Lack of water

Our main source of water here in San Diego is the Colorado River. The “powers that be” in our city government are in the hands of the developers who want to build, build, build. So, a housing shortage is always in the headlines. There are a few who take the water shortage seriously. They write letters to the editors in the local paper. As long as we have the developers building, there is no hope for us.

saw some thoughts of bringing some water from the Mississippi via pipe lines to the Colorado sounds good to me... but then other people say nope not our water what the heck it flows into the gulf I have to wonder is getting some from the Missouri would help as well that is where all the water from Yellowstone river goes to if I remember correctly... we just need water everywhere

Totally agree Lyn; and it’s not just SD as Sheila mentioned.

I read a report that California is considering charging people fees for using their own well water. Can't imagine how that's gonna go over.

It's extremely dry here so taking from the Missouri River isn't a great idea....it's so low right now that it is full of sandbars. We kept hearing that we were going to be getting some of the flood water from Yellowstone but it has yet to appear. Most of the boat ramps are closed because the water is so low that you can't use them. They are considering limiting those with irrigation systems to once a week. The rural water system that we're on has had to add pipe to reach the water.

had heard that the drought was further spread but didn't realize that far...
we so need rain all over other than where it is getting it.... East coast seems to get it fairly often

I would like to see to illegal for golf courses to be built and maintained with the use of all that water for a useless thing.
