And here it is already afternoon. Greetings to all. It’s a sunny but coolish day so far but I’ll take the sun. I think the temps are forecasted to continue to climb this week and maybe not rain. Everything is starting to green up and spring flowers are blooming. Maybe it’s safe to put the snow shovels in the garage now and think about running the gas out of the snowblower for the summer. Buddy and I have been enjoying play time in the backyard but the sutures come out Tuesday so we can start taking walks. Right now I can’t get the harness on and off that easily and I have to fight him to get the cone back on. He wants to mouth anything so it’s a struggle. I signed us up for a class yesterday that starts the 21st so hope it’ll help us both! They told me they keep the class to 6 dogs and they usually have 2 trainers working with us so it should be fun. Son is having dinner for us later this afternoon since he has to work tomorrow which is fine with me. Maybe tomorrow I’ll start scrubbing down cupboards in Lola and vacuum. Not that I’m getting anxious or anything!! No trips planned yet since I don’t know how Buddy’s going to do but think I’ll try a couple one night trips close by to see how it goes. So that’s about all going on here right now so I’ll stop rambling and go get something accomplished before I have to leave. Hope you all stay safe and have a great rest of the weekend.

Sharon, hope Buddy likes camping as much as Sugar does. She just loves to go. I need to find a picture of us at a campout. I had walked Sugar to where everyone was gathered and when I tried to leave she laid down and didn't want to get up. Everyone was laughing at her. She knows where the action is.

It rained again last night and I got another inch and a half. Everything is very wet. I haven't looked but I bet the Vermilion River which runs close to me is at flood stage. My internet went out when it was raining so I just turned my computer off. This morning I had to turn my router off and on three times before it would connect. I was afraid I was going to have to call my internet provider. I hate to do that because they ask me questions I don't know the answer to.

I need to go get a birthday card for my grandson's half sister. I'm as close to a grandmother she has and not a very good one it seems. Her birthday was 2 weeks ago.

It is cloudy out but no rain so far and we are supposed to warm up to 63 today. Hmmmm we shall see. No breeze either so there is hope. I want to get out and spray my weeds in my gravel before they take over the yard. But it was way too breezy yesterday. Also need to weed eat my little bit of grass in the corner of my backyard. Martha when you get rain you get alot. It can rain off and on all day and night here and we dont even get a quarter of an inch or if we are lucky maybe a half inch. Seems like the totals are off. I might have to buy a rain gauge LOL

Bought myself a new toy this week. LOL It is a mini saw so I can trim my maple tree out front. Some of the branches are too thick for my hedge trimmer so this should be just about perfect as I dont have anything else I need to trim that the nippers wont work on. I need to charge it first so hopefully later on I can give it a try.

Morning is almost over! Cloudy and we did get rain a couple of days ago.

Sheila, hope you are enjoying your getaway! My apartment will be ground floor and I will have a little patio. One end leads to all rocks so I'm sure I can expand if I wanted to. Kids decided to have Easter dinner so I need to walk over to the grocery store to get items for my contribution. When I came home from the mechanic the other day, I used the 'back road' that goes by the kids'. Within 2 hours after that, road was partially closed due to rock slide. That's a real issue around here right now - particularly on some of our favorite scenic drives. Obviously, things are real exciting around here!

What did you get, Karen? I need something like that, so I went out this morning to look at small electric chainsaws at Harbor Freight. Made the mistake of going into Hobby Lobby first - I had never been in the store here, even though it has been open a couple of years.

LOL, spent a LONG time walking around in Hobby Lobby - what a lot of STUFF they have in there!

I ended up buying a couple of artificial flowers - roses - to use to photograph with my latest jewelry piece, will do the picture-taking later today. I am calling this new necklace "Richard III", so of course I needed roses!

By the time I got out of Hobby Lobby I was bushed for the day, so didn't make it to Harbor Freight.

So I am still in the market for some kind of light-duty trimmer.

Anne this is the one I bought. It also comes with 3 chains so no sharpening for quite a while. Also 2 batteries. It got good reviews and has a good video with it. I didnt use it today because my neighbors are having a house full of company I suspect for Easter dinner so didnt want to disturb them.

So I sprayed all the dang weeds in the back and side yard. I have a small patch of grass at one end and decided I should weed eat it as I was losing the dog in the grass ha ha It is just weed type grass so sometime this spring I will plant some real grass and fix up that end for the dog. Altho she is not real picky thank goodness. I havent really done a thing with my back yard since I moved in. The first year I concentrated on the front and it looks pretty good except I need to trim my maple tree. I didnt want rocks out there so I put mulch and it looks just fine. So this year I want to buy some plants for the back yard and start spiffing it up. I also need to water seal my 60ft back deck YIKES I have new chairs and a rug I am anxious to put out also. I really really need some sunshine days. I know I will be complaining when the heat waves get here but for now I am pouting. But on the good side it didnt rain on me today.

DON'T PUT THE SHOVEL IN THE GARAGE! That is guaranteed to cause more snow.

I slept in today and have spent the last four hours trying to catch up on POA things. Got a call from occupational therapist and spent time talking with her and then went through a bunch of medical bills to make sure they were all paid. I share a checking account where my aunt's social security gets deposited. Most of her bigger bills are paid out of another checking account that gets money from investments, but I am required by federal law to document once a year what I spent my aunt's SS on, so I have a spreadsheet set up and had to make some calls on a couple of invoices that I did not think we owed.

Cooler today, but still warmer than last few weeks. Did not even go below zero last night. This is a nice, full-hookup campground across the highway from and owned by the Casino. Costs only $25, which is not bad for full hookups. Plus i am still coughing--think I need to drink more. Will take more Mucinex soon. Head really ached this morning because I forgot to take my medications last night. Do that about once a month. Ugh.

Late afternoon here.Just finished dinner. Made a big salad with shredded chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, shredded cheddar cheese, then added my salad dressing, and some honey, roasted Walnut salad topping to the top of it. That was it for supper.

Otherwise, it has been pretty much of a puttery day here. I packed up my new go bag and got that done. Then I started putting some things in it to my basement shelter room that will stay down there. Made a list of some items I have to get at the grocery store. Took the dogs for a very short walk, but Molly didn’t seem like she wanted to go on much today, so we just came back home. I guess she had her work out yesterday when we took a long walk. Plus, I think her arthritis in her left elbow is kicking up more too. So I hauled out the wood flower cutouts I did last fall and am painting them. When the weather warms up this week, I’m going to trace out and cut the patterns for the boy and girl that are going out by the entrance in the flower bed. They are called Dress UP Darlings, and you can make different outfits for them. So, I’m going to make them with raincoats and stick these flowers out there with them. As May goes on and we get into our growing season. I will change them over to farmers outfits. The bodies are made out of plywood, but you can use pretty much anything to make the outfits. Then you can stick them on with either Velcro or you can screw on, whichever.

Has anybody heard anything about how Bill and Carol made out at his eye doctor appt. he was supposed to have had this past Monday?

Anne, I use a battery operated Ryobi reciprocating saw for tree trimming. Works great. No fuss, no muss. When the blade goes down I just pitch it out and put a new one in. Because I use Ryobi tools I have about six or seven batteries, so when one runs down, I just take it off, put it on the charger and put another one on. They can go quite a while on a charge. There different kinds and lengths of reciprocating saw blades, depending upon what you’re going to do. I use the ones for for cutting wood. I didn’t want to get into a chainsaw because then if the chainsaw blade way down, you have to take it off and go through all that junk and I didn’t wanna bother with it. Plus, I don’t know if the chainsaws need the boiled like the gas ones are or not. The reciprocating saw, give me the versatility for doing wood or metal or whatever I might need to use it on. Blade brand doesn’t matter.

We had about an inch of snow this morning, but it’s melted off already. Now the weather is going to get nice and we’re supposed to be heading into the 60s next week which is way above normal. No complaints here. Then I can get out and rake up some of my yard and clean up Doggy Doo from the winter.

Yesterday I was really tired all day. Just did some reading and napping all day. Of course, I couldn't get to sleep last night so am tired again today. No naps tho. Will get to bed early tonight.

Have been watching the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. It has been raining heavy there, and yesterday, 3 large pine trees blew down during a wind storm, right onto the golf course so they had to suspend play the rest of the day. Luckily, everyone was able to run when they heard the trees snapping and no one got hurt. Not too fun to watch them play in the rain today. They couldn't play this afternoon either so they are replaying the earlier play on TV. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Tiger Woods actually played well enough (barely) to be able to stay and play for the weekend. That is pretty darn good since it was just a year ago since his bad car accident when they didn't know if he would ever be able to play golf again.

I have the AC on today. It is about 90* today so I had to turn it on. Had the windows open over night tho with a nice breeze blowing thru. Maybe I can do that again tonight. Will be 93* tomorrow!

Those little dogs across the street are driving me crazy! When they all start barking it sounds like about 10 dogs barking! Then the lady starts yelling at them (which doesn't work) and that is almost as annoying as the barking! I hope they leave soon! I am sure I am not the only one who is getting tired of it.

I have a small ham steak, boxed scalloped potatoes, Hawaiian rolls, and cole slaw for lunch tomorrow, plus chocolate silk pie for dessert! Will probably make the potatoes tonight since they taste better after sitting overnight. Will watch the rest of the Masters tomorrow.

Karen, you are right about the rain in Louisiana, it doesn't fool around. lol I lucked out that I only got 4 inches. Cameron, which is about 60 miles West of here got 13 inches. It's suppose to rain again Tuesday and Wednesday. I have been looking at the small chain saws and wondering how good they are. You will have to give us a review when you use yours.

Anne, I try to stay out of Hobby Lobby. There is nothing there that I need but I will buy something even if it's just candy. My friend that moved to New Orleans wanted to go to Hobby Lobby every time we went shopping. Harbor Freight is more my style.

I don't know what I will have tomorrow. I didn't buy anything to cook so it will have to be something out of the freezer. I never made it to Sam's for a cake but I sure thought about going.

I am enjoying my time with my eldest dd and her family one granddaughter I've seen a total of 2 minutes... she has a boyfriend getting pretty serious from the sounds of it hopefully I will get to meet him... if they marry then I will have two grandson's by the same name... two of my brother's daughter's marry gals with the same first name it can get confusing...
not done much this couple of days enough to go out but just relaxing... didn't even crochet yesterday... need to go find it soon and work on it... also they have requested cake and dip so need to make the cake for that either tonight or when we get home from church tomorrow probably that is when it will happen
I made the mistake of stopping at a nursery I went looking for a either very small bag of orchid potting soil or better yet a open one where you could buy a quart ziploc bag full that type of thing... but they didn't have and since I spent almost 50 on stuff I decided when we got to Walmart the bag will work cause as I've said I shouldn't be allowed to go into a nursery... I got 3 airplants, a pot for the orchid and a family of the cutest hedge hogs yep totally needed items... dd #2 likes hedge hogs
not sure if I mentioned that I took the car in to have the brakes checked they were ok but the tranny fluids needed flushed and refilled so that was done and I picked up the car yesterday so stopped by a Oriental shop and got the dark soy sauce plus other stuff was fun to roam through...
tomorrow going to my son's house for Easter dinner
did get my walmart shopping done other than for a couple of items I think I will get in Idaho Falls on the way through...
Sounds like it will be a nice apartment Anita and glad you made it through before the rock slide...
with the amount of snow on the deck I don't know if we will be able to plant the containers by Memorial Day or not... we will hope it's warmed up a bit
I heard about the trees falling and thought of you Barbie wondered if you had seen it

Karen, please let us know how you like your new saw. Sue, your post reminded me that I have an electric (not battery) reciprocating saw out in the garage somewhere. I haven't used it in at least ten years, but maybe I'll see if I can find it (and see if it works!) before I fork out some bucks for a chainsaw.

Too many goodies to look at in there. My house is full enough with "stuff" as it is! Don't need more. . . but maybe I'll get just one more "thingee"?

Anne, always wear face/eye protection when cutting ! I have a Helmet with attached ear muff hearing protection amd face shield for outdoors and a face shield for indoors, plus 2 different type eye protection goggles. (Husband was often a safety officer for units he was in). I'm ever more conscious of protecting my eyes since I no longer have heavy poly glasses covering my eyes! I love my multifocal lens implants and want to keep enjoying my vision!
I agree with Sue, a reciprocating saw is very handy. I have a collection of Ryobi tools plus several chargers and lots of batteries.

Sue. I think there is a guard on the top of them that would keep that from happening (flying towards you).
