GOOD MORNING CAMPERS!!
I hope your part of the country is drier than up here this morning, but from what I hear on the news, it hasn't been good anywhere, what with searing heat, heavy, devastating winds, some heavy wet snows, tornadoes, hail, and torrential rains. It's pouring buckets out here right now, with a temperature of 45 degrees F.
When I got home from school yesterday afternoon I discovered the town road crew had trimmed back the trees along the sides of the paved road, chipped the smaller ones, and left the larger pieces all neatly cut and stacked. Although they are just mainly balsam trees, softwood, not good for stove wood, I collected a truckoad of them to use for campfire wood. There are more which I will try to get as soon as the rain stops. HEAVY suckers, they were, as they are big in diameter, and green....I will attempt to split them with the maul this weekend.
My self-setting/adjusting alarm clock went off at the right time this morning! Now that it's operating on the correct time zone again, it's back to normal! If I only could determine just how I managed to get it back there, now! I fooled with so many combinations of buttons, I can't remember just how I fixed it....not to mention how it ever got off-kilter to begin with.
The coffee is perking, as it's the bone meds day again here, with the obligatory half hour wait before I can sip on the nice warming liquid! It smells good, Hazlenut, and my wood fire from last night is still making it nice and warm in here. So, c'mon in and sit a spell and let us know about your plans for the day.
iI hope it's not pouring where Echo and Kelly are in their tent! Where are you two off to now?
Have fun, in spite of what the weather tosses your way----there is always something to do. Catch you later.......

Good morning, everyone!
Here in NW TN, we are absolutely waterlogged!!! I am sooooo sick of rain, but there's no place to escape it. Haven't even been able to get the trailer out from under its little shelter so I can work on that pressure test BEFORE the warranty expires. Oh, well...
At least all this rain has given us the impetus to work on indoor projects - got the scanner hooked up to an attic anetnna for much better reception, installed another outdoor security camera, tried some new recipes. The storms late last week knocked out our telephone and internet for almost 4 days! How frustrating is that???? Nothin' to do but talk to each other! YIKES! We played some golf and bowling on the Wii...
Well, that's about it from NW TN...nuttin' but rain. It's so depressing.
Hope everyone has a great day, in spite of the weather.

Good morning! And it is! I woke to a cool dawn and brilliant sunshine. Beth and I are right at the top of New Mexico. We drove Rt. 64 West through the most gorgeous scenery I have ever seen. Imagine a winding road, about 8000 to 9000 feet in elevation. You are driving through a vally, green as all get out, the streams are overflowing with winter snow runoff. In the background, everywhere you look are towering snow covered mountains. We climbed, me very slowly up a steep grade, as the road reached the summit it turned and below us was the valley and range after range of mountains in the back, shaded from deep blue to the palest grey. It was impossible to photograph, but it's imprinted on our minds forever. And there wasn't another sould around for hour after hour. Lovely country, completey unused. Today...the Aztec Ruins, and then we will finally go our seperate ways. It has been great!

Sparkle, how have you kept in touch with each other while driving?
Your entire trip has been fascinating to follow. Thank you both for taking us with you.

Good-morning !!! Another very wet and this morning stormy day, woke up to thunder running across the sky. Maggie, does not like it at all.
Didn't plan to post this morning, just quickly check the morning post out, but when Sparkle gives a report of where they are like she did, had to comment. Sounds like an ideal place to be. I am so happy for you two to be seeing and being in such beautiful country. The thing that would make me happier is if I was there
Supposed to take my r.v. into get oil change and inspected. Just may change that though as this day is really supposed to be BAD here and the garage where I take it, poor fella, will be out in the rain to service it. Besides, he may skip over some of the service, and I couldn't blame him, but I want the works.
I hope everyone has a great day, stay safe and dry, wherever you are and whatever you might be doing.
Carol

I'm just sorry we are having such a problem uploading our photos. We will get ti done. We have been on the move so much it has been a challenge. I have put 3000 miles on in New Mexico alone. Mitch we have walky talkies. It is handy when we need to make a stop, for us or the dogs, or when we see something. I'll get a quick, Look to your left! and see something I might have missed. One of the sad sights was a small Ranch, It had a big sign, something like Dave and Mary's Dream Ranch. It was abandoned and swinging from the big entry gate was an effigy. Beth came on her radio and said, Someones dream got shattererd.

Good Morning from rainy Middle Tennessee. Our flowers will appreciate it! Like Michelle said, at least we can catch up on indoor projects. It was a nice break to have a sunny day on Tuesday! I may be back later to sit a spell and eat a bite. For now my Diet Coke is taking care of things for me!! I hope everyone has a super day!!

So sad. It seems like a lot of dreams have been shattered if you keep up with the news.
We've driven parts of 64 on our travels and what we saw was beautiful. Glad you're still having a great time and the weather is holding up. Enjoy the rest of your time together and looking forward to the pics. carold

Well it's going to be hot and sunny here again today. But the rv fridge is chillin' and I'm 'a packing, and sorting out what doesn't fit. Roe knows...yes he does. Bandit hasn't figured it out yet.
So Sparkle and Beth, can't you just stop in the middle of the road and get out for a picture? You said there wasn't hardly anybody else on the road. Come to think of it, Carol doesn't like it much when I do that. I've reformed though, I have.
I wasn't able to obtain any Canadian cash here. My Credit Union doesn't do it, and the banks only do it for their customers. Guess we'll wait until we get to the border to do that.
Hope everyone's bad weather clears up so you can enjoy the day. Michelle, I think I could even enjoy a rainy day sitting on your porch with that view!

Liz, when we traveled in Canada we used only our credit cards and the exchange was done by the CC company on the billing. We didn't want to hassle with having Canadian $$ left over to try to exchange back.

Good morning!
Sparkle, it's safe to say that you and Beth have taken us all on a trip over the winter and now with your travels north. Great pics, great descriptions... and it feels like we are riding along with great friends! Thanks again!
For those concerned about Canadian money, you will need it for small things that are not appropriate to put on a credit card! How about an ice cream cone,... a quick lunch,... ? It's fine to put gas, and larger purchases on a card. It's no hassle to have CA money, and we have an exchange in our mall here in Plattsburgh, NY. It isn't only the banks where you can do that. I always have a small amount of CA money just in case I go over the border for some reason. But then again maybe here in the north country we don't really feel like it's a foreign country!
Rain here today,... with little bit of sun peeking out once in a while. It's already almost 11 a.m. and I've got 1 1/2 hours before I have my lunch. For some reason I'm starved already!
Well, I hope everyone is having a great day,.....

Good morning ladies. Its beautiful here in Silver City New Mexico - sunny with a nice breeze. Its still getting windy in the afternoons so the big flamingo is staying inside the RV. Good to hear from Beth and Sparkle. I never get tired of New Mexico. There is so much variety of scenery in this state. I love the red rock area up around Gallup and the mountains that are so green. I'm off today and need to do a little shopping.

A quick good morning from another very wet spot.
Our 3rd storm since 2:00 AM just passed; this one also had several tornados in it. There are reports of trees down and wide spread power outages on the west side of town and in Madison. These are considered weak tornados, EF 1, with winds up to 100 mph. Flood warnings all over the northern part of the state. Oh, I want some sunshine!!! No sun in forecast until Sunday.
Thanks, Sparkle for report of the lovely area in which you and Beth are traveling. Glad to hear your walkie talkies are working out. Will Beth be taking them with her for the AK trip?
Stay safe (and dry, if possible) today.
