Warm, sunny Sunday

Hi ladies!

It's coming up on dinner time and I am surprised to see no one has chimed in since we went to church and back. Because it takes us an hour each way, and on the way home we took back roads because of congestion on I-75, we didn't get home until 2:00. The traffic on weekends here reminds me of the Ocean City traffic that Shirl has to contend with. It's crazy.

I made apple fritters today and plan on making crab imperial to go with them with a topping of crab imperial sauce. Come one, come all.

Irmi, I'd be a taker if I was in driving distance. Yum.

No new news here. Just hanging out in the backroom of the motel office watching old episodes of Criminal Minds, waiting on today's check-ins.

Nothing exciting going on here either this lazy Sunday. This has been a good week. I have been eating regularly and my coughing and shortness of breath is almost gone. Have my eye doc appt for injections tomorrow morning. I also weigh tomorrow so will see if I gained anything last week.

Weather is pretty perfect here. All we need now is some rain!!!!! Irmi you always have the best food going on at your house. I had a fried ham sandwich and some cauliflower with cheese sauce. Very good.

Great news, Karen! Any idea what brought your appetite back? I'll bet you are enjoying food taste for a change, so keep it up.

I just had a large bowl of blackberries I picked. Yum. I am finally getting back to myself after two days of rest from my Atlanta trip. Next time I fly there, I am going to choose some place like Las Vegas where I can get a direct flight.

Also, in case you are interested, the Queen's funeral activities will start at 5:45 am EDT or 2:45 am PDT. This is when the procession starts when they move her casket from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey where the funeral will be. It will move by procession using the gun carriage, as they used to get her to the hall from Buckingham Palace. I missed that so I will try to watch it in the middle of the night!! (I know, it will mess up my sleep.)

By the way, if you see any photos of Westminster Hall, try to get a look at the ceiling. Westminster Hall is the oldest part of the buildings that house Parliament and it is a unique building. Most important is that it was once part of an 11th Century palace and was not destroyed by the Great Fire of London or the fire in 1834 that destroyed most of the original palace. The roof is a "hammer-beam" timber roof and is the largest timber such timber roof in all of Europe. It was commissioned in 1393 by Richard II and is magnificent! Here are a couple of articles about it:

Irmi, I agree in that you have the best meals at your place. They always sound so good. Looks like you traded driving in MD traffic for Florida traffic now, the which of I imagine, is picking up as the snowbirds start coming down. They will be flocking out of here before long.

Karen, I’m glad to hear that your appetite is back and that you are feeling better too. Maybe those new medication as you got on are helping. Whatever, just keep it up.

Judy, I am planning on watching the Queens funereal too, which means I will have to be up at 0 dark 30 too. Didn’t you mean 2:45 a.m. PT and not p.m.. This will be the first funeral of a Monarch that I have seen and may be the last. Although given Charles age, I do not see a long monarchy for him. So who knows.

Nothing doing here today either. Just a quick run into town for gas for my lawn tractor and just topped off my truck which didn’t take much. Traced one of the patterns on my wood crafts, so that one is done. Check the dogs over to the state park for a walk. That was about it for the day.

Judy I was given a very potent antibiotic to take for 7 days AND my steroid inhaler. So either one could have been the catalyst but I finally feel some hunger. Not eating alot but looking forward to a meal which is new. Since some foods dont taste like they used to for me I am a bit picky on what to eat. I had bought some Rice Krispie cereal a couple months ago, yuck, no taste. Also some green beans, nope no go. So am sticking to things that sound and taste good. Couple meals a bit unconventional LOL but I enjoyed them, Had some baked beans and a slice of ham for dinner. Tasted good. Hope it keeps up since I am done with the antibiotic (that didnt agree with me but I took it anyway).

Karen whichever helped, yay. And I have eaten strange for many years now. If that gets you eating, go for it.

I had a phone meeting with the owners here and, yikes, I agreed to return next year. I'm committing to it being my last. But I also told them if I have problems like this year next year, I won't stay the season. I even said that's a promise. Now I'm really looking forward to this season ending lol
