Rabbits! It's February

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits! It's February

Postby Bethers » Wed Feb 01, 2023 2:16 am

And we're already into the 2nd month of the year!

Martha, when I walked Ty it was around 40, but feels like temp was 31. And with the cold, breezy drizzle, it was cold on every walk, none of which lasted long. But nothing like further north in Texas is getting. It's supposed to be more of the same today.

I'm tired of eating my freezer food so think I'll take a ride into town today and get something different. Not sure what. I have a zoom meeting to attend for my coop on Thursday. If it ends early enough, I'll probably play poker Thursday afternoon. And if the weather isn't lying to me I think I'll go into Mexico Friday. Martha, unless you tell me otherwise, I have the two bottles you requested on my shopping list. Saturday I'll Zoom with the lady I'm talking with about a summer job. Fingers crossed we like each other lol

I did say rabbits at midnight. Hope it does me some good lol.

Nearly 2:00 a.m. here, Dreamland is eluding me, as it often does.

Saw your post, Beth, said "Rabbits" right out loud. Pretty sure I hadn't said anything to Joe after midnight, but who knows.

I could use a bit of luck, though. Just to be sure, I just said "Rabbits" again.

I forgot to say Rabbits this morning, but the sun is out and maybe some of the ice will melt! Irmi our power did stay on but every time we have weather extremes I regret not replacing our whole house generator, maybe this year. The photo is of Emma yesterday languishing on the couch. This morning she somehow knows that Nancy (her trainer) is coming for her and she is standing in the living room looking out the window with her tail wagging. Nancy seldom comes for her and I have no idea how Emma knows she is this morning. I am convinced though that dogs can read your mind. Beth I hope your weather improves, an afternoon poker game sounds fun. Judy I hope you don't get more bites and that the things you ordered will help if you do!

Good morning. Sunny and 16° With a real feel of 10 degrees. Heading into the teens today again. I I am going to be heading outside in a short bed here to look in the shed and see what I can find to attach to the bottom of my latest witchcraft project so I can set them outside. Between the snow and the ground being frozen, I can’t stake them out, so am going to set on my drive by the garage. I would like to put them out in our flower bed out front out there by the entrance , but the snowbank along the edge of the road is just a tad higher than I feel like climbing over. It is always pushed up a little higher along that area because of the plows pushing the snow off the highway into the entrance and then when they plow our road that snow gets piled on top of what or road has. We have a blast of Arctic air coming in tomorrow which is supposed to give us wndchills of of 20+ Below at night. Going to be short lived as a warming trend is coming behind it. Highs in the 30’s again  .

Beth, good luck on your interview on Saturday.

BJ, you snuck in just as I was going to post. Love the pic of Emma. I believe that dogs do is your mind because a lot of times when I’m thinking it’s about time for us to take a WALK, my two seem to start getting the vibes or something. I like the flying in your house too. Thank you should replace that generator because it sure will be a piece of mind for you. No it is for me. I can listen to the weather forecast and I don’t worry about what it’s gonna do. Every Thursday morning about 10 o’clock it starts up and exercise is itself for 5 minutes, so I know it’s just siting there waiting to get called to duty.

Off to the races here. Have a great day everybody.

Good morning ladies!

Beth, I hope things go well for you Saturday. BJ, that's such a cute picture of Emma. Sue, it's cold over your way. Dress warm when you go out. Anne, I hope your two Rabbits works!

I also said Rabbits. It's still mild in central FL with temperatures topping off around 80 degrees and the sun is shining. There is a talent show in the clubhouse that we'll attend this afternoon.

Happy ‘rabbits’ day friends. Sadly, I woke up to find my phone battery dead, and the word I said was NOT rabbits! The news of ice storm in Austin is very scary. A reliable weather person posted ‘it’s much worse than anticipated’. Today I meet with a gentleman to arrange placement of Dad’s headstone. Nearing the end of these responsibilities I think. Looking for signs of spring here at Lonesome ranch. Many birds and poppies have germinated! Best for a good day.

I thought about "rabbits" around 11pm last night but by midnight I forgot. Forgot this morning too and was talking to Romeow. Well, saying "rabbits" last month didn't help me much anyways...

my latest witchcraft project
Getting into a new hobby? :o

Have a few things to take care of today. I got the new handle for the slider door yesterday so I will put that on today.

There is a Tri-tip dinner here in 2 weeks so I will go buy a ticket for that today. I love tri-tip! They sell out fast so I need to get over there soon this morning.

We are supposed to start warming up here over the next week, into the mid 70's I think.

I am getting frustrated with this "hurry up and wait" with my house. :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Fell asleep in recliner, woke after midnight amd spoke to son before I realized time. But said rabbits a few times and said it again waking for my real morning, hope it helps.
Barb, your witchcraft comment was perfect! I was trying to decide on a comment!
Son, Chris, has surgery today to remove a painful lipoma in his arm. I think because I've had several removed through the years, that he thinks it's easy. He will find out.
I'm a bit stiff from last two days exercise so plan a rest day. I'm sure enjoying Body Groove dancing. Might do one of the yoga videos later to stretch out to music .
All the way up to 49° at nearing 10 am! Hoping predicted rain actually comes Friday!
Have a good day!

Good Morning, Boy, Texas really got hit with that cold front! Glad it stayed north of you Beth.
I am curious about the job you are interested in.
I too believe dongs can read our minds. Or some kind of ESP.
I completely forgot rabbits again.
This January was the wettest in 20 years here. Now our city is going to spend $240 million dollars moving 50 people off one street here!!! I could move them for a lot less.
Happy February everyone. Lyn

“my latest witchcraft project”, good catch Barbie. I guess you have discovered my secret side

This must be the day for crazy quotes because I noticed that Lyn also had a good one “I also believe dongs can read your mind” Welcome to the club Lyn.

I forgot how the quote thing works.

In the middle of the night, I got out a needle and tore a hole in the dark center of my insect bite, then tried to squeeze out the blood and liquid. Not much came out, but I was hoping that at least some of the poison was removed. Anyway, it is a little less red and less hot today, and not itchy at all. Devices are supposed to arrive Monday, but obviously that will be too late for this bite.

Slowly warming up here northwest of Phoenix. Had a lot of wind last night and was worried it would make it hard to drive to the dump and pick up my mail, but less windy now. I need to call the post office to see if my mail package arrived from my son. Might just dump tanks and head out to town tomorrow. Also need to do some laundry, so need to find a laundromat and schedule all of this.

Supposed to be a high of 65 today and 72 by Friday. WOW!! I am really getting tired of cold weather. Even wearing shorts today.

Also, Beth, I get tired of my own cooking, so when I can and that is not very often, I hit Trader Joe's to see what they have in frozen meals so I can try something I would never make.

Good afternoon everyone. I was up and out fairly early. Of course I didnt say Rabbits before I spoke to Emma. She is just so darn cute in the morning once she sees the whites of my eyes she wants her cuddles. Oh well. After I went out to go to Walmart I got my bags out of the car, went inside and put them in a basket and guess what..........no purse. Left it at home, so drove home, got my purse and tried again. Success this time. Also stopped at another market as I dont like Walmarts produce. Finally home, groceries put away, took the dog out and now it is time for lunch.

Lyn not sure Emma can read my mind but she can sure tell time LOL She knows exactly when 4:30 arrives........dinner time. Then starts bugging me around 7- 8pm to go outside to potty and then thinks we should go to bed. Nope not yet, soon but not yet. So she either snuggles with me in the recliner or gets in one of her beds. She wont go to bed without me tho.

This was our last extremely cold morning 23 today. Supposed to be in the low 30's soon. High of 52 and sunny so feels much better now. When the rain arrives later this week lows will be high 30's to low 40's...suits me much better.

Checking in for the month. I will admit that when I read a post with strange word combinations, but I also know that many of you post through your phones and your iPads and I am also never sure if anyone uses voice (dictation) which can produce as many "oops" posts as spell check or the predictive software does. I just translate in my mind and keep reading and hope that others give me a similar grace when they read what fat fingers can produce.

Nothing new here other than Jane's puppy Rowan turned 6 weeks old Tuesday and almost looks like a real dog now. Since pictures from my phone don't show up on my laptop anymore and I don't use my camera much at all....I am left with no pictures to post using the RVNet website. I am sure there is some convoluted method by opening multiple windows on my phone but as I actually have tried this step in the past, I find that my need to post a picture here does not overcome the frustration factor. So be it. But she is growing and developing her cuteness factor.

Jane has already restored her pre pregnancy figure plus the added spring of rib that looks good on her and visually gives her a positive look of more maturity.

Before I forget I want to thank many of you that have written about the wonders of the Airfrier. I found a small one on sale at the local Odd Lots before Christmas at a price that I could deal with if it turned out to just be another appliance that doesn't get used very often. I find it wonderful to heat up and then clean up after fixing fish for one. I do enjoy red meat occasionally but not enough to purchase and prepare at home. Even chicken is sometimes added to a meal as an afterthought.....but now I have a fish alternative to add to my precooked Shrimp that is wonderful to purchase and then thaw out in small lots only as needed in salads or added into a small portion of sticky rice. The amazing thing of getting older is how small portions need to be provide the needed calories. Later we can discuss how infrequently Gray Haired Lady hair needs to be washed and how long those of us who aren't sweating it out in high heat, performing manual labor or wandering around in dirt need to subject our drying out skin to hot showers. One of the reasons I get along so well with the RoadTrek. Sink baths work just fine.

Enjoy your month...with or without Rabbits. Or as Shel Silverstein wrote....all the magic I have known I've had to make myself..... Go make some magic happen.

I forgot Rabbits again. I even went to bed at midnight because I had to get up at 5:00. My son had an appointment with a back doctor. I keep hoping he can find one to help him but he was not happy. I couldn't get much out of him so don't know the plans. MEN!

It is 46 but feels colder than that because it's windy. Another gray day but so far it hasn't rained. The radar shows a lot of rain North of here. They had the air conditioner on in the waiting room at the doctor's office. I finally went and sat in the car so I could run the heater.

Beth, hope your job works out. Yes, I still want the two bottles. I sure hope we have good weather for the hangout. I have been trying to not buy a king cake. A store I stopped at this morning had some on a counter. I was going to go see what flavors they had but got sidetracked and forgot about the king cake. Sometimes it's good to forget things. lol

Sheila, your mother sounds like mine about the showers. She told me one time that all she heard out of me was bath, bath, bath. I haven't reached that point yet, I'm not a happy camper if I can't have a shower.

Tina, glad you are getting along with your air fryer. I sure love mine. I can cook a piece of steak in it and it's almost as good as grilled. I keep thinking about the steak we had at the banquet. The local stores don't sell good ribeyes and I haven't decided to go to Sam's. They sell them in packages of three. I'm afraid to guess what the prices are now. I have cooked chicken wing pieces in the air fryer and they come out good.

Evening all, I did say rabbits. It was a glorious sunny day and it really lifted my spirits. I dint realize how much until I experienced the long spell of gloom. Tried to place a Food Lion curbside and it wouldn’t accept any of my info so called FL, they said call Instacart who told me to call FL. I called FL who said sorry our system is down, call later. I called a couple hours later, placed order. Went to check out and it had added my last order again to this order. Gave up and cancelled order. Then I couldn’t enter any site on IPad. Thought this old timer really messed up. No wife because of outage. Going to give Shirl more credit in the future. It was a frustrating day but was ok because the sun was shining. Be safe
