Good Morning everyone. Yep, you read that title right. Mid October snow here. It’s starting to mix a bit now, with rain changing to snow. We have a weather alert Day per se. Supposed to be possibly one to three or more inches of very heavy wet snow, windy and possibly some visibility issues along with slushy roads. So it will be a good day to stay home. And then by the weekend we may be pushing 70°. Typical fall in Michigan. Only one bad thing about it is, this is supposed to continue into tomorrow morning. I need to head down state as my favorite cousin passed away and the funeral is on Thursday morning. So I am planning to leave tomorrow.

Nothing new going on around here lately. The weather has chilly and damp, with rain showers for the past week. Needless to say, cleaning up the leaves has been almost impossible except for a couple of days when it was dry enough in the afternoon to do some. But work for temperatures this weekend I should be able to get at them. Between my yard, my neighbors and the POA properties that I maintain, it will probably take me about two days to get everything cleaned up. But there are still leaves on the trees yet to come down. I did take a ride yesterday afternoon to get some pictures of the beautiful fall colors that we have had here this year. Everybody has run out and we’re all saying that this is probably the most beautiful fall color we have seen in the past few years. Posted some pictures in General Talk if anybody is interested

Did some catch up here, not that I know remember everything, but see a few of you are out traveling, heading to Mexico and Sandi to Italy. Barbie, like your adventure plans. Best of luck. Tina keeping to keep us updated on her activities, O’Sharon’s ai ting job almost done. You will probably get this chilly damp weather we have been having too. The rest of us just doing day-to-day stuff. I’ll be finishing up cleaning my house this morning and then just getting a few things I need for an overnight downstate and funeral, ready to go and working on my Thanksgiving craft project today.

So I will wish you all a nice day and safe travels for those on the road.

Sue, sorry to hear about your cousin

Minnesota got snow the other day too. One of the earliest measurable snows on record! :o

I am on a FB group for the huge lake I grew up on in MN and people have been posting photos of the fall colors in the area. They are so beautiful, bright and colorful this year! Just gorgeous!

Getting ready for work. 9 hour day and then 3 days off. Still have lots to do around here and time is ticking!

Enjoy your day!

Well phooey, lost my whole post with one errant click of a button. I hate when that happens.
It is quite chilly here this morning, 44, but no snow in sight. We are hoping for some rain later this week. I remember years ago people used to say Oregonians rust, they dont tan. We had so much rain all the time, it was just a normal thing. Now we all do a rain dance when we get a few drops, just crazy.

Sue your pictures are outstanding. So many brilliant colors all in one spot. We have so many evergreens here in my side of the state that our colors are scattered amongst them but I still enjoy seeing them. So sorry about your cousin passing. My favorite cousin in Canada told me she is also fighting cancer. My long time neighbor who also moved up here after the fire is in the hospital and not doing well. Cancer of course. He never got to start chemo, just had radiation but he is going down hill fast so dont suspect he will last long. One of the bad things about getting older is losing friends, family, and acquaintances on a regular basis. Also all our old movie and tv actors, singers, etc But alas that is life.

Happy to read Bill and Carol finally got on the road after being weather delayed. Safe travels, have a good trip. Sheila hope your Echo helps find out what is going on with you.
I am going to make some homemade bread and cinnamon rolls today. Nothing better than homemade bread slathered with butter. It has been a long time since I did this. Wish me luck LOL

Another gray and coolish day here. Forecasters are still saying we may get some snow flurries mixed with rain. It changed from rain today to tomorrow so who knows what’s going to happen. But the good news is that finally the painters are finished and my back porch is cleared off of all their stuff. So happy to get my life back to whatever is normal for me!! So at least that major job is done! I’m sure they’re happy too! It was a big job and hoping I don’t have to do it again anytime soon! Sue, your photos are beautiful! We are still seeing green but some areas the leaves are changing or changed. And don’t have to go far to see the differences. Sorry about your cousin. Sandi, what an epic trip you’re having and appreciate you taking us along! Carol and Bill made their break and are on their way. Happy travels. Barbie, what an exciting time for you and lots of good advice from experience to draw from. Time for me to get to the store and do some running around that I’ve put off so I’ll wish you all a good day and good health.

Good morning,

Sue, sorry about your cousin. Your fall pictures are beautiful! With no rain and smoke, our colors aren't very pretty this year. Sandi, so enjoying your photos and travels! Karen, sorry about your friends and family. A couple I spent time with in Florida just lost their son - still don't know the cause but it was sudden. He was 40ish. One of the Slingshot ladies passed away at 65 earlier this month. We are at that age. Sheila, hoping tests give answers and that you can also get rid of that bed!

Suppose to be 76 here today, and we still have smoke! Granddaughter in Minnesota and grandson in Anchorage have seen their first snow. I came home from Port Angeles yesterday and it was pretty nice here. Not so much this morning. Fire was smoldering in spots along the highway. Lots of tree debris along the way and damaged guardrails. I was grateful it was open as there have been periodic closures and delays.

Not long after I left Port Angeles, I saw multiple flashing lights behind me in the distance - car chase! A few miles down the road they maneuvered him into safely crashing.

My list is long after having been gone so much lately!

Was going to finally go for a bike ride today, but I cannot find my bike keys to unlock it off the bike rack. I put them away in that proverbial "safe" place where a thief would not find them!! Course, I cannot find them, either!

So, it is halfway decent today and at least sunny, though cold, so I am going to walk to the beach through the woods. I'd drive, but this campsite is really tough to get into and out of, so I will wait until I leave tomorrow to drive to a couple of places. '

I have read about the expected rain in the Northwest, and am glad it is happening, but not really looking forward to it because it is supposed to last more than a week. Reminds me of the very wet four months I spent in Eugene in 2018-19.

Hey Judy, Want me to hypnotize you so you can find your keys? We could use Skype or WhatsApp. I could also tell you how you might be able to find them with a pendulum.

I certainly need something to find my keys!

The dumb thing is that I keep doing the same thing with hiding stuff so it won't be stolen, as if I have ever had anyone break into my motorhome!

Anyway, I went out for a beach walk and ended up at the jetty which was about 3/4 of a mile, so at that point I decided to walk to the fish market, which was another 1.2 miles. So, by the time I had made it to the fish market, I had to buy some crabmeat to take home and have a fish sandwich. Fish market to entrance to state park was another 3/4 of a mile. It was getting cold because sun was getting low, and I was really exhausted, but I could not even find an Uber. Luckily, a kind lady stopped and offered me a ride just before the park entrance. It was another half mile to my site, and if she had not picked me up I would have stopped someone inside the park. I don't normally solicit or accept rides, but I was really exhausted, it was getting dark, and she was very nice--took me right to my site. Whew!!

Does that all add up to a bit over 3 miles?? Remind me not to do that long of a walk again!! I walked a lot in London, but it was broken up by stops for rest, shopping, and eating, so not too bad. This was way too much for my old body, so I just took some Aleve and am resting.

Karen, Sorry to hear about your cousin and your neighbor. I have lost a lot of friends and cousins over the years already. Makes you appreciate your life a lot more and get your priorities in order. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

Years ago, when bread machines were a big thing, I bought one for my mom and she used it all the time! I love the smell and taste of homemade bread!

My tree and the neighbors tree limbs were all cleaned up and hauled away today. Amazingly, there is no damage at all to the roof of the gazebo! Must have been built really well!

I was in a lot of pain today at work. My sciatica was really giving me problems! I used my heating pad on the chair in between clients which helped a lot, but once I started on a haircut, the pain came back, sometimes with a painful jolt down my leg!

Just going to relax tonight, watch a little TV and get to bed fairly early. I want to get up by 8am and get my day started. Need to make some phone calls first, then finish what I was doing with the boxes in the living room, then get back to the stuff in the porch. The bins of little piddly stuff is what takes so long to go thru! The bigger stuff is easier and quicker to deal with.

Supposed to stay in the 80's for the rest of the week so that will make it a lot more comfortable to work in. I have had my window open in the bedroom at night for the past 2 nights.

I will need to find a new home for my fish before I leave. Hope I can find someone here in the park.

Judy, did you find your bike lock key yet? How hard is it to lift your bike on and off the carrier? I want to take my ebike with me but not sure if I can lift it like that or not.

very sorry for you loss Sue... and Karen that is so sad about your neighbor going to a fire then relocation and now cancer... that is just sad...
we do funny things when you think about it...Judy hiding keys for a bike that if they are in your motor home they would take not the bike... :o I hope you find them I remember hiding a Christmas gift for one of my dd's never did find that thing...
we went to a potluck for lunch so got up and made a chicken noodle casserole... turned out pretty good although I just now remembered I didn't put the peas in it  I like tuna casserole but mom doesn't like tuna so thought chicken would work... I picked up some cooked chicken at the store... thought the sign said it was 2for 7.00 when I looked at the receipt to see why it came to more than I thought they were 7.99 each... :o I was going to call and have someone look but forgot to do it...
one day I will remember to look at the receipt before I leave the store...
got home and read scripture's and vegged out fixed supper and proceeded to watch Hallmark movies and mysteries more movies than mysteries....
I remembered that I didn't mention someone about something so came to edit and go and see who I forgot and it won't let me so I guess I will continue forgetting
you all have a good day
