucky Derby when I read Barbie's post.
I was camping that Saturday several years ago and we all went to Goodwill and bought hats to wear while we watched the derby.
Shirl, the local grocery store had Coconut Cakes the other day but I don't have room in the freezer to put one. I'm sure I'll have a weak moment and buy one sometime.
Judy, my shower heads are on a hose so I just stick them in a big cup of vinegar sometimes. If yours is fixed I guess you could tape a zip lock bag with vinegar around it.
The bad weather missed me again. It rained a little off and on and was overcast all day. The cold front came through and it's 60 tonight. I went to Walmart to pick up Sugar's pills and managed to spend $200. Half of it was probably for the cats and dog. I bought more ant poison and wasp spray. The wasps are setting up house all around. I picked up a cornish hen to cook for tomorrow. I haven't cooked one in a long time.

Judy I wish I could pull up the name of what I think the name of the bird is .... but it may not be I actually remembered and it doesn't have any black so could be a gold finch... look up the bird Verdin ... I think is the spelling ... I was looking out the rear window in the 5th wheel and saw this bird at the hummingbird feeder and thought you silly thing you can't drink out of that... found out it was a Verdin and they eat the sugar crystals off the edges of the edges of the feeders.. I didn't see them very often but really liked them
Barbie I made it up... fried the loose hamburger took it out of the pan and then saute some onion added some chopped up mushrooms (not a small chop but not left big either) added the meat back in flour and seasoning oh yes I added some chopped up garlic... I used some garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper perhaps some Italian seasoning and used beef broth has the liquid till it was the consistency I wanted oh yes some Wor sauce and bouquet not sure what it's full name is I use it when I remember in stews adds a good color... a really good recipe huh??? but I liked it I can't even tell you how much meat was used as it was just some hanging out in the freezer...
Cheryl haven't looked at the maps but why not spend some time in Utah over on the East/central part for a few weeks till it gets to hot... you said something about going to Vegas come east again I don't know that area very well at all check out the 4 corners area there are lots of neat spots not just the parks but other interesting areas... Goshen Valley is full of rock formations or is it Gobblin Valley?? anyway avoid CA enter into OR from either Idaho or Utah.. just go slowly keep a eye out and wonder over slowly to and check out PNW ... but I maybe all wrong there maybe issues that I haven't heard about in the areas that you want to go to... It will be good to see you when you do come but the parks aren't fully open yet last I heard the inner road through GTNP doesn't open until May 11 snow is melting but still a fair amount in various areas... Have you been to the Vernal area of Utah?
It's pretty bad when you do two things and think you have accomplished a lot... changed the sheets on my bed today... took a shower... that was all she wrote other than the normal routine stuff
I have almost finished the weaving on the Swedish weave ... 8 full rows and 1/2 row then the finishing work It's taken me awhile but I don't work on it daily and when I do it's not for more than a hour or less...
you all have a great day and good luck Barbie in the job search temp work might work well for you ...

Did some research and checked with the camphost, and I am pretty sure my yellow and black bird is a Brooks or a Scott's Oriole. They look similar, and it says they love to raid hummingbird feeders! I will need to look more carefully next time one comes by to check the coloring pattern.
Also lots of black-chinned hummingbirds, and maybe abroad-tailed hummingbird, but got to check the latter when I see it again. Camphost has a bunch of feeders of all kinds so their site is full of birds, and I am just a couple of sites away.
