It’s Wednesday

So here it is afternoon already. Painters are back and working hard. They didn’t come yesterday due to the rain and low temperatures. So are taking advantage of what we have today. Plus the furnace fellow just got here and can hopefully get repairs done and I won’t be dealing with it everyday. I just need heat! The painters hav their bucket truck sitting out front on the grass and sidewalk! It just fits right up to the steps! If it gets the job done I’ll worry about the ruts in the grass later! Jim came yesterday and winterized Lola for me. I really didn’t expect he’d come as soon as he did. But I’ll take what I can get. As much as I’d like to get out at least once more I just don’t see it happening. I’ve been saying that since June and it’s been one thing or another to get in the way. I haven’t even been able to break away for a day trip! Okay, now I’m feeling sorry for myself! But on the up side I really enjoyed meeting up with Cheryl for a couple of days in Somerset in May. So now guess I’ll just have to sit back and let everyone do their jobs around the house and hope nothing else breaks! I truly look forward to reading about everyone’s adventures and daily doings. Hope you all have a great day and stay safe wherever and whatever you do today.

Today’s our first day in Rome having arrived late afternoon. We made it to our hotel which is in the historical center of Rome. We’re so lucky the hotel is located within walking distance of so many sites we want to see. We just missed sunset today but made it to the Trevi Fountain and everyone else was there too. These are three pics my daughter Shannon took. Our original plan was to take a special tour of the Colosseum tomorrow that would include the areas underground where animals and gladiators waited until their time to enter the ring. However, we received a text that it was cancelled due to a “political event.” So now we’ll do that on Friday and tomorrow we’ll go to the Vatican which will include the Sistine Chapel, Vatican museums and a hike to the top of the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica.

So we made it and I’m so thrilled to be able to spend this time with Shannon and to see sites I’ve studied and dreamed about for years.

So happy for you Sandi, I know you will have a great time. Nothing exciting here today. Sorting thru a few drawers that for some reason have become junk drawers. A girl only needs one junk drawer not three.
Happy to see Anita is back, yay. And she had a good time. Sharon still getting her house painted between rain showers LOL hope to see some pics soon.

Going to make a pork roast in the crockpot tomorrow and I remembered to take it out of the freezer today. I cant believe it is Wednesday already. Good grief these weeks just fly by. Another month and we have to change our clocks on Nov 7th. I hate that it will be dark so early.

I went and picked up my push mower and my neighbor helped me unload it. I got Sugar's yard mowed. I think the rest of the yard can wait a few days. Since it quit raining everyday the grass isn't growing so much. The grass is crunchy in some places.

I have a junk drawer and a junk cabinet. I have to use a ladder to get in the top 2 shelves of the cabinet so don't remember what's up there. There are a lot of tools that probably should go somewhere else.

I got an appointment to bring my motorhome in October 31. :( No more camping this month. The next campout I had planned to go to is the middle of November so hopefully I'll have the motorhome back by then.

I need to start walking Sugar earlier. It is getting dark earlier and some nights it's almost dark before we get out. We don't do much of a walk but she wants to visit the neighbor's dog.

Sandi, thank you for the pictures. What a great trip.

Martha

Sandi, have fun and take lots of pics!

I got a few things done today. I finished boxing up some things for the storage unit and put them in my car. Then I worked on my gourd spirit doll. Finally finished her! I think she turned out pretty good.

I had my consultation today with the sleep apnea specialist. I will get an appointment to go in for the overnight testing and see how that turns out. I am not sure I can do the whole mask thing every night if needed, since I have claustrophobia, and have had a hard time in the past wearing an oxygen mask while in the hospital when needed. I asked about a new implant called Inspire that I heard about on a commercial the other day. He said that if the mask isn't a good option for me, that would be something to look into later. Will be interesting to find out the results of the sleep test.

Anyway, from the doctors office, I had lunch at 5 Guys which I love, then stopped at the storage place and dropped of the bins. Of course they wrote down the wrong code number for the gate so I had to drive back around to the office to find out what it really is. Then I couldn't find the storage unit right away. I remembered where it was but got confused because the numbers on the storage doors were not even close to my number #337, until I realized that the numbers are all mixed up and not in any kind of order! What is up with that?? Finally found mine (#337 is next to #251 which is next to #112 :? ).

I need to transfer my photos from my Android phone to the SD card since I am out of space, but I can't remember how to do that. I watched several YouTube videos but they all have different phones and options than I do, so that didn't help me at all. I will have to bring it to a phone store and ask them to do it for me. I took photos of the gourd doll but I can't send them to my laptop because my storage is full on my phone and now I have limited functions, one of which is sending photos. Things like this frustrate me to no end!

I also took photos of the gourd doll with my regular camera but I can't find the cord to transfer them to my laptop either!! So I just ordered another cord from Amazon that will be here on Friday. (I ordered a white one so I can find it among all the black cords!) So you will all have to wait until then to see photos of it. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate technology!?? :(

More sorting and organizing tomorrow in the living room, now that it is cleared out of the bins and a large, heavy microwave! First tho, I have a haircut to do in the morning for a snowbird who just came back for the winter.

Have a good night!

Barbara, there are probably 100 types of masks various categories from full face to two little plugs that fit in end of nostrils! There are some good groups online with tons of suggestions on choosing a mask and how to get used to it. How to download your data, etc. if you need it, and determine to make it work, you will be surprised how much better you feel. Pre-Cpap, my sleep was so poor (and I barely have any apnea, I have upper airway restrictive disorder where my airways gradually close down, like inflammation from asthma, only different cause), I could sleep 12-14 hours and wake exhausted! Now 6-7 hours is fine. No longer walk through my days like a zombie! Have faith you can do what is necessary.

Sandi great photos!! I'm so happy for you.

Sharon I'm glad they are finally getting to paint and I hope the rain holds off until they can finish! Crossing my fingers your heating issue gets resolved.

Martha bring your RV up here and get it fixed. There is a great RV repair place near me. I think it would be faster and we could visit.

Karen your post reminded me of my intentions to clear out our junk drawer, it is way past time.

Anita I hope the smoke will clear soon, welcome back. Barbie good for you on keeping at your de-cluttering mission!

I've wondered what happened to Ava and her sweet puppy. Hope she is ok.

It is time to get busy myself!
