Good morning ladies!

It's almost 11:00 on the east coast so it's somewhat earlier for the rest of you and you're probably still sipping on your coffee. Catherine, I am so proud of you for taking the French course! Let us know how you like it.

It's going to be warm here again today, but it's summertime in FL. Dinner is going to be a seafood boil which I'll put on early this afternoon. I've taken 2 pounds of shrimp, lobster claws, and Italian sausage out of the freezer and I'll also add small potatoes and corn on the cob. I wish all of you were closer so we could share this with you.

Enjoy the rest of the day!

Morning Irmi, If I were close I would love to share your dinner and company. It’s typical Eastern Shore weather, sunny 97% humidity and 72% dew point. Waiting for wick from Amazon to be delivered to friends porch. Will use inhaler to go outside, empty trash, get mail and package also need potting soil. I have potting mix at #1 daughters but she advised I stay away because her husband has Covid. Going to put wicks in all the house plants and hope with consistent water I will have happy plants. Not sure how wicks affect plants that do not require much water. Well if the plant doesn’t know it can’t expect me to read it’s mind. Looking forward to having a project. My itty bitty news. Be safe

Irmi, I wish I was close to you, I love a seafood boil. One of the local restaurants has a seafood buffet. I usually don't feel like I eat enough to go to a buffet but I can handle a seafood buffet. My son and his girlfriend like to go but she is so busy with the plays that it's hard to plan a trip. I might have to break down and go by myself.

Shirl, hope your wicks work. We have gotten so much rain my plants don't need wicks. They might need an umbrella. My tub of Caladiums are starting to lose their color so guess that means Fall is on the way. I was given one bulb at a campout. Last year there were just a few leaves. This year the tub is almost full. They should be really pretty next year. The marked down Mums that I bought a few years ago are looking good. I should repot them into a larger pot. The tub of Catnip probably needs to be replanted. There is mostly just sticks in there now.

The week is starting off as usual, we got a half inch of rain this morning and it's raining again. My sister is just under one of the severe weather boxes. Our weather is usually coming from the Northeast but today it's coming from Texas. My niece lives in Ft Worth. Hope she doesn't flood. The last time I talked to her she was trying to do french drains around her house.

I didn't do much yesterday. I vacuumed, that's always fun. I vacuum with one that has a container I can dump first. I had to take it apart because it was clogged with cat hair. I don't know how they have any fur left. Then I vacuum with one with a beater bar to get the dirt out of the carpet.

The plumbing place I called last week said they would have something this week. I'm trying to carry my phone around so I don't miss their call. I just hope they call.

Yea, the plumbers came. I had about 20 minutes notice to unload the 4 shelf unit over one of the toilets and take all the stuff out from under the kitchen sink. I think I need to let go of some of the jelly jars and I probably have a life time supply of cleaning supplies. They changed the kitchen faucet and fixed one of the toilets. Now I don't have to fight with the kitchen faucet to get it to stop dripping. They didn't have the part one of the toilets needs or the parts to fix the outside faucet so they are coming back sometime. Hope I get more notice.

I probably should run the dishwasher to make sure there is water going to it.

Had my eye doc appt this morning. I also had the scans and he was super pleased as there was NO fluid behind my eye and it was looking very good. I was there for 2 hours as they seemed really busy, I only complain if they are standing around chatting. I came home and waited for the dilation to wear off more as I wanted to go to COSTCO and get a roasted chicken so I can make a couple of casseroles to freeze. I also like their individual grapefruit segments as they come in cups and are not sour and not too sweet. It was an in and out trip for sure. Came home and gave Emma a bit of chicken and she was delighted. I also had some for lunch. My eyes were stinging this afternoon so put a cold wash rag on them and took a small nap. Feels better tonight.

It was a wonderful day with Judyjb and my friend Ginger back at Bryce Canyon. I think the day tired us all out, though. We did do a lot of walking and generally sunny and beautiful weather. I took tons of pictures but only started to go through them. Maybe tomorrow lol.

Here is the best one I took. It was a sunny, perfect day, and not even a lot of crowds. Kids are back in school in most states, so a lot of couples and international visitors, not the usual families.

Many thanks to Beth for driving us all around today!! Saw some things that the shuttles does not go to, so it was nice to have her as a chauffeur!!

Beth , Judy and Ginger glad you had a fun fun day... haven't been to Bryce in a long time but it is so pretty I love love the red rocks and the blue blue sky...
we had a brief but powerful rain storm with some hale mingled in with it....bad enough that I closed the window over the bed and for some reason mom thought that the window over the sink needed to be closed I think the wind was making it feel cooler than it was...
Irmi if I was within a hundred miles I would have come to your sea food boil... it really sounds good!!! :)
you all need to cheer for me!!! I finish tying the knots in the one end :o now on to the other end I think if I could get a rhyteme going it wouldn't take me so long  it will feel good to have this project done...
the cruise is just less than 3 weeks away am I dreaming that I can get an order of clothes before then???
youngest dd called with a video call last night showed me around her house.... they have black berries big huge bushes... I almost think that they are one that needs to be pruned back but not sure about that lots of tall tall trees a couple of prune trees and (envy) a magnolia tree have always wanted one...
the inside is good as well  she did a lot of focus on the lack of traffic they lived on a really busy street in SLC this is not busy and she is ecstatic
I was busy yesterday church and had family coming for supper so wanted to do some preparation as we also had a baptism for a great niece then the supper... was making Navajo Taco's so wanted to get the scone dough so it would rise while we were gone...and to make the chili did all that before the baptism no scones left over I thought I'd made enough but guess I miss remembered how many to make for a group only 12 and one batch should have make 18 so did a batch and a half well it didn't make as many has I thought it would might have been the size of the scones as well...
today my niece brought over the screen door still had trouble putting it in and doesn't glide easily I am tempted to have my son in law pick up some silver ..... if I could remember the rest of it ... it worked wonder's on my step I think it would help but don't think it will cure the issue I actually think it's a problem with the door thinks it's warped a bit... but close enough to the end of the summer not going to worry about it other than try the silver whatever... my brother came by while my niece and nephew were working on the door so he worked on it.... then they were gone.... where we didn't know so now the venting.... we didn't want to fix supper till they were gone so delayed finally fixed supper no biggy just meatloaf sandwiches cool enough should have chosen hot foods but wanted to get rid of the left over meatloaf... cleaned up still no sign of anyone... finally about 8:30 a text from sister in law asking me to tell mom that they were home.. so irritated... mom truly thought they would be back to say goodbye at least I get that their daughter had been in the truck for awhile had db just told mom we will be leaving in a moment so we could have gotten mom out to the truck to tell her granddaughter bye... had he just taken a couple of minutes to come in and say got to go it's getting late... but nothing and I am so peeved
and I think mom was really hurt... they just came up with excuses why and I get it but I truly think it was so unnecessary to handle it the way they did Grrrr
that said going to say good night play a game and go to my bedroom oh and the dead mouse was found and disposed off smells so much better
