Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday March 14

Morning All, 36°cold and windy. Wish I had something exciting to post but nada. Usual household chores and a run to Food Lion for sour cream. Going to try the Irish soda bread recipe I posted in recipes. I’m only a tiny fraction of Irish but that will do. Lol Be safe

Sunshine Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:09 am

Morning. Beautiful sunny morning here at the 45th. But was a chilly night. Temp is 17°. Warmed up a bit from the 11° when I got up. Having a little blast of January temperatures here. Supposed to be in the low 30s today and then low to mid 40s tomorrow. Neighbor across the road just came up from their downstate home. Has about 2 1/2 foot pile of snow at the entrance of the drive and at least another foot snow or less in the drive. So had to park on the road and climb over the snowbank and go to the garage to get the tractor out to get the driveway cleared. He has a tractor with a bucket, so he He can just push the stuff up on out of the way. Hasn’t been here in about a month.

Not getting into much here todsy. I was asked by our Otsego Community Foundation if thry was could interview me for the April newsletter. So I will be heading up there in a couple of hours. I am one of the Legacy members, meaning that I have named the foundation as a recipient/beneficiary of my estate. I believe very strongly in the works of this organization, and they do a tremendous job at it.

So I guess I will go and hop in the shower and get my hair washed so I don’t have to rush at the last minute. By the time I get home, it will be time to take the girls for a WALK. We just took a short one yesterday as I mentioned. We will see how it goes today.. Watching the weather all around the country and it looks like a number of you are getting stormed on in more ways than one. Shirl, I see you have a nor’easter out that way, but it looks like it’s north of you.

It's a chilly, blustery, rainy, gusty 58° here. Blowing like crazy at times. Over 3 inches rain for March, as of now and more to come. Just stayi g in today, letting storm pass. Will walk on treadmill and watch the rain out my window.

Just about noon here, so happy noon!

Got up to go putt this morning. There were 8 of us so two groups to play. No formal rules now so we had a fun, relaxing time. It is cloudy this morning with a slight, cool breeze. Was perfect for playing! I did really well too!

We are supposed to get rain now this afternoon thru tomorrow with wind coming in again. It feels humid again today too.

I noticed a lot of the snow has melted from our local mountains to the west but luckily no flooding. At least there won't be a ton of snow melt with the incoming rain since there isn't a lot left to melt. The snow from the mountains north of here (north and east of LA) runs into the Whitewater River and into the canal that runs thru the valley here. So far it is still dry. There is a lot more snow from those mountains left (Big Bear, etc) so we might see runoff coming from there into the river/canal later this week.

Have a nice day!

Good afternoon. Another cloudy cool day but only a few sprinkles so far, unlike yesterday where it ppured all day long. I am finally getting my sleep pattern back to more normal. Still having some trouble going to sleep but woke up today at 6:30 so much better. Took Emma to the groomer just up the street a bit, it takes her about an hour which is super. Other times when I took her it was about 2 or so hours. So I really like this little gal that does her but I usually have to book a week or so in advance. This time when I called she said I have an opening at noon.....I said I will take as it was only 10:30 so had time to get presentable. Only takes me 3-4 minutes to get there. So while she was gone I made some potato salad and when I came home I put some ribs in the oven to slow cook so that is dinner with leftovers YAY

Put a load of towels and some whites in so will dry and fold them when they are done. Henry was on the job today but his time was screwed up, probably from DST change so I just fixed his schedule. He has the next 2 days off LOL

Glad to see Anne is keeping a good watch on the dam levels. It is interesting to me because even when I lived in Redding we were always focused on the low levels not the high. Altho there was a time or two where the Sacramento river got quite high. My friend lived right on the river and it looked pretty treacherous to me.

Heating up a bowl of Tortellini soup. Froze the rest of the broth and veggies but didnt put the tortellini in, will do that when I thaw it out to eat. I am usually only good for two days with leftovers. Then I want something else LOL

Not much going on here today. It has been overcast and windy all day. I gave up trying to keep the rubber runner on the carport down. The high today was 67 and it's headed down. The low is suppose to be 43 tonight. I'm glad I waited to take the Ficus tree out. We are suppose to have storms Friday so might not be a good time to camp. I just found out that there are FEMA trailers in some of the sites and they are suppose to be removed by tomorrow. I hope they let us know before I get on the road that we have sites. About all I have done today is wash two loads of clothes and let Sugar and the cats in and out. I call Rascal the revolving door cat. That's what he needs. He will come in the back door and go to the front door wanting out. I guess he thinks that is a short cut. lol

Karen, that's handy that you have a groomer so close. I wish there was someone close to wash Sugar. She is good about standing in the shower but the bathroom is a mess after her bath. I cooked ribs Sunday and there are still some in the refrigerator.

I watch the lake level on Toledo Bend Lake because the fishing is not good if the lake is down. My sister wants to go to the lake but it's a waste of time if we can't fish.

today it was in the 40's so watched all the icicles disappear we've had this huge one it's dropped then another one that started into a backwards J then down it was actually interesting to see but it didn't get much of a chance to go down very far...
the planters on the deck are now visible and the pink flower on my metal flower (there is three of them) is starting to reappear so snow is melting but we are due to get more tonight and tomorrow although the last time I looked the chance of snow has changed from 90 to 50 so it will be a miracle if we get snow... we still need it.... but now we would welcome rain...
they brought some new tanks the portable ones in case I do go to Utah so I have plenty... this is the first time I've seen a charge for it other than the monthly charge for the concentrater it was a shock not sure if I should call about in case they over looked when the first ones were delivered and I get another charge...
went to the store just in case we do have a storm
made taco's for supper... after all it is Tuesday and copied down the tortellini soup recipe so one day we will give it a try
other than that the day was a bust
