Not much noise from fireworks last night. So maybe I will escape this year. I cannot remember last year, dont even remember if I was here or away. Just staying home this weekend and will try to find something interesting on the tv, well one of the streaming channels.

HAPPY JULY 4TH

Hope everyone has a nice day, whatever you are doing! It is raining here, and we need the rain! Unfortunately, it will spoil some of the activities for families and kids.
Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Happy Fourth everyone. Not much going on here today. When I was younger, I always wanted to be with the crowd at the campground. Now I am happy when all the neighbors go camping and we stay home and avoid the traffic. Last night the neighbors off to the south fired firecrackers steady for two hours. Fortunately, they were far enough away to not be annoying. Our township has had sightings of a black bear wandering the area. He is raiding bird feeders. Last sighting was about 3 miles south of us. Black bears are not uncommon in northern MN and only occasionally seen this far south. But as man encroaches on their space they are moving south. DNR said to avoid them, take down bird feeders and store garbage cans in sheds or garages. The bears looking for food have excellent sense of smell. some homeowners have gotten some good videos of it. The cutest was him taking a verry cute bird feeder off the shepherd's hook and walking off with it. Have a happy and safe Fourth

Happy 4th everyone! I watched my city 4th parade on my phone. My Curves had a group in the parade. My burgers in air fryer turned out real good last night. I made low carb macaroni salad and Chris had his favorite brand. We had a good evening with repeat on meal tonight. And after dark, our cul de sac will gather and take turns lighting off our safe amd sane fountains and such, the ones Mel called wimpy! It will be a good chance to visit with neighbors.
Heard a distant fireworks show, but things that go boom in the night, have, this far, been way fewer than previous years. I think the greatly increased prices are putting people off.
Have a good day!

Last night, some people in the next community over were shooting off fireworks for awhile. I watched them from my bedroom window (that community is behind the park models across the street from me, behind the wall). I imagine there will be more tonight.

Am still hanging out in bed and it is almost noon! I slept in til 10:30. The BBQ isn't until 4pm so I have time to get some things done around here before then. Need to find my to-do list so I can remember what those things are :?

Rita, I found that video of the bear walking off with the bird feeder. So cute as he slowly backs up across the yard towards the woods in case someone might see him taking it! Maybe he was thinking, "no one try to stop me, and no one will get hurt!"

Have a safe and quiet holiday!

Judy, the camping group I belong to in Texas is the Texas chapter of Rving Women, the Ramblin Roses. That is a national club that has chapters all over. You can go to two campouts I think without joining. They have two Facebook pages, one that is private for members only and I think anyone can find the public one. You probably have to request to join. I only camp with the Texas chapter once or twice a year. I make the effort because I want to see my friends in Texas.

Friday I had loaded all my stuff except the food. It started raining so I got wet before I got on the road and it rained all the way to near my sister's house. It hadn't rained at the campground and it was nice and cool. Saturday and Sunday not so cool. My sister hadn't gotten her fishing license so I had to take her to Walmart in the motorhome. She could have gone with her boys and I could have picked her up at Walmart. I have to drop her off at the door because she has to walk with a rolling walker and find one of the battery carts. Walmart's system for licenses wasn't working so had to go to another outdoor type store. Saturday it rained off and on all morning but had quit by the time for the potluck. There wasn't half of the crowd from last year. Quite a few trailers have moved out. I was excited because the trailers on both sides of me had left. The one on the North blocks our view of the lake. They showed up about midnight. Glad I don't go to bed early. My sister though she was out of cigarettes Saturday night. I have no sympathy for her and her smoking. It's 15 miles to the nearest store and if I got on the road I was going home. She found a pack in her bag so emergency averted. She has coughing fits all the time but says she doesn't have COPD. We are lucky she didn't fall at the campground. She is like fishing with a kid. If she gets her line hung up I have to go see about it. The fishing was terrible. The only fish bitting were about 3 inches long. By Sunday I had enough waiting on her so we came home. It was a good day to come home, the weather was good and very little traffic.

The campgrounds had decided to do the fireworks Saturday night. We could sit by the lake and see fireworks going off in 3 or 4 places. There were boats lined up in the lake by the campground that has the best show. I wouldn't want to be on the lake trying to get home after the fireworks. You can usually see fireworks across the lake in Texas but maybe they were waiting for the 4th. I would like to know how much all the fireworks cost. Something had started a fire in the next campgound South of us. It looked like a tree was burning and the fire department showed up. A pickup from the fire department came and checked the point where our campers were firing fireworks.

I'm lucky, the fireworks don't bother Sugar at all. When we got home she didn't want to get out of the motorhome. I guess she wanted to be at the lake. She found some fish bones and ate some before I could get them away from her. I was afraid she would get sick again.

I'm glad I mowed before I left because the grass needs to be mowed again. I got 2 and 3/4 inches of rain. The bottom part of the yard is probably too wet to mow.

Shiela, I'm going to look up the recipe for salmon. I have a bag of salmon pieces and I haven't found anything to put on them that I like. Don't know why I bought it.

OK, so I am nuts in this 93 degree heat, but I went to the Meijers store in Sandusky yesterday and they had a sale on pork roasts--$1.29 a pound. I have been wanting to cook a fresh pork picnic roast for a long time, so I got one for $5.10 and have it in the oven right now. Dusted it with a ton of garlic, and it smells terrific. It is a lot of roast for one person, but I can freeze some of it for later. My son would eat it, but his wife grew up not eating pork and the kids have not had much of it, so can't share it with them.

I am already getting antsy to head west, which will be a week from today. Yea! Tomorrow I go into a truck repair place and get my emergency brake fixed, tailpipe fastened better into place, and an oil change. They do some RV work, so might get them to change oil in generator and check why my grey tank is not filling up correctly.

Did a couple of loads of sheets, towels, and small bathroom rugs, so need to run out to see if it is ready for the dryer.

I hope you all had a good 4th. Nothing exciting here but tomorrow will be super busy as all but one of our full house leaves. Nothing has happened about my idiot housekeeper or the one I want hired. We're to have a meeting tomorrow. My hopes and expectations aren't as good as a couple days ago. And it's already going to be a super busy day. Time will tell.
