Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday~March 24th

Mornin' ladies~~~

Time is winding down here in Tucson. Scheduled to leave on April 1st. Haven't been doing a whole heck of alot, including planning routes to the PNW. Still keeping an eye on weather, snow melt, flooding, etc. So far only booked to Vegas.

I'll be up in Apache Junction for a month when I leave here. Planning on slowing getting back in shape, hiking to see the wild horses. And not am I out of shape! Took the camper for some minor warrenty repairs on Monday, and between the heavy 50 amp cord and bending, my muscles felt it for 2 days. As Gram used to say, it's hell to get old.

Have a good day everyone and Happy Spring!

Morning Cheryl and All, woke up to darkness and pouring rain. Going to be rain and gloom until tomorrow. I feel like someone beat me with a hose. Stumbled across a YouTube video about aging and balance loss. I felt like he was talking to me. Saved that video and the video of exercises to help. Loss of balance sneaks up on you. Have several loads of laundry to do. teriyaki chicken stir fry for dinner. Be safe

Shirl, I love the balance videos on Body Groove. They are on you tube but I subscribed for the year for the app which I love, along with its Facebook group. It's great fun dancing to the music and learning moves to help balance, strength, endurance, cardio, etc. I pick and choose each day which I want to do.
It's sunny and headed to 60°here. After a low energy day yesterday, I think I can get more done today. However Miss Stormy wanted attention off and on all night, so I may need a nap to keep up.
Have a good day.

Boy Shirl, I know what you are talking about when you talk about losing your balance! I always try to keep hold of something when in a precarious spot. Also, everything tech I have is an Apple. My son-in-law was an Apple person. I followed in his steps.
Hey Cheryl, hope the start of your summer travels goes well. Where are you staying in Apache
Junction? I used to stay there frequently. I probably wouldn’t recognize the place now.
I do miss my traveling days. Carol, hope you and Bill can get home soon.
Beautiful day here today. Just saw your post Velda. Sounds like fun. I will check it out!

Good morning. Shirl it is cold, cold breeze, damp and rainy. Sums up to be a miserable day. I havent been complaining about the rain as we really needed it, and probably still do BUT I am on the edge of saying NO MORE RAIN I need sunshine or at least somespartly sunny days so I can get some stuff done in the yard.
Bought 2 new shower heads so will install one today and see how it does. I dont need fancy I just like the bigger shower heads. They were not expensive so not much risk there.
Going to make a couple casseroles today or tomorrow so I can make some do ahead meals. I like being able to just pull them out of the freezer and zap in the micro. Add a small salad I have a good meal. Henry did his job this morning, I cleaned up the kitchen, took my garbage out as they are usually here by 10:30 but I like to get it out earlier just in case. Watered my plants and threw a load of whites in the laundry....whew I am just exhausted ha ha ha Alexa informed me my cartridge needs replacing soon in my laser printer she wanted me to order another ha ha I already have a couple of cartridges I bought on sale so that was a NO.

Time for some lunch

Cold and windy here in NM, still. High today is supposed to be 45 and low tonight 27. Brrrr. But at least the sun is occasionally coming out. Weather Alert today is that there will be a possibility of snow squalls from 10:00 am on March 25 to 7:00 pm on March 24. Yup. That is not my typo. Supposed to be warming up a bit next week, but I am not going to come here again in March.

Staying inside today and going to work on some projects. I got the parts for my broken drawer latches, so I am going to fix those, plus some other minor stuff. Tomorrow, I am going to drive to Santa Fe and visit a couple of museums.

Good Afternoon. Finally dragged myself out of bed. Have been having a heck of a night. Got my second shingles shot yesterday and about 1 a.m., got a bad case of chills, followed by a headache, nausea, dizziness etc. could stand up for more than a few minutes without feeling like was gong to pass out. Actually crawled on my hands and I eyes to the kitchen at one point to get some water. Back to bed and back to sleep. Did aCovid test, but negative. Little research showed that this is side effects that can happen after getting a Shingles shot. Should clear up in about a day or two. I took some of my ass so my Acetaminophen to control the headache. Am sitting g here in my chair watching the weather channel. Just finished having something to eat so I can get some food in my tummy. I don’t wanna go without you since I haven’t had anything to eat with the exception of a protein bar since about 5 o’clock last night. I’ll live  I think I’m going to take a short little stroll. I’ll check my mailbox and get some fresh air and bring in my mail in a little bit. I know when I got the first shot I had shells on and off for quite a while and I remember some of you saying that you had noticed that you were also getting chills.

Lyn, I didn’t see your question about IPad till Shirl alerted me to it. I bought an Apple IPad Air, the latest generation, think it’s 16. 256 GB.
I really like it. 10.6 inch screen doesn’t sound like much, but rhe resolution is fantastic. There are of course some changes on it over the older ones and it does not have that home button. You just put your finger on the bottom of the screen and you can scroll it right straight up and it will bring up everything you need at the home page. I also bought the Magic Keyboard, but that’s not essential as there is the on screen keyboard. . That’s a little bit small but it’s pretty neat. They should be told. I really haven’t used it all that much but I wanted to get it to do my business on. I’m still using my old one, but that one is a good back up in case this older one goes poof one of these days. Its battery life goes fairly quick. Plus I wanted to make sure that I can get everything transferred to the new one. That was a piece of cake. I’m really happy with it. For what I do online, I really don’t need a computer. Plus I got so tired of windows. sending updates every time you turn around. I would have to learn how to do it, but I know that the iPad can be hooked up to a bigger monitor or even a small TV screen if you wanted to use something a little bit bigger. Like I said, with the resolution that it has, I find it easier to read then I did my computer screen.

Winter Storm heading in tomorrow. Looks like 8-10 inches of heavy wet snow.

New flooring was laid in the bathroom yesterday. Had planned to cut and install new moldings today, but obviously not going to happen.
I spend the evening watching that WebCam up at the Soo locks. The locks are opening tmorrow morning at 12:01 AM. Time there are at least four ships lined up waiting. The first one to go through, has been there since yesterday and they have a special ceremony to recognize the ship for being the first one to go through the locks when they reopen for the shipping season. Never know from one year to the next, which one is gonna be. It’s kind of a race to get there to be the first one.

Judy, that's pretty normal temps for this time of year in that part of NM. I've had a snow storm in that area in mid to late April before. On the other hand it's been a hotter and windier time in the part of South Texas where I'm at. The wind is supposed to calm this afternoon but we could hit 100 degrees! this afternoon. Cools down a bit for the weekend. I'm hoping the area of Texas I'm heading to stays with the somewhat cooler temps they normally have for at least another month.

Today I did my grocery pickup from 3 stores. Got everything I wanted and back quickly. Most has been repackaged but a few more to do tonight yet. HEB has wonderful coconut shrimp and I still have a little in the freezer but now I have 5 or 6 more servings in the freezer. Just cook in the air fryer with sides/veggies. Yum. I've been doing this about once a week, now can continue for a bit. Anyway, my fridge, freezer and cupboards are overflowing.

Sue, I had mild side effects from my 2nd shingles shot. Someone asked if I regretted getting it. Not for a second. I've seen what shingles itself can do. I never got the first vaccine, but after this one came out so much more effective, I got in line.

Well, I don't remember getting a 2nd shingles shot! Got the first about 2005. Will get on that! Hope you feel better soon, Sue! Tina, what a nice surprise!

Sun is trying but mostly cloudy. I am surprised how quickly the snow, even the huge piles, is melting. I need to get both vehicles serviced now that weather is better. Sheila, we had a prediction of a bit of snow yesterday - didn't happen. Karen, a sunny day thrown in once in a while sure helps! 2 very exciting basketball games yesterday - got the heart pumping! Some of the moving boxes people passed along are rather funny - almost too big for me to handle empty let alone packed! :)

Cheryl, I don't know if this is up your alley. We saw them a couple times many years ago in Colorado when more of the family was involved. They are originally from where my aunt lives in Kansas. https://www.barleensdinnershow.com/

Well I think I'd better start on my Ark! Yesterday it was 80 degrees with sunshine. Today it is 45 and with heavy rains. Some of the lower areas are under flood watch I think that must include our back yard. I have done very little except read and think about what I should be doing. I'm reading books by Jean Grainger and can't remember ever finding so many written by the same author I have enjoyed. So far I've read all 5 of the Kilteagan Bridge Story series and I"m on the 4th of The Star and the Shamrock series.

Sue I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to the shingles shot. I would tell your doctor, maybe they report severe reactions. TIna what a great surprise. Enjoy!!

The rain seems to have slacked off a bit so I should send the dogs out to potty.

I got a shingles shot when you only had to take one and I don't remember what year. Since they have the new ones I think it's two shots. I was going to ask the doctor if he recommended that I take the new ones but I forgot. I can probably ask that question online and get 100 answers.

I went to Lafayette to bring my son some papers he needs to fill out for a doctor's appointment Monday. Stopped at Lowe's and Home Depot to look at patio furniture. They didn't have the chairs I want. Most of them come in a set of 4 chairs and a table. I only want two chairs. Lowe's had the closest to what I want but the weight limit was only 225. I have family members that weigh a lot more than that. I might as well order the chairs and have them delivered instead of looking all over for what I want. I needed some cat food for the outside cats and didn't want to go to the feed store. I stopped at Petsmart and spent $90 on cat food, dog food and dog treats.

The last few days it has been so humid that everything outside is damp and wet in the morning. It has been overcast all day but it looks like the storms are going to go North of here. The Weather Channel says the wind is 18 mph but I think they are stronger than that. It jerked the storm door out of my hand. My brother sent me a picture of him snow blowing the path to his house. The snow is almost up to his shoulders and he's not short. Not for me.

Sue! Funny typos this morning! Funny too, that this one is NOT a typo on your part! :? The weather has been weird all over but now it is going backwards! :o

Weather Alert today is that there will be a possibility of snow squalls from 10:00 am on March 25 to 7:00 pm on March 24. Yup. That is not my typo.

Tina, that was a nice surprise visit with your son!

BJ, I think you can buy an ark from California. I think we are building a lot of them out here now!

I have been looking at cannabis jobs out here since I have experience with that and enjoyed it, but they have all been full-time positions. Then this morning I got a notice from Indeed on-line job search, that there is a part-time cannabis job available thru a temp service. I called about it and have an interview on Monday morning. I have to get a live-scan done for it so I thought I would get that done today since it takes up to a week to get that approved once you apply. I drove up to Desert Hot Springs about a half hour away, only to find out that I can't get it done until after the interview and get an application from the temp service. Darn! DHS is kind of a low-rent dumpy desert town in the northeast valley but I did a little shopping at their $2 Store and got lunch at Burger King, before heading back home. So now I wait until Monday...

Was very windy yesterday and again today. Cooler out but still feels nice. My eyes are burning a little from the dust blowing, especially when I was up in DHS. The winds are stronger up there and lots of desert dust blowing around.

Need to get some stuff done around here. Now that my house is off the market, I can put my stuff back where I want it so I can find it easier. Maybe I will come across the lost library book and a few other things I haven't been able to find! :?

I hope Carol and Bill are doing better!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good late afternoon - we are doing okay. Bill seems to have more feeling minutes every day. But he is still very tired and wears out very east. Also he started to have some real problem with his eyesight. Everything looks wavy to him, started when he first got sick. I seem to have a milder case. Mostly feel okay, then get periods of coughing, sneezing and nose blowing. Also woke with a sore throat this am. It is not bad.
BUT we finally got our Dish TV up and running and a new Verizon MIFI - which for some reason changed its username during the night. I could reconnect to it once I figured it out, but could not get Bills laptop to even find it. So managed to make my phone a hotspot for him to use his laptop with. No idea how I managed that. But it is done.
Weather here is good finally, sun and no wind. Some things are getting better. Going to pay for another week here in Amado. Might leave before the week is up. If we need it our son from Vegas will come here and drive the RV home.
