Good afternoon friends!

Beth, I love your sunset pictures! Just amazing! Sheila, please don't overdo. Those on vacation or having returned from vacations, your posts and pictures are so interesting. Catherine, I know you're excited about another grand child coming into the world. Karen, you are starting to sound much stronger and I'm so happy for you. Velda, keep taking care of yourself. Sue, I only wish I had your energy. Shirl, your garden sounds like it's coming along! But I know your temperatures there are starting to get cool now, especially at night. Cheryl, I hope someone finds the solution to your slide problem. That has to be so aggravating. I know I've over looked many, but after church, my brain is mud.

It's late in the afternoon and am contemplating putting dinner together. It will be a very simple meal of chicken potpie and salad. The weather is gorgeous and right now it is 87 degrees and the sun is shining.

The hymns this morning were real humdingers but I will have much easier hymns for this coming Sunday.

The residents are slowly returning to the resort and many of the ones that evacuated from the hurricane are still gone. Hopefully they're having a good vacation somewhere.

This has been mostly a do nothing weekend. Yesterday I thought about going by the festival grounds to see if anyone was selling funnel cakes but decided to make my own. I have some funnel cake mix that I bought somewhere. My funnel cakes aren't very pretty but they taste good.

I baked two chicken thighs for lunch. While I was digging in the freezer I decided to make gumbo out of a container of chicken pieces and chicken broth. It's not quite cool enough to be considered gumbo weather yet. Spent most of the day watching Ken Burns shows about Country Music on PBS. Tonight I'm watching a new to me show about Egypt, Valley of the Queens. Most of the time there is nothing I want to watch on TV.

My car needs to be serviced. I might go to the Honda place in Lafayette that is a block from my son. The other Honda place is in New Iberia and there is nothing close to it. I should have mowed today but it's not suppose to rain until Wednesday and the grass isn't all that tall.

I'm making up my maps for the office door for my arrivals after 8. Three tonight. Shall we guess how many ring the bell without even looking at their map? Funny, that's mainly Americans. The foreigners figure it out even if they can't read English. Ty knows it's that time. He's ready to head home and go to sleep.

3 more weeks and I'll be on the road. Whew!
