Stay home Sunday

Yesterday, I was able to get all my laundry done and cut up all the boxes in my porch and take them to the dumpster. I went to check the water in the batteries in the golf cart but couldn't lift the seat up. I asked Dave to help me and he stopped here early this morning to take care of that for me. Still need to charge up the batteries and put more air in the one tire that keeps going low. I did give the cart a little bath yesterday since it was covered in dust.

Then last night, I decided to have some hot chocolate with Baileys. I didn't have any milk but found some little single-use containers of cream in my fridge. I added one to the water and Baileys and hot chocolate. About 15 minutes after drinking it, I started getting cramps and nausea  . Well, I ended up all night in and out of the bathroom (mostly in)! I am thinking it was the cream that caused it. I have had those in the fridge for quite awhile. Anyways, not a good night! I get really lightheaded from the pain and nausea and feel like I am gonna pass out, so I end up laying in the bathtub so I don't fall, if that happens. (Discovered my bathtub is a lot smaller than your average bathtub! :o ). Finally got back to bed around 4am. I called my manager and told her I would not be able to come in today. I have some cleaning to do in the bathroom and then take a shower and wash my hair again (did that just before I had the hot chocolate  ) since I was sweating buckets thru that whole ordeal! I am still feeling very weak and tired this morning, so will take my time. I am sure I am dehydrated and I am on my last bottle of water, altho I think there are a few more bottles out in my car, that I also cleaned out yesterday. Will get dressed and go out to bring those inside. Will have to get more water tomorrow. (tap water and filtered water give me a tummy ache.)

Just got done watching my church service and will maybe turn on golf in a bit. Otherwise won't be doing much else today. I am hungry so I might make some chicken noodle soup. That always seems to be good on a bad tummy.

I talked to my neighbor lady yesterday and she said what I found was a Palmetto Bug from the palm trees. Maybe it fell or flew off one of the trees and landed in the open bin while it was near the carport last week. I sure don't want those in my house! :o

Judy, I wish I was on your current journey! I would love to see all those towns in the Colorado mountains!

Have a good day, and I will try to have a better day too! :D

Hey, Barbie, I don't want to add to your misery. . . but a "Palmetto Bug" is, in fact, another name for the American Cockroach.

They are nasty things, the area in which I live is infested with them. When I used to take my dog out for a walk after dark, you could seem them scuttling off the sidewalk as I approached with my flashlight. They are everywhere.

I agree with Judy - they likely came in on one of the boxes from your storage place.

Hope you don't see any more of them!!

U of Michigan was and is a huge place--60,000+ students. For that reason, I chose to live in a sorority house, not a popular one, to say the least, but I made some good friends there. We had a very nice house that had been built around an older house and held 60 girls in double and triple rooms, not fancy but the public areas like the living room were nice. Anyway, I kept complaining that the Coke machine in the basement was always out of Coke, so I ended up with the job of taking the coins out and refilling the machine about once a week. This was back in the early 60s, and Coke and other soft drinks came in glass bottles, which were packed in a wooden case of 24 bottles. Remember those???

So, the Coke man came once a week or so and stacked heavy cases on pop in the storage room where our food came in from a warehouse. (We had a cook who fixed us three meals a day, sort of like in a dorm.)

I will never forget the day I picked up a case of pop, and a cockroach climbed up on top of one of the bottle caps. I was holding the very heavy case at about waist level against my body, and this cockroach just sat there staring at me. I could not drop the case because everything would break, and it would probably land on my feet, so a carefully put it down. From then on, I would kick the cases before I picked any up!!!

We occasionally had cockroaches in our rooms, and the place was fumigated fairly often, but I learned that it is very hard to control those little pests. They come in with food deliveries and live in storage boxes, eating the glue and possibly anything else edible in there. Not a lesson I wanted to learn, to say the least!!

my daughter and her husband and daughter came for supper and for a change they didn't have to run off right after supper... was nice to sit around a bit...
made meat loaf everyone seemed to enjoy it... actually only 2 pieces left and half of mom's all the veggies and potatoes were gone... Safeway used to carry a frozen bag of veggies that I loved and when I could I would get some they no longer carry it so occasionally I fake make it it's carrots and sugar snap peas... just really enjoy the combo
tomorrow I need to do something with the raspberries that someone brought by I would make freezer jam but not sure if the freezer has room for them... it would be nice if I could freeze them single layer but again no room and at this time it's frustrating cause there are two big freezer's in the garage... they were turned off a couple years ago ... they are old and just used up lots of electricity... oh well guess I will put them in bags a cup or two in each flatten them as much as I can then when I need them just put them in something that can use them that way...
You all have a great day

Quiet on here today. Everyone is chilling today.

My neighbor did mention they are cockroaches but I prefer to use "bug". Doesn't sound quite so creepy!

Was tired all day so I just played on-line, watched a little golf, had my chicken noodle soup, cleaned the bathroom, and watched a little TV tonight. I did have some light cramping earlier but that went away. Been trying to drink a lot of water. I had 4 bottles in the car and have had 3 of them so far (16oz each).

Am already in bed at 10pm and I don't have to go in to work until 11am tomorrow so I can get caught up on my sleep tonight.

Romeow has been very busy doing zoomies for the past hour or so. He should sleep good tonight! He did stop long enough to watch a little TV with me. He seems fascinated with watching it! I need to call my vet this week and find out about Lola's ashes. He said it would be 3 to 4 weeks so they should be available by now. I will put them in the same little wooden box with my old kitty, Mitzy, who lived to be 21.

There is a U-Haul truck across the street today. Not sure if someone is moving in or out. There is an older lady who owns two of the park models next to each other. She lives in one during the winter and rents out the other one. Maybe something happened to her. It was a middle-aged couple who came with the truck. I will ask my neighbor. She knows everything that goes on around here.

I got an email from the office here asking me to clear the stuff in my carport by next weekend. I will have to get on that this week in spite of the heat. There really isn't all that much, just some more stuff from the old storage unit. Mostly pictures (that hang on the wall). I have been trying to decide if I want to keep them or donate them. I guess I better decide soon! I also have an old aquarium that needs to get cleaned up and then donated. Also my old sewing machine. That is filthy, full of dust. I imagine it probably isn't in very good shape anymore so I will probably toss it. I have had it for about 30 years. Just a cheap one I bought at K-Mart way back when.

Romeow is now on my bed giving himself a bath so I guess it is time for bed.

Barbara, if the body of that machine is metal- don't toss it. My machine is close to 30, but still an excellent machine. They can be cleaned and used. At least donate it! Look online for a Deseret industries center. It's run by the Church of Jesus Chrst of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and is a combination job center and donation center. They teach job skills and sometimes quilting there. Once cleaned and oiled with fresh oil, it should be fine.

I concur with Velda about the metal sewing machine. I have an all-metal Singer that an ex-coworker gave me. Used it a couple of years now-and-again, didn't work too well, was getting ready to toss is and buy a cheapo plastic one.

My best friend, who is quite the sewer, suggested I have it cleaned and oiled by a person she knew that was an expert at such things.

I did, and the thing now works like brand new - although I still don't use it very much.
