Monday January 30

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday January 30

Good afternoon ladies!

We are having a warm, sunny day in central FL and it's going to be more or less like this all week. But I understand there are extremely cold weather areas all around us and colder temperatures expected tonight and into tomorrow. I am grateful that we aren't being affected by it this time. Although we have a cold front moving into the area this coming weekend, it will drop our temperatures into the 70's.

I'll be playing for a memorial service this coming Sunday in our resort to celebrate the lives of owners that died this past year. So we'll need to come straight home from the church service I'll play for that morning to make it on time. I sent out some more invitations for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration this morning. For some reason, they made it to friends in Maine but not to several people from our church in Ocala. They were all sent the same day from the same post office where we live and they were originally mailed well over two weeks ago. There is something drastically wrong with our postal system.

If you are in the bad weather areas, please take care.

BBBRRRRRRRR a chilly 19 degrees this morning. But the sun is out now and has warmed up to a balmy 33. Tomorrow will be cold again then I think we get back to more normal temps. Like the low 30's ha ha
Henry the Roomba was on the job again today, so far he is doing a good cleaning. So far so good. Nothing special on my agenda for today. Off to the shower and go get rid of all the cardboard in my car...that is it LOL

We made it back into 40's before 10! Brrr, was low 30's overnight. I need to get busy doing morning chores including bird, storm cat, and pills to son. Then execise and shower. Handyman due sometime today to start projects. Wednesday son Chris has a lipoma on his arm that has become painful and will be removed. That's about all the excitement for the week, I hope! Possibly some light rain twice, but I won't believe it until I see my decks wet. Have a good week everyonr.

Haven't dropped in in ages, but have my laptop out and decided to stop by. The ol' forum isn't nearly as busy as it used to be, with Facebook drawing most of us away. I have to say that I've made some of the best friends through this forum and large and small GTGs. Some great memories and some of the best years of my life were spent RVing. Who knows? I may be back out there, someday!

Judy, I think one of my main problems is the food in Louisiana is so good and a lot of it is fried. I guess I could order food grilled but where's the fun in that.

This morning it was very foggy and humid. Everything outside was wet including the cats. It is up to 74 and overcast. The inside temperature is 79 so guess I am going to have to turn on the air conditioner. They are still saying 90% rain Thursday and then it's going to cool off into the lower 40's. I still haven't decide if I'm going to the campout this weekend. It's not suppose to be as cold as they said the other day. My motorhome is ready to be picked up. I just have to find a ride. The controller had to be replaced, what ever that is.

I was going through old emails and deleting them this morning. That's a pain. They are hard to page thru without them jumping a month forward or backwards.

Linda, good to see you drop in.

I called Sugar's prescription in to Walmart this morning and it's ready. I never know if it will be right away or three days.

Had a few sprinkles last night--enough to make the grass that is starting to grow in the desert around here happy. And no doubt the burros will be happy, as well, as soon as it grows a bit more. It is strange to see a carpet of short green grass among the cactus!! Supposed to have a little more rain tonight and tomorrow afternoon, but probably not enough to raise the lake level here. Temp yesterday was "almost warm," like about 64, but today with the clouds it will be only about 55. Warming up for the weekend and may hit a whopping 70! Wow! Frankly, I have been in the Phoenix area several times over the past 10 years, and I cannot remember it every being this cold, especially at night being so close to freezing.

But then again, I should not be whining because it is a LOT colder for a lot of places in the country.

Big event this morning was cleaning out my upper corner cabinet. When I bought this rig, I thought this huge corner cabinet was a real plus. Ha! I have shelves in it to make it two levels, but I store all my plastic containers, liquid containers, bread pans, and my teapot in it. I even use the non-skid stuff, but when I drive, everything slides around, and then when I open the door, a bunch of plastic stuff falls out!! I am going to try to find some plastic containers with low sides that I can put in there so stuff won't slide as much. Might try Amazon since I can't find anything in stores. It did help to put all the lids in a couple of plastic bags, but rest still moves around.

Oh, and I discovered a mosquito bite on the back of my upper leg this morning. I wore shorts for last couple of days, but have not seen any bugs, though obviously there are a few in the desert. And, as most of you know, I get big reactions to mosquito bites, due to my CLL, even though I am still in remission. This one is still small, and i usually have problems when I get several bites at once, so maybe this one will go away without infecting. Mosquito bites almost sent me away from Florida last winter, but I am a glutton for punishment and am going back next winter.

good to see you Linda...
I had all sorts of stuff to reply about but it's gone so will reflect upon it later...
yesterday I got up and went to the bathroom brushed my teeth went back to my room flipped on the light and no light then realized that no sound from the concentrater either power was off had a text from niece asking if our power was out well now that you mention it yes...it was at this time 8:30 and of course wondered how wide it was and about church... almost immediately a text saying that there would be no church due to the power outage...pretty much half the town and North how far north I have no idea...
so hunkered down mom in her chair me in the bed warmest place that I could think of as we had no heat and no way to warm up... I told mom that I'd give us cold cereal but we both agreed that it didn't even sound good... in the afternoon niece and nephew came over to check up on us and to pick up our laundry so changed from one pair of pj's to another... the plan was if it didn't end and it got to unbearable niece would take us over to her mom's house (she has power... niece is nephew'[s wife) then I got a text from dd#3 then a phone call basically what are you doing staying in a cold house and on and on well we weren't that cold bundled up and plans for evening if it didn't come back on ect shortly afterwards the power was back on and I fixed supper... then just as I was going to do dishes out it went so we were in the dark literately for about oh 1/2 hour or so when it came on finished dishes and then we started having glitches mom kept wanting to adjust the clock I said why bother till we are fairly certain it is on when she did set it it was with the wrong time and I simply don't know how to fix that one finally got the stove time set yea!!!! but no internet nor tv... was glad to see in the morning that phone was back on house internet didn't know about tv as it hasn't been turned on till mom did about 4:00 so we are all up and having power guess it was an underground wire that had broken last I heard about 9 last night not everyone had power... not a good night to be without power it went down to -21 right now the computer says that it's -19 ugh not fond of the cold... or the snow or the....
although today was beautiful blue skies and the white snow is striking... then when you are where there is snow blue sky and red buttes that is gorgeous ...think Zion National park although we do have an area with red hill sides...
so we are with cold for a few days don't really have to go out in it had nephew take mail that had to be mail when he dropped by to make sure we had enough pellets and to bring the laundry back... went through a couple areas of the freezer tossed some old raspberries a few things the ice cream I thought would be nasty wasn't even iced over so did keep it need to start eating it though and worked on my Swedish Weave talked to my friend while doing so it's always good to talk to her she is the one that taught me how to do it... so it's always nice to visit while weaving... I'd heard that the Indian's always build in an error because no one is perfect that thought is always comforting when I make a boo boo on a crocheted afghan and either didn't find it in time or decided oh well I"m not perfect.... but friend and I decided that doing a Swedish Weave one can't build in an error... unless you messed up a color and that is too in your face
well what I wanted to comment oh still hasn't come... hope that Barbi had a nice showing today
Judy this time of the year can be really cold Nov Dec and Jan then it starts warming up I've seen it really cold out in the desert...
I know what is was the salmon patties how do you all make yours??? it was one of my husband's favorite meals I personally never enjoyed the way mil taught me as I'd never had it but I also liked them keep thinking they had to be moister...
you all have a great day if I hurry I can get a game in

Work was a bit slow today which is good since I get to sit down for awhile in between haircuts so I wasn't quite so much in pain by the time I left tonight. I did get stuck in one of the bathroom stalls when the door wouldn't open! Finally got out with the help of a woman pushing from the outside of it and me pulling! :o Then I had a little toddler in my chair who did NOT want a haircut. His parents were holding him down while I tried to cut his hair. At one point he started kicking his feet and ended up kicking me in the groin! Ouch! I did get a $20 tip from them tho.

Today is the 6th anniversary of my dad's passing. :(

I found out tonight that the people who were coming to see my place changed their minds at the last minute and decided not to look at it. :( Well, at least the house is nice and clean and looks nice. I feel like I live at the Hotel California. "You can check-out anytime you like, but you can never leave..." :o  Getting very frustrated

I have 3 days off and just have some laundry to do. I can get caught up on reading and some other projects. I have a couple of haircuts to do in the park. One before I play putters. I am in the new later group that doesn't start until 10:15.

I have been experiencing a lot of indigestion for the past week. Not sure what is causing that. Lots of grumbling and burping and a burning in my tummy. I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep until around 6am due to my indigestion and my brain racing. I probably have an ulcer from all the stress I have been dealing with!

I checked the weather on my phone this morning and it said "45* and snow showers" . Well it was sunny skies and definitely no snow, at least not here. On the way to work I could actually see the edge of the clouds over the mountains and see the snow coming down there. More snow on the way tonight and tomorrow with some rain here. We got just a few drops here today, just sprinkles.

Good to see you made it back on here Linda!

Have a good night...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good to see you here, Linda. I feel more comfortable here than in the FB group. I like it better to stay in touch with family and friends. We all do things differently, that's for sure.

Barbie, I'm sorry that they didn't even look. That's so frustrating. As to weather I'm carefully not complaining about the cold spell coming here overnight for a few days. It's nothing like the one in December although I guess it's much worse further north in Texas. We probably won't have lows get below 40. It's just funny to think I got up and turned the temp down to cause the AC to come on overnight last night and have my electric heater on tonight. Lol

Ty and I easily got our 10,000 steps in yesterday and today. I'm pretty sure we won't the next few days, but who knows.
