Just about ready to head out the door for golf, and a dust storm just hit! Gusty winds and dust blowing in from the south. So am waiting a bit to see if it get better or worse in the next 15 minutes. I really don't want to be out there with all that dust blowing in my eyes and nose! Not fun! So far it seems to be getting worse! So probably no golf today. :(

Have a haircut to do on my next door neighbor later and then start cleaning in here. Will check in later... enjoy your morning!

...well, it is still nasty out so will not be going golfing today :( . (I'm all dressed up with no place to go! ). I guess there is a huge storm hitting the coast and moving this way over the mountains today and tomorrow. Supposed to get snow in the mountains overnight. This wind is probably the front moving ahead of the storm from the southwest. Most of what is south of me is just desert and not much else so there is nothing to block the dust and sand when the winds come from that direction.

So I guess I will start cleaning! Need to run to WM today but will wait until things calm down and clear up a bit. No hurry.

We have had .88 in rain since midnight! Hooray. It's a chilly , wet day here, which I'm loving. Have our monthly watercolor throwback painting class, where they demo and sell one last time a frequently requested stamp set from their retired list. It's always a mystery until the reveal during class and always fun to watch and learn. Then I'll walk on treadmill and shower and see what I can get done, while being careful not to aggravate my much better back. Have a good day everyone.

Not much going on. It's up to 94 again. I think we might set another record high today. I might try fishing again later. I went and voted and came home and cooked shrimp scampi for lunch. I have one more serving to cook. It's good but like most of Sam's stuff, too much of it.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow that I made when I got my last booster September 30. Good thing I wasn't sick. I want to get some blood work done to see what my numbers are since the blood bank won't take my blood anymore. Then I have an appointment to get my hair cut in the afternoon.

Strong winds here in Valley of Fire, so my rig has been rocking and rolling all night and this morning. Because I am in a motorhome without levelers, it moves a lot of the springs, so more rocking than rigs with stabilizers. Finally, this morning, I put in my slides because I was worried about my new (2 years) slide toppers tearing in the wind. Was supposed to get a lot of rain, but just a couple of light sprinkles so far. They did get a heavy rain here a few days ago, but they could still use more.

Before I put my slides in, I dug my printer out from under the rear dinette because I need to print some stuff today. Other than that, it will be a quiet, indoor day just watching TV and reading. Not cold outside, but much too windy. At least more rain would settle the dust and sand, which would make walking easier. I did see one couple walking a couple of dogs.

Glad to see California is finally getting some good rain! Napa has had more than an inch in the last day and a half. It will fill up the river, but they need more than that to fill up the lakes.

We got a little rain here but barely enough to wet the road out front. The road outside the park has small sand dunes on it! There is a huge empty area across the street so when the winds come from the south, it blows the sand from there across the street and creates piles of sand along there.

I did my neighbors haircut. She wanted to go really short this time. Looks nice. Then went to WM and picked up some things I needed. I started on cleaning up my bedroom and washing the floor, etc. Looks nice. Took some photos for the real estate agent. Now on to the bathroom which doesn't need much. Just put things away and clean mirrors and the floor (it is small!). Will have to wait on doing the kitchen now until Thursday.

Dave came by to look at the toilet handle. And guess what?? It worked perfect for him!! :o I swear I am cursed or have a ghost with a bad sense of humor. I tried it later and of course the handle would not come back up for me! People are gonna start thinking I am making this stuff up!

I ordered some small gourds that I can work on while I am traveling. I don't have many left and they are larger so I don't want to take those with me. These just fit in the palm of my hand so will be easy to work on. I am sure there will be days when the weather isn't cooperating and I am stuck inside, so will need to have something fun to do on those days.

Back to work tomorrow all day.

Barbie there are several craft fairs in Q ...QIA is the first Sat of the month and I've heard of other craft fairs but don't know much about them if I think about it I will see if I can figure out how to invite you to one of the pages...
we haven't had much snow even though it was predicted... tomorrow I need to go to the store we will be out of or very low on milk...I think if I get my butt in gear that I will try and reorganize the freezer but it's one of those daunting tasks and so easy to put off till another day... and with needing to go to the store it might be put off till another day.. although if I knew what was in there possibly would start planning meals around it
I did today what I planned on so that is a plus.... and did a couple of 1/2 rows on the Swedish Weave loving the colors in it...
saw a recipe the other day that I think I want to try... but when we have more around... it was jalapeno poppers... but the Jalapeno's are diced up and mixed in with the cheese and rolled in Panko then air fried... it sounded really good..
you all have a good day

Well, there were 52 ladies who showed up to play putters golf this morning! Apparently, the dust storm was much worse on my end of the park (being on the south end where the dust was blowing in to), while at the north end where the course is, was just windy with no dust at all  . If I had known that, I would have gone. That is a lot of ladies who showed up! We usually have about 35.

I got my bathroom cleaned and took some photos. The real estate guy isn't very good at taking photos, from the listings I have seen of his.

Sheila, I found a lady in Q last time I was there, who made and sold gourds. Her husband worked with wood. He also did what is called 'fracking" which is using water and electricity to make burned designs in the wood that look like lightning bolts. He did that on some of her gourds. It is really pretty and each design is unique, but it is also extremely dangerous to do. Many people have been fatally electrocuted doing that. The American Gourd Society won't acknowledge or accept any gourd art with that on it nor do they condone the practice in any way.

Here is an example of a fracked gourd...
