Good morning to all - well yesterday turned into an interesting day. About 10:00 Bill told me he was dizzy, then I noticed he was breathing hard. He walked around the house and went outside to walk some but kept feeling weird. Then he told me his chest felt strange - like little mice were running around in it?!?!...So called ambulance - have found from past experience if you walk into hospital emergency you sit there forever, but if ambulance brings you in you get quicker treatment. Well hospital ambulance couldn't find our home as we are in the one block where the house numbers are out of sequence. Luckily the fire department paramedics found us right away. Think I'm going to bring that up with the HOA - how they have the wrong numbers on the main street. The numbers painted on the curb say 204 - 224 so no one goes down that street looking for 194. But there are two streets off that street where numbers 183 to 198 are. They were concerned that his heart rate was in low 40's - it is usually low but not that low. So decided he would go to hospital. Then they told me not to go without calling first as they would not let me in because of Covid rates going up here in Vegas. Well great. He finally called me and said they would let me in. Long story shorter. No heart attack, thank goodness, unusually slow beat, but that improved with time. They kept him overnight and he will come home later today with more or less clean bill of health. I think he got dehydrated and nervous about the up coming test that will probably show a real problem and he might have had a panic attack. He remained in ER until 10:30 last night before they had a room for him. It is kind of funny, he was hungry so got a hold of a nurse, she checked with doctor and ordered him a "cardiac menu" okay to feed him. Well they brought him a beef dish - he hasn't eaten beef or a couple of years, and it now makes him sick. So he ended up getting a sandwich from a machine - ick.
He is fine this morning and just waiting to be released. Says his room is beautiful with view of whole valley...hope our insurance pays for "beautiful rooms."
It is funny, when he is home I'[m usually in the living room watching tv or working on puzzles in the evening and he is in one of the rooms at the other end of the house, either watching TV or on computer, they are warmer than the living room. So each doing our own thing and not interacting too much. Last night the house felt empty and weird without him.
Glad his testing will be a week from coming Monday - as it is worrying both of us what they will find. He says he feels fine today.
Going into a HOT stretch of weather up to the one hundred teens for several day. Today is cool only 107. AC set at 82 came on at 8:00.
I finished my wall hanging except to hand stitch the binding on it. Think I"ll make a couple more for gifts, it was fun to do.
Guess I should get ready and go over so can bring him home as soon as they release him.

Thanks for keeping us in the Bill "loop". Hope you both can soothe your nerves while you wait out the next days of waiting. So glad that the folks at the ER could rule out any immediate dangers. Tina

Carol and Bill, I'M glad they didn't find any immediate concerns! Hope you get helpful info from upcoming tests.
We have had about a week of georgous weather 85-95! Soon warming for another triple digit stretch. A friend left CA to go see family in Colorado and Wisconsin and has had rain every day of her trip so far! Wish she could send rain back home here!
I'm just doing my usual, errands, Curves, treadmill, decluttering, so no excitement here. Keep hearing of rising rates of the virus and so I wear a mask again in crowded places. Not taking second booster yet, with medical reports I'm reading that too many doses can suppress immunity. Besides none of the current vaccine actually matches current variants.
Beth, hope the housekeeper thing gets fixed to save your sanity!
Stay well everyone.

Carol, glad Bill is doing ok. Everyone that I have talked to lately has had a bad experience at a hospital. It's like no one knows what is going on. My sister was battling a kidney infection for several months. At her last doctor's visit he sent her to the hospital to be admitted for antibiotics by IV. They didn't want to admit her and the doctor had to make them admit her. She spent 2 days in the hospital in the clothes she was wearing when she went in and they wouldn't even give her a gown. The house numbers are messed up on my road and I never though about them not being able to find my house in an emergency. People's GPS's send them past my house to an empty pasture. Since there are only 4 houses on the road it's usually not a big deal.

I talked to the guy that has cattle here and he told me he fixed the well pump and it's working. Most of the outside faucets are on the well so it's convenient if the well is working.

Not much going on today. It rained a little and looks like it could rain again. I might go to town this afternoon, mostly because I'm bored. My chicken and dressing are good. That's an easy recipe. I might make it for Thanksgiving.

Good morning. Nice sunny day today and rained a bit last night. Heat on predicted for this coming week high 80s and low 90s. So far tho our summer is not exceptionally HOT like usual.

Velda that is exactly what my doc told me not to get this second booster for me as it is the same make-up as the other one. So this fall they will have one that will cover the new variants. I can wait.

Carol so glad nothing serious with Bill and I cant tell you how important it is to ALWAYS call an ambulance if you even suspect anything heart related. We took the "Car" out of cardiac years ago. Never transport in your own car, you dont have anything lifesaving in it. Unlike the ambulance with lifesaving equipment and EMT's that know how to use it.

Update - Bill is home, every thing seems fine - for now. He has his CAT scan to help determine treatment in 9 days. Then about 4 days later we will get the diagnosis as to what can/will be done. Until then no more drama I hope. He insisted on driving home and stopping at grocery store - so seems to be back to being himself. Thanks for thinking about us.

Carol, what a tough night. I wish they could have done at least one of the upcoming tests. But I'm so glad Bill is feeling better and it wasn't more serious. Now the waiting game.

My main problem is I would have much preferred handling the leaving housekeeper more than a month ago. And she should have been let go without this dragged out notice. But at least she'll be gone. Meantime I don't trust her. In fact I trust her less than before. I have a couple decent prospects. Funny, when I wanted full time help at the store lots of workampers responded they wanted less hours. So now I want part time and most people want more. Then there's all the singles always complaining that jobs are all for couples and now I'm mainly getting couples responding. Actually only getting couples responding. Weird.

I try to sneak on and read off and on. I always plan to remember what everyone says and to respond but when I get here I don't remember often who said what.

Oh, Sheila, meatball sandwiches are awesome and require that sauce to be so. I prefer them on crispy buns but most anything can work.

Sorry about your emergency with Bill, but glad he is OK. Good point about ambulance ride--I once was in a car accident and had an ambulance ride to hospital emergency room where I was used to waiting hours and hours. With arrival by ambulance, they were stripping me and hooking me up to equipment in just a couple of minutes!! Had broken nose and big cut on nose and eyelid, but they even had a plastic surgeon available at this big, big hospital, and he was the one who stitched me up and later did more surgery on my nose to fix my big scar.

Still no COVID symptoms and still test negative, but arm aches from booster. Keeping fingers crossed. My doctor also said it probably would not help me much, but i figured that the way things go, it might be late fall before the new booster was available, so I took a chance that I will be eligible for that one by the time they get it out.

Had lunch today with the girl cousin who I grew up with, but had not seen for several years. She is one year younger than me and lived across the street from me. But she is really not doing well because of knee and hip replacement, plus back surgery. She is bent over and heavily relies on a walker. And the big problem is that her husband has early symptoms of dementia, so he will not be able to take care of her for very long. They have an old 2-story house they really need to get rid of so they can move to a single floor condo. Sad to see her in bad shape, but makes me appreciate how well I am doing for my age.

Took in just my change purse to grocery store this afternoon and left it there!!! Big panic because it also had driver's license and credit cards, plus medical cards, but I called and someone had turned it in with all cards. Whew! Got to be more careful.

Carol so glad that Bill is home and doing better... it does sound like maybe partly a panic attack... When Larry had his bypass he made a couple quick trips to the hospital do to worry that he was having a heart attack usually was a panic attack... the affect so many and so differently for each... my 3 dd has them as well.... hopefully that after the stints (if that is what they want to do) he will feel better...
It's so weird that so many places are looking for employee's and yet people can't be found so hope that you find the right person... I was totally amazed that she was given a month's notice... seems so weird to me...
my dd and her husband is coming in tonight... the condo has been repaired the walls painted but guess it will be several weeks before the floor will be done so they are putting back some of the furniture so the tenet (sil's x wife so she is understanding and getting the place for a song so she would be cutting of her nose to spite her face if she wasn't) it's seems like a long time but guess in the light of construction it's not been that long...
rain!!!! that would be nice especially where it will help the most the rains in Colorado will help the Vegas... LA area eventually as I understand it... it's going to take a lot of years to recover from this 20 year drought in some areas...
you all have a great day
