Morning All, going to be a nice day with less humidity. Have a package to pick up from the porch. Will pick up mail and empty trash then back to hibernating for the weekend. I really do not have to come in contact with people at all. How sad is that. Be safe

Good morning to All - Surprise yesterday we had lightening, thunder and rain. About a mile from us they got 3/4 of an inch of rain. We just got drips, though about 10 p.m. I heard steady rain for about one half hour, not heavy but steady. The Mall near us lost power for three hours and lots of intersections were flooded. We did get a pretty rainbow in the late afternoon. And the temperatures dropped into the high 80's, but lots of humidity. Today more rain is expected, but never know if we will get any as it rains in patches around the valley.
I spent part of yesterday cutting strips of Christmas material so I would have it if I want to make another Tree wall hanging. Finished the second one while watching a movie yesterday. Probably will get bored enough to start on another one sometime today.

Bill continues to feel fine, he goes in for the CAT scan of his heart Monday, but will not get results until Friday. Be glad when we know something for sure.
For some reason the birds ate all the flowers off of one of our lantana plants. In all the years we've had the plants this is the first time they have done that. I know it was birds cause I watched them do it. The pidgins - I dislike them. So we put mothballs in the remainder of the plants. Bill went out the other morning and discovered a mother raccoon and two little ones in our yard. They ran up our big pine tree and stayed there until he came inside.
Some wonderful person is going around our community and stealing American and Blue Line flags. We noticed ours missing yesterday. And we'd just bought it a couple of weeks ago. This time we bought a good one, all hand stitched and a sturdy wooden pole that screwed into the holder. Made us pretty disgusted. Guess we won't get another
one. There is supposed to be security around here at night.
Hope every one has a great day. Good weather and safe travels.

I wanted to put him peeking out over the flower box but I think he’s going to get lost in the flowers.

Sue, he is perfect. :D Can he be mounted on a stake and perhaps mounted behind a shrub, bush, etc. I would smile every time I saw he’s cute face. I do appreciate your talent.

Sue, he is just the cutest. Your flowers are great too. Carol I love your Xmas wall hangings so festive.

Not much to report here today. Feeling kind of puny, not sick just kind of puny and tired, even tho I slept pretty well according to Fitbit. 6hrs and a fair score of 67 so better than some nights. Just made myself a big glass of ice water, took some meds and now will settle down in the recliner. I really try to keep hydrated so far so good. Already had coffee, juice and now water.

Carol, sorry I neglected to acknowledge your beautiful wall hanging. Now days I have the short term memory of a flea. Karen, I like your word “puny”. I can’t say I hurt anywhere, I’m puny mentality. Hope your puny goes away.

Carol, sorry to hear about your flag. No matter how a person feels about the country right now, they need to leave other people and their stuff alone. Also, be careful when using the moth balls. They can be toxic to wildlife...
"Using mothballs outside to repel snakes or to keep animals out of gardens can harm children, pets, or other wildlife. Mothballs used outdoors can also harm the environment by contaminating soil, plants, and water. Mothball labels direct you to use the product only inside tightly sealed containers where the fumes are contained."

Check this out... https://www.epicnaturalhealth.com/will- ... irds-away/

With the bunnies and baby raccoons out there, they could be curious and start playing with or eating them. Look up other ways to deter the birds without doing harm. :D

OK, off my soap box...

Sue, love the raccoon peeker!

I don't know what is worse, seeing Lolas food dish on the floor not being used, or removing it and seeing the empty space where it was. :( Am waiting to hear yet about getting a foster kitty. I picked up a couple things from WM yesterday...

I need to get busy cleaning... have a good day!

Sue, he is adorable. I think the idea of him peeking is great but agree that he'd not be seen as well so I'm glad you changed where you located him. And Carol, your trees are wonderful. The talent along so many of you amazes me. Barbie I was holding back on my feelings about moth balls. I'm in agreement with you that finding a better method would be so much better.

Only a couple more weeks until the employee let go will be gone. And today I hired someone to start at that same time. Maybe I'll get some sanity back. It's so sad how one bad apple can make things miserable. I'm really looking forward to her being gone. She's off for a few days and while it makes more work, it's more peaceful. But she still managed to get one my nerves today lol.

But more important today is Ty's gotcha day. It's been 4 years!

Sweet dreams all.

LOL. I had never heard that 'gotcha' term - how appropriate!! Time sure does fly.

Why not post (again?) the story of how you two first "met".

Sorry the job has been so stressful, glad to hear the stress is (hopefully!) coming to an end.

Anne, I had lost Peaches about a month before this date. I said no more at least for awhile. About two weeks in I started looking at available dogs at the local shelters. I'm always drawn to the ones that are having a difficult time finding homes. The place advertising Ty is an all foster organization in northern Nebraska. They save animals from all over who might otherwise be euthanized or simply have trouble finding homes for various reasons. So, of course, I was interested in them. They'd had Ty awhile, at different fosters and he simply didn't show well at the adoption events, barking, jumping, people thought he'd bite, etc. So I took an overnight trip to Chadron (in the RV) and met him. Yep, a crazy boy lol I didn't understand the fear of biting but I've known similar breeds before who play the same and if you aren't familiar I can understand. Anyway, he and I walked in the rain and played ball in the backyard of the foster, etc. And he moved into the RV right then. He and I used to go to adoption events whenever they held one in Rapid City... I'd work and he'd demand to see Claire, the head of that organization. Hell never forget her.

And that's the story of Ty and I becoming family.

Thank you for posting this, Beth, I very nearly missed it. What a sweet and wonderful story.

I generally just go for "New Posts", but since there weren't any, I (being in a bit of "a mood" today) decided to look at "Unread Posts" as well - and there it was!

I guess I must try to be more diligent in looking for new posts in this way - I often wonder why it just seems to me that my posts aren't responded to very often - this may be why. I may just be missing the responses.

Thanks again for posting this story. It gave my 'down' day a bit of a much-needed 'uptick'.

;)
