Morning everyone. It’s humid and 70° outside. Most of the humidity is due to the rain and the air mass that’s sitting over us right now. It will be gone tomorrow. We could use the moisture anyway.

Nothing much on the agenda today since I can’t work outside in the yard. Will be heading for the grocery store in a little while but first I want to run the vac in the house. Will be a good day to finish up my pumpkin project and get that ready to pull it out next week. Time to change the seasonal decorations. Need to pick up a sheet of plywood so that I can make the ones for Thanksgiving. I want to cut them out so that I can take them with me up north next month. A lot of times I like to work on them in the evenings. Other than taking Molly to the vet tomorrow I don’t have anything on my schedule this week. I’m hoping to be able to paint the railings and the stairs and I just built so that will be done. I did post pictures of this project in General Talk if any of you are interested.

Martha, you had mentioned Wet It and Forget It other day. There is another cleaner out too that you can use if you have it down in your area and that is called Mold Armour. You spray it on with a hose and let it sit about 10 minutes and then rinse off and boy does the dirt come off. I have used it on my house for the past couple summers.

So I guess I will get a move on here. I don’t like to sit in this chair too long I won’t get out of it. Have a great day off stay safe and crazy weather that’s going on around the country.

Karen hope your test will result in some relief. Evie, if Edith can FaceTime anyone can. You are right about how you appear in the screen. Edith and I agree we are not aging well. Neither of us had even combed our hair. Then we thought that was hysterical. In our 80 yr friendship we have seen each other looking worse. Be safe

The outside of my house definitely could use a good wash - it is festooned with two years worth of wildfire ash, with dangling cobwebs everywhere - from the roof, the eaves, even the siding has cobwebs. My house looks like a haunted house.

I have seen the product you mentioned in ads, sure would like to try it. The problem being, if I was seen outside with a hose in my hands washing off my house I would risk getting arrested. Well, if not arrested, at the very minimum I could get slapped with a hefty fine.

Water restrictions in place here, due to the drought. Most people in my area - including me - have let their lawns die (lawns can't survive without frequent watering, especially when temperatures are in the low to mid-100's for weeks on end, as they have been here).

I sure would like to do it, though. When I first painted my house a couple of years back it glowed. Now it looks like a dump.

Oh well. Such is life in California.

Actually, I will be in Napa, which is going to be hot, but not quite as hot as the Central Valley. My problem is going to be driving up there when I leave San Clemente. Don't know where I will stay overnight on the way, but I expect it to be hot, so will definitely need electric!!

And my son's house has a big in-ground pool in the backyard--actually the pool IS the backyard! No front yard either, just gravel and some landscaping shrubs, so no grass to water or mow. He sold his mower when they bought the house several years ago. They also have a hot tub attached to the pool, but I suspect it has not been heated lately. Anyway, I will leave my AC on at the RV at the EXPO and we'll hang around the house and pool. Might even go to the beach, not sure. Or maybe San Francisco???

Then I am headed north on Wednesday, Sept 7 to spend a few days at Bullard's Beach and then leave my RV at Eugene Airport and fly out to Atlanta for a few days to check up on my aunt. When I get back to Eugene, I have reservations at Tillicum Beach, which is directly west of Eugene. I plan to hang around Oregon and Washington until November when I will head to Las Vegas and Death Valley before Christmas when I will be back in Napa.

I don't know what the humidity is but I'm sure it's high and it's 90. It's overcast but hasn't rained today, yet.

I was terrified of snakes when I was a kid but I have learned to identify some so I'm not that bad now. I never thought about a dog being able to smell a snake. I'm sure that's what Sugar was smelling the other day. She smelled along the bottom of the door and up the side of the door. If I see her do that again I'm going to try to find what she is smelling. The bad thing is that if she found a snake she would try to grab it. My grandpa's neighbor had a dog that hated snakes. Gerry had been bitten by a poisonous snake and almost died. He would kill any snake he could find. When we wanted to go exploring in the woods we would go get Gerry. He wasn't a friendly dog and didn't want to be petted but was friends with my grandpa's dog. The two dogs would follow us all over.

Sue, I'll have to look for some Mold Armor. I was early for lunch yesterday so stopped at Lowe's and got some Wet and Forget. Now to just use it. There are spider webs and wasp nests all over here too.

Judy you amaze me with all your reservations and plans. I couldn't organize myself out of a paper bag.

My California son and his family used to live at the far north end of Napa where their house backed up to a vineyard--very scenic because you could look up the valley. However, they had two young cats at the time, and the cats used to bring in live birds and bunnies and a bunch of other stuff they caught by sneaking under the fence to the vineyard. (They are too old and fat now to do any sneaking under fences, so their "presents" have dwindled in number.)

One day, my granddaughter reported to their mother that there was a snake under her brother's bed. The kids were probably about 5 and 7 at the time. Their mother figured they were just playing pretend because they used to do that often, so she ignored them. My grandson was smart enough to keep watch on the snake while his sister was trying to get their mother to come get it, but she kept ignoring them. Finally, she did go and look and then had to call my son who was at the school for some reason on a weekend. He had to come home and catch it and release it back into the vineyard!!

The funny thing is that they had had a party at their house the weekend before, and one of her friends told her she had seen a fake snake in the son's bedroom that night, except the kids never had any fake snakes!! So it had been hanging around all week.

Martha, about 30 years ago, I was lucky enough to sit next to a young guy who was an Excel whiz, so he taught me how to use the program. Or at least, he taught me enough to set up a simple spreadsheet on which I set up dates a year in advance and then record the places I am going, the names of the campgrounds, costs per night, and any notes about site number and whether it has electric, water, and sewer.

I check it constantly so i know where I am supposed to go the next day. Without my spreadsheet, I would be completely lost. I also enter the address on my GPS and that way all I have to do is press a button or two and do whatever the machine tells me to do! (Left, right, straight ahead, etc.) This also has the benefit of not getting lost very often, so nobody supposedly will notice when I get to be a little more demented than I already am!

did a bit more today than yesterday watered the indoor plants some of them were begging for water and took garbage out was surprised to see that the big can was down to the street was really glad to see that I'd asked my niece to pick up a couple of things so she left the pkg on the deck and took the can down to the street... my mom came up to me tonight and asked me if I'm trying to get sick I said no I'd succeeded big time... I didn't go anywhere today was too tired to do so...
did fix supper thank goodness for the A/F tossed a potato in when it was done although if I'd been thinking I would have just put the pork chops in about 15 min. before it was to be done... mom hadn't finished a potato the other day so it along with veggies went into the micro... the hardest part was cleaning the A/F rack didn't put it to soak after I took the meat out even left it in the A/F so really baked on... not a good move...
I remember when I was still a teenager and something came up and my grandpa said something to the effect that someday you will be able to see the other person on the phone... in his eyes I think that wouldn't be a good thing.. waiting to smell over the phone... I can't face time because of the type of phone but I can video chat so I was able to see my daughter's new house..
I have to join in about the snake just shudder thinking about it... some parts of Idaho have rattlesnakes but never have heard of them being here in Jackson which is a good thing
