I just paid for an extra night at this RV park. I was up before 7 knowing it was windy, but it already was. Most are leaving but I will take an extra day. I was completely ready though, only electric to unhook. That won't change for tomorrow, which is predicted with low winds. Martha is still intending to leave. She's only got about 80 miles and I hope she can mainly stay on back roads. Meantime I went to the tent for a kolache which I've saved for later. I grabbed some apple slices and caramel for breakfast. I should have plenty of time to see if I got any decent pictures from last night.

Good brrrr chilly morning. When I got up we had a light dusting of snow under an inch. My road out front was just wet. About an hour later we had big flakes steadily falling. It is only lightly snowing right now and should melt rather quickly as our temp rises to a whopping 41 lol My neighbor drove up just as I was taking the pic he said the roads were bad out there right now. My snow is nothing like Sheila's ha ha We need all the moisture we can get to avoid such devastating fires we are known for lately. Last year was pretty good but we still had some bad fires but not as bad as the years before. Snowpack is building so that is a plus. I am just staying inside today anyway.

Beth good plan to just hang out until driving conditions are favorable. I have had to do that many times and did not regret a minute of it. If there was somewhere I had to be I always gave myself plenty of time to get there. Safe driving for Martha today.

Just had some breakfast and now time to clean the bathrooms and swiffer the floors. I need to work on my Income tax so might do that later.........or not LOL

It’s a snowy and then icy rainy day here today. The snow came earlier this morning and then changed to the icy rain soon after. Temps are hovering at just about 32-33 so I don’t imagine we’ll get much melting for awhile. And tomorrow is supposed to be 67! With 38 the next day. It’s crazy. But at least we aren’t getting what is happening west of here. I imagine Sue will be dealing with much more than we are here. I had a chiropractor appointment later today but they called earlier and I missed the call offering me a 10:10 for this morning but there was no way I could make it since I wasn’t even dressed yet! Her office is less than a mile from my house so that wouldn’t have been a problem but anyway when I called I asked about something for tomorrow and got a 3:20 time slot. So I won’t have to go out at all today! Buddy and I can just hunker down and stay inside. Except when he needs to go outside to do his business! ButI can stay under cover while he’s in the yard! Beth, glad you decided to stay an extra day and hope Martha makes it home safely. The wind we had yesterday was definitely one that I would’ve wanted to be out in with Lola. So far today we aren’t dealing with that too. I looked at my back driveway and see I have more twigs and small branches to get picked up! Nature’s way of pruning! So nothing else happening here. Just hoping everyone stays safe with this massive storm.

Smart to stay for another day, Beth. We are having 25-30 MPH winds here in Mesa, and I would not want to drive in this at all. I don't have stabilizer jacks, so I am rocking and rolling. Good thing I do not get seasick.

Making my reservations to go up into Ontario in the last half of August. It's a long way off, but I don't want to chance not being able to find places where I want to be. Found one really nice place near Hamilton on Lake Ontario that is very close to where my gg-grandparents from Yorkshire settled. (This is western Lake Ontario, south of Toronto.) Ontario has some great heritage/history centers that include geneological research help. Them up to a little town called Meaford and on to Sarnia, with a circle back to Michigan. I'll stay a couple of days there, and then drop down to Ohio.

And, Hey Sue!, I made four nights reservations at Traverse City for July 20-22 and at Hartwick for July 23-26.

I didn't get much sleep last night due to the high winds howling and stuff hitting the roof, etc. They say some gusts were up around 70mph. It is windy today but not nearly as bad as last night! I got up and got to my Dr appointment with no problem. She thinks it is a meniscus issue too. I am getting an appointment for an MRI and to see an orthopedic surgeon afterward. She said to stay off of my feet and rest the knee as much as possible and keep it wrapped when I am working. I am still having sciatica pain which affects that same knee but on the other side of it. I have my first therapy session for that next week.

My tummy is really churning and growling this morning! I tried a banana but that didn't help. Then I had some creamy tomato soup with soda crackers. A little better but still grumbling. :? So I am laying on my bed trying to relax and might take a nap shortly. Will just hang out here today.

The high today is only 53 but with the winds will feel much cooler. I have the heat turned on in my bedroom and a throw blanket over me. The dust was so thick all over everything outside this morning! I am glad I brought in the new chair cushions from the deck last night! There were palm fronds laying all over the streets this morning and in my yard and driveway. Probably what I kept hearing hitting the roof all night. The winds are supposed to die down this evening and then the rain will move in over night thru tomorrow. Highs only in the low 50's thru next weekend! The snow level will be down to less than 2000 feet tonight so the mountains will really be covered in white when this is over. Might even have snow on the lower mountains behind me in Joshua Tree NP.

Beth, good idea to stay put if you don't need to be someplace else. Martha has a smaller rig so she should be OK driving back.

Just saw these posted on our FB page...we now have sand-bottom pools! The pool guys sure have their work cut out for them today, along with the landscape crew!

Adding another photo that was posted on FB. This is a concrete patio table that was blown over! :o

I had one of those cement tables minus the tile, and it took three struggling men to carry it off the truck and put it on the post, so I can't imagine the wind it took it topple it!

Barbie, that's another reminder that we can't take mother nature in any form for granted. I was somewhat surprised (pleasantly) to realize about 1/3rd of the group here stayed another day. I'm intending to drive further than normal for me tomorrow, but it should be a great day for it and I'll stop at the beach I stayed a couple nights on the way here.

according the the percentage chance of snow and the temps believe that we are through with the snow for a bit tonight it is close to and will get into the negative... right now we are at 3 but is predicted to go down to -3 during the night actually early morning ... will need to go to the store tomorrow for milk if nothing else
and to pick up the mail hopefully that will have my forwarded mail and another tax form so I can go do my taxes...
hopefully all are safe that are in the path of this weather...
hope you all have a great day

She figures that my tummy issues are from all the Advil, etc, I have been taking for my knee and back pain. She prescribed a coated pain pill that will protect my stomach. Meanwhile, I will eat mild things.
