Morning All, 50° and sunny. I’m being tortured. Today a company does yearly alarm check. They check each apartment while the alarm sounds. It is a piercing bone shattering sound and painful for me. There must have been a problem somewhere because the alarm kept sounding. I posted too much yesterday and no news today. Karen, deer won’t eat a bottle tree. Lol. Be safe

Good morning to All - Well we've been home a week and a half. Temperatures outside have one from 45 during day to 89 today and 90 something tomorrow. But is supposed to cool down mid week to the low 89's - sure hope so. I have managed to take one morning walk with my friends here to the wetlands. Got in 5500 steps with a lot of time sitting on benches during the walk. This week I get my taxes done and Bill has heart doctor appointment and retinal doctor appointment. We know he has a problem with his heart - lower right part not getting enough blood to it. So don't know if doc will do something or set up more testing. And sure hope something can be done about his eyesight. Right now he is having a hard time. Still very exhausted from the covid. And very depressed. I know some of you had problems with the covid lingering. Any advice you can offer. Did any thing make you feel better? I try to get him out somewhere every day, but I'm ashamed to say it is aggravating me. Sometimes it feels like he is giving up. His eyes are so bad he cannot read or work on his computer. He says the lines of letters move in a wave. Also has to be very careful walking cause the ground undulates.
Also got dinged by the management where we live about having artificial plants on our patio. So went and bought about 7 live plants that I now have to plant in the pots. Sounded like a good idea until I got them home.
W@ell enough complaining. If any one has any suggestions or advice I will be very grateful.

Thank you for your update. I'm sure that all of us here have been wondering about you and Bill, and sending good thoughts your way.

I am so very sorry to hear about your and Bill's continuing difficulties. I hope that you both can find a solution. I think the jury is still out on all of the really bad things that Covid can and has done to us.

I do most sincerely believe that the powers assumed by many Homeowner's Associations (and the rules they wish to enforce), around the country range from the merely ridiculous to the inexcusably atrocious. A person not allowed to have artificial plants, to me, is unthinkably intrusive. Privacy doesn't matter any more. Forget about personal autonomy, its done.

I mean, who cares if one puts an artificial flower or shrubbery on one's private patio? (Of course, aside from the asinine self-important boards of HO organizations).

As for complaining on here - please complain away as much as you like. Sounds like you are having a terrible time, and you deserve to be listened to.

We are all here for you.

Aww, Carol, I wish I had answers or help for Bill's problems but I can't imagine not being able to read so think I'd be hard to be around also. I hope there can be some improvement.

After Ty and I getting soaked in an unpredicted rain yesterday, we stayed close to home this morning. Again no rain in the forecast but it's misting and still in the 50's so chilly. Supposedly I should be seeing sun and 70's. I'm being patient lol

Now I'm on the couch with Ty's head in my lap, watching the last season of MasterChef Junior.

So sorry about Bill's eyes. I Googled eyesight and covid and found many sites with information. I thought this sounded plausible. "Our research group has found that the virus is found in the eye's tear film," says Steven Yeh, MD, Nebraska Medicine ophthalmologist. "This can sometimes lead to conjunctivitis, an inflammation of the clear membrane on the eye's surface". It also can cause a lot of other issues so be sure to read up on it so if his eye doctor doesn't mention it you can ask if he is aware of the issue. and who he can refer you to who would know as I think maybe it is fairly new research. You could also Google 'can covid affect your eyesight'.

Good morning, I have been up since 4am...sheesh Had breakfast at 7 Started a couple of loads of laundry. Re organized the clock in the guest bedroom and my bedroom. Cleaned the bathrooms and now it is only 10am Henry did his job this morning so then I figured I should dust. Now pondering what to do for a while until lunch ha ha

Another not so nice day but not cold out at all. 56/41 so not bad. Just spitting some rain off and on. Looking at the 10 day forecast I see nothing but showers/cloudy for the duration. Where the heck is Spring. I might get everything ready to go to the Donation center and drop off my cardboard too after lunch. We shall see. That would require a shower and out of my sweats so hmmmmmm. Might just get it all in my car for tomorrow.

Carol I had long Coved for 9 dang months. I know just how Bill feels. I was able to read and do some computer stuff. Watch a bit of tv but had zero appetite and coughed constantly. Lost 50lbs which I have since found LOL well not all of them 30 of them tho. I was super fatigued and my O2 sats were not good. I was pretty weak there at the last. My doc even gave me the form for a Handicapped permit. Then I had an inhaler and a super duper antibiotic which I felt much better after 5 of the seven days. Turned it around quickly and got my appetite back. Took a little longer for my strength and still working on my stamina. Hopefully Bill can turn this around also. I am sure he is frustrated I know I was.

Martha, when you are camping, Sugar has all your attention. When you go home she has to share you with other pets. She is a smart Surgar Cookie.

Sue and BJ, I have just recently begun to use the food processor for slicing, grating and chopping. I guess this is 'don't knock it until you have tried it' thing. Barbie, that's just scary with the microwave! The one here won't let me do that, but I'll have to see what the next one does. I fell asleep in my chair between 7 and 8 last night - woke up at 10:30 p.m.! Late to bed and late to get up this morning! The gloom and rain is here again today - this, too, shall pass!

Enjoyed all the Easter stories! I probably always had a new outfit, sometimes with hat, gloves, shoes and purse. Then two more kids came along when I was 9 and 10 plus we moved from Kansas to Washington. That Easter my mother remade one of her dresses for me. Easter egg hunting was always fun with little ones. One of the things I miss.

Anita I wasn't knocking your food processor I would probably use one if I had it. I don't cook that much anymore but I'm sure I would love it, especially for carrots. It reminded me of the time I heard a man in Kohl's say to his wife, "if we got one of these food processors we could have mashed potatoes."

Just got back from WM. Went to get a new microwave and a few little things I needed in groceries. They were out of stock with the one I wanted and I didn't like what they had on the shelf. I will try another WM tomorrow. I get major sticker shock when I go to buy food now! I just got a few things and passed on other things I would have normally bought. I swear that everything went up by at least 50%! With my limited income right now, I really have to be careful.

I did get a notification from Indeed (job search) about a cannabis job doing exactly what I was doing before and in the same location. It had just been posted so I applied for it. They are doing group interviews tomorrow starting at 9am so I will be there then. They are looking to fill 8 positions so hopefully I will get hired (crossing my fingers!).
I will be close to a much nicer WM on the way home from there tomorrow, so I will stop and check on their microwaves.

It was in the low 90's again today so have been running the AC at about 82*. At night I turn my bedroom down to about 78* or just open my windows if there is a breeze and in the 60's. Will be cooling off later this week tho.

People are pulling out of here every day now, and heading back home. Getting quieter each day. I think the lady across the street must have had complaints about her dogs because I haven't heard them as much. Her mom owns that home and lives next door and needs help now since she fell, so different family members have been taking turns all winter coming down to help her. They should all be heading out for the summer pretty soon and taking mom with them.

My knee and back have been feeling really good lately! Very little to no discomfort at all now. They just needed a break from standing, and turning, and leaning, and twisting all day!

Carol, I feel bad for Bill. He must feel very frustrated and scared about his condition right now. Make sure you aren't neglecting your own needs while helping him, tho. Keep us updated. {{{hugs}}}

cake and dip is a dessert that my mother in law came up with sometime in her life not sure of the story behind it but we are all glad that she did basically what it is, these are done up in individual servings cake (chocolate) either cute up broken up whole sliced what ever way you want it and a lot of topping (dip) poured over it that is basically fudge candy only not cooked to the stage that it would be candy... I suspect that one day mom made candy and it didn't work so not to toss it out she made cake and came up with cake and dip we don't count servings nor calories
was going to go to lunch with a friend of mine but she called and said that she was really tired and asked if today would work so did today what I was going to do on Tuesday took my books to the book store they may or may not be able to use them all what they don't I said donate not sure where that is but imagine a thrift store or possibly a women's center... I'm just not going back for them... got an ice cream and stopped at world market was going to do a pedi but I was tired thought I'd go to dd's and take an hour nap then get up and Swedish Weave slept two hours oops...
tomorrow we will go out to eat as well as to JoAnn's and I will get stuff for two new projects for when I finish the two I'm currently one...
Praying Carol that all will be better for Bill in the mean time since he can't read maybe he would like to listen to an e-book might take his mind off what his eye's can't do I know that you explained more about why the problem with your patio but I still think it's a lot of to do over nothing it's looked nice probably nicer than the dried up dead flowers later in the summer that you will possibly have plus the extra amount of water that the plants will require... but it is their rules as short sited as they are
going to go and crochet at least get in my two rows there didn't last night so behind a couple of days now not that I had promised it by a certain time but in my mind I was going to be through by such ans such a day
mom has a food processor I don't so my theory is why get used to using an appliance that I don't have plus I really don't know how to use it...

oh been going to ask has anyone else's SS been coming at a different day? mine was always the 2nd Weds of the month now it's been coming the Saturday before just curious

Sheila yes my SS check was the second Wed too and now was deposited on Sat the last couple of months.
Well I have nothing new to report except I am thinking of building an ark. BUT maybe not because after our "atmospheric river" passes (remember when we just called them storms) We are supposed to have a few sunshiny days. But we shall see. Well off to bed now I am tired tonight. I got up way too early today.

My check is deposited the 2nd Wednesday. My 1st check was early but none since. I'd be ok with that if it happened lol.

Off to bed. Hopefully to sleep!
