Mid April Saturday

Good Morning on this chilly, cloudy, 28° Saturday morning. Winter refusing to let go and still peppering us with snow showers. Had some yesterday, supposed to today as well. At least the strong winds have moved east. I’m sure Rita and Rosemary are tired of this too.
Was interesting reading the posts yesterday about tiredness and how many of us, myself included are experiencing it. After thinking about it for awhile, I think it can be summed up in one word: Stress. Whether we realize it or not, we are all under stress and our bodies are reacting to it. We’ve been through a lot in this country these past couple years. Covid, it’s ongoing variants, deaths, vaccines, lockdowns, illnesses etc. Political turmoil, the Sociological changes in this country, Weather extremes, the Russian/Ukraine war, now inflation and it’s rising prices.
Stress leads us to eating more carbs and junk food which leads to wright gain, which leads to flab our bodies have to carry around. Vicious cycle
Some days this recliner feels too comfty to get out of, but I make myself get moving. Tina, I know what you are saying about dog walking. I love walking, but this winter there have been dsys when I wouldn’t have gone if not for the dogs, especially Molly. Some days I don’t want to go that far but I push on, as I know that is a treat and highlight of their days. I like many of us, wake up during the night and can’t go back to sleep. Another reason for tiredness. I haven’t been anywhere for the past year, except for maybe a day trip once in awhile, as I just don’t feel like going anywhere. I think it goes with getting older, as we get comfortable with our surroundings. But I know I need to break that chain and go someplace for awhile for a change of scenery, mental and physical rejuvenation. I know the next nice mild, sunny spring dsy we have, it’s time for a ride to Mackinaw and a walk alng the water by the bridge enjoying the scenery while the dogs check all the new scents. Their noses are very busy.
But for today, it will be craft work and then tonight will be heading for the Easter Vigil at church with my neighbor. There will be a dog walk thrown in as well. So I’m going to wish you all a nice day. Stay healthy and safe.
