Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And Now It’s Tuesday, 4/4

Good Morning Cloudy, 31°. Evening showers in the forecast. Looking at possible severe weather tomorrow. That seems funny with snow still on the ground. But it’s been melting so tbere is also bare ground around. Lot of people in Gaylord especially the mobile home park will probably be getting nervous. Only been 9 months since tornado. Neighbors and I continue to prep for whatever comes our way. Thry have their emergency packs about ready for camping trips and are getting the crawl space under the house set up. She thanked me for giving thrm that information I posted on here about prepping for severe Weather. Says she now feels secure if bad weather hits the campground while they are there.

Barbie, in regards to hot dogs. I can keep mine in the fridge for awhile in a plastic freezer or food storage bag, but if they are frozen, I just throw them in a pan and boil them. I like them that way. Makes them nice and juicy. Mom always did hot dogs that way. We never fried thrm, but would do them on the BarBQ sometimes. It’s interesting how different people do them them.

Will be doing some more work in my storm room today. Just about done with the shelving project. Had to do some jury rigging to get the wire shelf up in the closet. Shelving came from a closet upstairs and the one downstairs is a few inches longer. So cut and fit with some 2x4’s and 1x4’s I had here did the trick. Still finishing that up. That will be enough shelving. I can work on getting supplies and clothing and stuff down there. Decided that I am going to unpack my backpack and put the stuff in plastic bins for down there. Then will go to the store and pick up bottled water and some other food stuffs to store down there as well as food and stuff for the dogs. Kind of a fun project with exception of a little exasperation getting the shelving in place

Looks like everybody’s getting busy with spring coming. Some taking trips, Anita packing up to move, Anne up to no good as she says  Shirl busy with her plants and container garden. Looks very nice by the way,. Karen, sick of rain but getting new wheels. Red is my favorite color. I love red. My first car, a Chevy Impala as red with a black vinyl top. I’ve had dark green, dark blue, two tone green/white white, orange/white, reds over the years. I’ve only owned two cars, the rest being SUV’s or pickups. This is my current ride. The truck I was using to pull my last trailer. 2017 Chevy Silverado. I live this truck and will keep it for awhile. 77,000 miles on it. Like others of you, not in a hurry to get one with all the modern tech. That stuff doesn’t help with all the idiot drivers on the road in the days anyways.
Image

Time to go finish breakfast and the change my bed, run the vac and head to the basement. Have a couple bags full of recycles to take up to the bins later today and get them out of my garage. Sowill be busy. Have a nice day everyone.

Morning Sue and All. 66° and sunny. Puttering on the balcony today and deciding what I will plant. I am so limited on space so need to get rid of some stuff. A potting shed is on my bucket list. I would be happy to live in a cute shed. Lol Sue, could you build me a she shed? I would squat on the corner of Delmarva Power’s property across the street. Anne, are you game for a fight. Day dreams of a crazy plant lady. Lol Karen wishing you some sunshine. I need to get on with the day. Be safe

Good morning, cloudy and 35° I dont see rain yet but I am sure it will come. I will just be pouting about it for a while until I see the sun. It was chilly outside too when I took Emma out. Now sipping my first cuppa joe. Henry will be working again today then he gets a couple of days off. I have an appointment tomorrow morning with my pulmonologist. Just a follow up to my last cat scan that she called and said very much improved. I also have to go to the lab and get bloodwork done for my May appt with my PCP. I see her on May 2nd and wont have to go back til next year (unless ???) for a yearly physical. And wont have to see the pulmonologist either. Slowly but surely I am whittling down all these doc appointments. I see my eye doc every 8 weeks and my Rheumatologist so not much I can do about them.

Not sure what I will fix for dinner tonight. Was looking at some of my saved recipes but that would require me going to the store so guess I will just thaw a few scallops and have that for dinner unless I get a hankering for something else.
I am not too much of a hot dog eater. I like them fried or grilled, I dont care for boiled anemic looking dogs ha ha I like mine a little crispy on the outside. I like the Beer Sausage better.

My new soundbar is working great, I might see if I can resurrect the old one just to see if I can ha ha It kept cutting out so read a few problem solving suggestions online so we shall see, In any case I will just put it in another room or the trash.

Going to have some quiche this morning for breakfast that I thawed last night. I might make a crustless quiche later today. It is so easy to just scoop it out and warm it in the micro for a quick and easy breakfast. I have bacon in the freezer and some sausage links but I dont eat too much of that so it lasts quite a while. I need to get cooking and freezing meals again as my supply is dwindling.

Lol! I totally agree!

The winds have finally calmed down again. Sky is back to being blue instead of brown. I am sure everything outside is a dirty mess tho.

Still in bed and not too motivated to get up yet. Will see what the day brings...

Have a good one!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It's another warm day, 81 and windy again. Last night the Lafayette weather said the high for the day beat the record high for that day by about 20 degrees. They are having a lot of record highs. I put the ficus tree on the carport so hope we don't have another cold spell. There are sure a lot of tornado warnings in the country.

I was stopped at a red light by one of the car dealers and was admiring a red, GMC suv so looked it up on line when I got home. It's several years old and they still want $40,000 for it.

I have my meeting tonight and need to go to the bank, post office, pick up cat food at the feed store, go to Walmart, pick up a margarita and go to my meeting. We'll see if I can get all that done in one trip. I also need to pick up gas for the mower but that would mean going to town in the truck and I don't want to do that. If there had been something I wanted at the deli today I would have gone early and done my errands. The deli has fried pork chops today and their pork chops are alway dry. Decided to make a tuna salad. I can't remember the last tuna salad I made. The cats are slipping, Sugar got to lick the cans.

I don't eat hot dogs often either. Last summer I discovered they come out great in the air fryer.

Karen, right now I'd take rain. I thought the clouds would at least mean the humidity level would go up some. The humidifier helped overnight when the cool air meant I shut windows. The open windows with it being a windy day, but still humidity in single digits and quickly the 30% level it gained overnight was knocked down to under 10% inside again. I must say it's 80 degrees in here and comfortable temp wise at this level, but my hair is a disaster (I'm learning to use lotion on my hands and then run them through my hair). It helps.

The landscape young woman apologized to me but I guess I'll expect to have bad to no water pressure some days she's working. I do understand so I'll plan differently and it'll work out.

After a beautiful and sunny yesterday, by the time I got to the RV park near the visitor center in White Rock, just a few miles away, the temps had drastically dropped and the wind had arrived. Strong wind warning for last night and all day today and maybe even tonight, so in the middle of the night last night, when the slide toppers were flapping and the rig was rocking, I got up and put them both in. Do not want my relatively new slide topper awnings to tear. Then, after checking the weather further, I decided to hang out here today instead of going back to Los Alamos today to the Bradbury Science Center. Just too windy for even a short drive, and high today was 41 degrees. Crazy weather.

I have left the slides closed, which is OK, though a bit cramped. I paid for another night, but am hoping the winds slow down by 9 pm tonight as predicted. At least there are no sand storm warnings as there are around Albuquerque! Warnings there are not to go outdoors unless necessary as blowing sand can cause Valley Fever because the sand is likely to contain mouse feces!! :o

So, I'll head to science museum tomorrow and then one more night here and head through Albuquerque to Acoma Pueblo Casino RV park. Will stay three nights there to see museum and do some laundry in RV park laundromat. Have two weeks reservation in Zion starting next Tuesday. Been looking forward to that place!

It is windy and 8o degrees here today and I gave in and turned on the A/C. Another round of storms is supposed to come through tonight and we are on the edge of the strong winds or possible tornadoes warning. I stopped at the local Schnucks store today and should have picked up some bottled water but I think I was in sticker shock from everything else and forgot. One lemon was '$1,29 and so many things I used to buy are gone. I like the Creamette brand of tiny shell macaroni and they had a total of one box of the Creamette brand in the store and it wasn't shells. I don't usually do the grocery shopping so when I do go I'm always shocked. Then I went to buy postage stamps and discovered they are now .63. I usually buy quite a few at once so hadn't noticed the last couple of changes. I came home and had a glass of wine and a short nap.

I have been thinking of a go-bag since several of you have mentioned getting a backpack and putting one together. Anyway, I started thinking of what I should put in one, and posted the start of a list in the General area question about being prepared.

I am hoping some of you can add some other things to my potential list.

with the to go bag I could never figure out where to put it and the meds how do you put meds in and keep them up to date but with most RX you have a limited amount and can't get new ones until your amount is through... I'm not sure if I explained that well
I'm with those that like the hot dogs fried or grilled now that I have an A/F I really like them in it...
it's chilly for some reason could be because it is 20 outside and that seems to effect the inside some I also don't have a sweat shirt on that is probably the real reason...
still need to pack have mom packed except for her meds and need to decide if I am going to send her lap top with her... for Sunday night chat... I probably should put her stuff in the living room so db can find all of her stuff.... he is coming in the morning but after I leave we decided that a couple three hours wouldn't hurt...
I had hoped to put all that wasn't necessary for the morning in the car but that's not happened the two boxes of books are out there... I hate the thought of packing the smaller bottles of oxygen out they are in a case of 6 and to me are heavy... had thought niece would come over but she didn't
I was going vacuum but that isn't happening... I guess I've always not been the best housekeeper which is weird because I was in housekeeping for several years... there has been an ad for made service 19 dollars I'm sure it's the first visit and goes up and doubt that it is here where I am...
I guess I should go turn on the dishwasher I do use mine.. or rather my mom's  I normally turn it on in the AM every other day but don't want it to run with no one here although mom would be but if something happened that leaked it would create a problem and don't want that to happen
you all take care need to go get my game fix before I go to pack

Sheila, I fill all my prescriptions for 90 days, and usually my insurance will pay for a refill a few days before the end of the 90 days. I keep four weeks of counted-out, weekly pill boxes. That allows me some leeway if I need to go somewhere like I did to London, and also I am not constantly looking for a Walgreens, where all my prescriptions are filled.

I guess I would have to switch out a week's supply of pills every once in a while to make sure they are fresh. You made a very good point, however. It is something I would have to consider and remember to do.
