Monday April 24

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, it’s 48° and dark. I never get up this early but…sometime during the night I woke up to Avery loud bang followed by something hitting the floor in the bathroom. I thought someone shot through the slider. Then I went back to sleep. I guess not very sound because I was awake at 5am. The large bottle of shoer wash was laying on the shower floor. Checked the slider, no holes. I sleep right next to the mechanical room on the balcony so maybe something in there or maybe the sound came from another apartment. Will check with management at 9. Later

Morning, Shirl.

I don't know which is worse - being awakened by an unknown-origin loud noise in the middle of the night, or thinking (logically!) that said loud noise might have been caused by someone shooting a bullet into one's apartment.

Such is the sorry state of the world we are currently living in.

Glad you are ok, Shirl.

Shirl, hope it wasn't anything serious. Luckily, my upstairs neighbors only drop things to make me jump when I'm awake!

The 2nd day of getting up to bad news so I may stay in bed tomorrow! Yesterday a friend let me know she had to put her pet down. This morning after I texted my daughter that I woke up, she told me to text her when I was awake she had news. The nice guy who helped me so much 2 years ago with selling the camper, buying a car and he bought my truck, passed away Thursday of cancer at 62. Another reminder we aren't promised tomorrow. Monica works with his son's mother-in-law so that's why she knew.

BJ, I did start the packing. Brother's step-grandson's birthday party is Wednesday on my way to Port Angeles so will add that to the itinerary. My car has a sunroof just because it came that way. I seldom slide the 'cover' back and wind noise is so loud if I open it. Karen, your car is so pretty! Hope Barbie's day is going well! I have no luck in thrift stores! Always a broken zipper or something.

I left Thursday to go to the RVW rally in MIssissippi. I hate going to Mississippi because I have to go thru Baton Rouge. Depending on the time the traffic can be a nightmare in Baton Rouge. I went up to 190 to Baton Rouge and took a country road most of the way to the campground. My site was very unlevel and I couldn't use my jacks or my front wheels were 6 inches off the ground. I had to use some boards to get somewhat level. Thursday night we had a nice campfire but Friday night it stormed. There were too many trees to use the satellite so had to watch the weather on my phone. Thank goodness there weren't any tornados. I was at that campground one time that we had to spent an hour in the bathroom because of severe weather. There was only 4 PBS tv channels and they went off when it rained and didn't come back on until Saturday afternoon. I got home yesterday afternoon and was pooped. My knees were hurting. I don't do enough walking at home and all the climbing in and out of the motorhome is hard on my knees. I took a chance and took I-10 part of the way home and the traffic wasn't bad.

Sugar had diarrhea on Friday so I gave her some rice and groundmeat and a probiotic for dogs that Karen had recommended. She was better Saturday and looks like she is back to normal today. She is her own worst enemy. I had to take a fish head and a dead frog away from her. People are bad about throwing bones down around campsites and she is always looking for one.

The motorhome is still in the front yard and I need to finish unloading and put it up. My sister wants to go to the lake but there is more rain coming later in the week. Will see what the weather is next week. I hate to ask my neighbor to feed too often.

Anita, sorry about your friend. I missed the picture of Karen's car. I try to stay out of thrift stores. The three cookbooks I bought at the estate sale are still in the camper. I was reading them this weekend. On the noon news there was a lady promoting The Jockey Lot flea market in Lafayette. I think it's called that because it is where the stables were when there was a race track in Lafayette. It's huge and very busy on the weekends. The lady said they have Funnel Cakes so I might have to go.

I almost forgot, Claudia was at the campout. A few know and have met her. I hadn't seen her in several years.

I emailed management about loud noise, they thanked me. Will have maintenance check. They will get back to me. I have never been an early riser, hated 6am shift. I sleep very well and soundly. Was ditzy this morning so took a nap. Feeling good. Trying bake beans in the crockpot again. I like cooking from scratch, no additives or high sodium. It isn’t hard but time consuming. I don’t want to be tied to a schedule. Soak beans 12 hours, cook beans 8 hours on low, Yada yada,I did the quick version of soaking beans and if they aren’t crunchy I will eat them. Lol Have a Sam’s rotisserie chicken so there is alway sandwich’s. Be safe

Hope Barbies day is going well.

Shirl, I pm'd you because email was returned. Scary about the loud noise. I hope an answer to it is found.

I spent over 1 1/2 hours in a zoom meeting with my coop. They're trying to come up with an affordable, workable method for solar for the entire coop. I don't think a majority would vote for it right now but more answers are needed. The coop doesn't allow solar on casitas at this point, which I'd do if allowed and this doesn't work out.

Anita, I hope good news comes your way tomorrow. Enough, too much, bad! Martha, I laughed out loud that funnel cake might get you to the flea market.

Good afternoon. I wasnt up early this morning, slept soundly too. Not my usual. I am an early riser so when I saw it was almost 7 it startled me awake LOL Doing laundry., Then had to change my car insurance, of course it went up but that is no big surprise LOL I was expecting that for sure. Today is cloudy out but 60 so I will take it. We are supposed to have a nice week so I am looking forward to getting out in the yard. We had a bit of rain this morning so of course everything is still wet out. I want to rototill my small garden area and plant my new ITOH Peony. Still pondering where to put it. I have some seeds I am going to start in an old egg carton, will see if they grow. I dont really have a green thumb but I have always grown great tomatoes but not the last couple years here. So I am going to put them in the ground instead of my large containers. I might plant a determinate or two in a container and see how that does. But the indeterminates are going in the ground this year.
I have this week off (YAY) no doc appts LOL Next week I see my PCP and getting a hearing test at Costco, but other than that I am footloose and fancy free ha ha

I actually did something that I needed to do today... put the yarn I am not needing in a bin and the new yarn into the box that the yarn seems to work well in.. it's some of those time consuming doesn't look like you have done anything work... did a couple of rows on the Swedish Weave... fixed supper turned on the oven so it could preheat. put the bacon on the pan and then realized that the oven wasn't on forgot to push start   so that meant that supper would be later then the bacon was thick cut... so still longer... but it all happened had french toast and bacon and I had an egg... all of it tasted good and mom ate better than normal..
Tomorrow I really should do something more... Mom needs a shower I need to do that it's so easy to procrastinate it's not my favorite thing to do...
you didn't come back Shirl and tell us what the issue was... hopefully nothing important fell
have fun on your trip Anita
what you should to Anne is pack up your rig and your dog and you and come to Q next winter for a month or more or less I so hope I make it...
had my niece go down to the basement and check it out for moisture that is doing ok but guess the mice have enjoyed their peace and quite... We need to figure out what we can get rid off that hopefully will curtail them ...
Martha funnel cake would get me there as well... Q is a big flee market in the winter you get so that you know what is there and where to find it or at least I used to but not being there for a couple of years the vendors may have changed there is a vendor that sells sunglasses that fit over your glasses I use them and so need a new set if they still have them..
Barbie hope your day was great
and Beth good luck tomorrow with your meeting
you all have a great day

Good late evening!

Well, things went better than I expected at work. I worked on weighing, adjusting and sealing joints today. The gal who was training me typically does 14 bins of joints per day (100 joints per bin). I did 3! :o But I talked to another new gal who has done this work for several years and she only did 3 as well, so I didn't feel so bad. They do things a little different here than where I used to work, so there is a learning curve. By the second half of the day, I was working much faster. The third bin I did just took me an hour to do, so at that rate I would be doing about 7-8 bins per day.

The time goes fast because we take our first break at 8am for 15 minutes, then take our lunch at 10:15 for 45 minutes, then a 10 minute break at 12:15 and then leave at 2:30, so a break every 2 hours which breaks up the day nicely. Everyone seems nice and helpful. At 1:15 the manager said we were done with what we had to work with so we would get out early. Then, as we were cleaning up, he announced that they didn't have any work for us to start yet tomorrow so we get the day off and come back on Wednesday. OK by me! I was really tired by the time I left there and then stopped at WM out that way to get a couple things I couldn't find at the other WM yesterday. I ended up buying a bunch of munchies...hmmm.. :? .

Am really tired tonight and ready for bed. I can sleep in tomorrow. I feel much better now about this job. It is just the not knowing what to expect that stresses me out.

I have a headache tonight too. My mouth tastes like pot no matter what I eat  I did have some sciatica issues for awhile this morning so I lowered my chair a bit and that seemed to take care of it. However, then the table was a little too high so my shoulders got sore. I asked about bringing in a seat cushion but they said if it is regular material, it is not allowed. Only if it is vinyl or leather, so the pot doesn't stick to it and it can be wiped off. So I can't use the one I just bought, but I figured if I raise up my chair again and get a plastic box to put my feet on to raise them up, that should work good. I picked up a 3" high small plastic bin at WM and will bring that in to put my feet on and see how that does.

The only think I really didn't like was the music they were playing, rap and hiphop! I have never heard the "n" word used so many times in so many songs! :o And other bad language (which I can tolerate on a minimal level, but not constantly all day! ). And they play it loud! So I found my headphones tonight in my shed that I can use with my phone to listen to what I like and hopefully, drown out that nasty crap!

I used to love sun roofs! My Monte Carlo had a "moon roof" which I guess is different from a sun roof because it was power (or because it was a cool car and needed a cool name for the opening in the roof!) I had popup sunroofs put in my two Ford Escorts after I bought them. I also had a convertible Pontiac Sunbird which I loved dearly!

I am thinking of painting over the wallpaper in my kitchen. It is really outdated looking and might make a better impression if I paint it a nice bright purple! No, just kidding! Either white or something light colored but neutral. One can of good paint should do the whole kitchen. There are a lot of cupboards in there so not that much wall space to paint. Need to do it before it gets too hot to be able to open the windows and air out the place. Sue, do you want to come down and help me?? :D I want to redo the window treatments in my living room too, without spending too much money. I have some ideas. There are a lot of windows so I need to keep it simple.

OK, I really need to get to bed because I am rambling now...

Good night!

Sheila, be sure to get the electrical wiring checked to make sure the mice didn't chew that up.

I hope you can get to Q next year as I am really hoping I can be there too with an RV. I did look for a couple of my favorite vendors there this year when I went but didn't see them. So I imagine they do come and go. I didn't do much looking there since I didn't have much money to spend and didn't feel good. I was just mostly there for the RV show and those vendors to get information.

Thanks for the invite, Sheila! I have never been to Q, definitely on my list. I love the desert - LOL, especially in the winter (when it is not so hot).

Hope you can make it to Q this year, Sheila. You most certainly deserve a nice trip.
