Blustery Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Blustery Monday

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Jan 23, 2023 10:40 am

Woke up early this morning, but I got to bed a little early last night.

The wind came up last night before I went to bed so I closed the windows in the porch to keep the dust out. I could hear the winds howling all night and they are still high. We are under a wind warning with 40 mph winds with gusts up to 65  . Will be a work inside day! No patio haircuts today! It is supposed to die down around 4pm. I hope it will be much calmer tomorrow so I don't have to drive in winds.

Gonna hang out in bed until I have to go do the haircut at 10. Then get busy finishing up around here and start packing. Won't need to pack much but just comfy shoes, jeans and a jacket. The forecast is 60* highs and mid 30's lows. Glad I won't be car camping! Brrr! :o

Have a nice day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Monday January 23

Postby Shirlv » Mon Jan 23, 2023 10:55 am

Morning All, it’s 41° and still cloudy. Nothing happening in my bubble so nothing to post. I have some house plants to repot and a couple spider plant pups to put in soil. I have no more floor space for plants so ordered an ordered a a vertical wire rack with adjustable shelves. I treated my self to Royal Farms fried chicken so leftovers for dinner with a side of brussel sprouts. Need to shut the blinds and turn on more lights. The plants are sick of all this gloom. Lol. Be safe

Good morning Shirl and all that follow!

Shirl, you beat me by 3 minutes, so I deleted mine and am posting under yours. I don't miss the chilly MD weather.

It's late morning and the winds are starting again that we had all day yesterday. We're not going to get out of the 60's today but the sun is shining.

The friends that e traveled with across the country are coming for our monthly visit and meal. We take turns and this month it's my turn. We're having fish (flounder fillet), fried potatoes, baked beans and chocolate mint cream pie for dessert. The appetizer will be a hot MD crab dip served with scoop chips. I'm really looking forward to that.

We have sun for a change but it's only 50. A little nippy without a jacket when I went to feed the outside cats.

Yesterday I went to the monthly hospice dinner. I have eaten at the restaurant we went to before but I was not impressed with them yesterday. The prices haven't gone up but the amount of food has gone way down. I ordered fried crawfish. The crawfish that wasn't there was covered up with big curly french fries. I've never seen french fries like that before. They were about an inch wide.

Only plan for today is to bring my motorhome to the shop for the electric step this afternoon. My appointment isn't until Thursday but my neighbor is going to Lafayette today and will pick me up on her way home. I didn't ask if I could bring it this early but I have to go when I can get a ride. I have never tried Uber and have no idea what it would cost since I live so far out of town.

I don't see anything on the radar but the weather people keep talking about us getting storms again tomorrow.

Although it is freezing cold when Hazel and I do our morning walk, the sun comes out about 9 and makes our next walk more pleasant. It also, as we face south, warms up the living room!
My “valentines “ cactus is covered with buds just waiting to open!
