Morning all. Rainy out this morning, temp around 33°. There is some freezing rain mixed in. It’s going to be one of those anything goes Weathe wise days. . Rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow. The bulk of the snow will be north of Gaylord. Here where I am, we could miss it altogether, but you know Nature doesn’t follow lines. I need to go to Chiropractor later this morning as my knee slipped out on me yesterdsy morning as I got up. Must have moved just right. I could feel the tightening in Mt calf muscle, but waited till todsy to call, as sometimes is it resolves itself. Hate to go out in this crazy Weather, but with the funeral tomorrow, don’t want to have to rush around if I got a morning appt.

Martha, hope last nights storms missed you. Thinking of Sarah too. I was watching the Weather Channel as I sometimes do when tbere is an outbreak in areas where I know somebody and saw live on the air TV coverage of the tornado going through New Orleans. Huge big blue flashes in the night skies, when it hit power lines. With the light from the city you could see the wedge shape of it. Now this morning I am seeing the damage that was caused..

Velda, thanks for the informative post on electrolytes etc. Beth, good thing you waited out the winds or you might have been in the storms crossing TX. Hope you now have safe travels. Judy, you certainly do have all the fun. Probably doesn’t feel like it at the time, but those are things memories are made of and make us stronger people, able to deal with anything that comes our way.

Tina, congrats on the show wins. And you had a great time to boot.

My fence guy got here and was able to do a couple hours of work before tbe weather stopped him. He did get a section of fence moved behind the garsge and temporarily in place till he can get back here to finish it and do the rest. Also finished up the corner braces. Next time he will put in the gates, finish tightening the fence he moved, put the posts in the the back line and then move that section. Don’t know if he will be back this week or not. Friday looks like only good day, weather wise.

Heading to the vet this morning with Audrey. SHe has been picking at her meals for a couple of days. She isn't demonstrating any other scary symptoms bit for an ENglish Cocker not to quickly clean her bowl, something is not right. Hoping it is something simple like a sore mouth but I couldn't see anything with my untrained eyes and it was time to take her in before her overall health began to slip. It is easier to heal something simple than to wait out symptoms until they get tragic and life threatening to other systems. SHe is still wagging her tail and looking like she wants to eat so we have that going for her...... Sinus infection is still dragging me down, along with the drainage and the accompanying sore throat. I forgot how long it has been since I was ill with this sort of thing. But I remember that it generally makes me miserable until it is over. It just take time and patience.

Haven’t read the paper yet so not sure what sports I will be watching on TV. Between Basketball and Softball right now it keeps me busy.
We now are supposed to separate our garbage from our trash. I remember 60 years ago we had garbage cans and garbage trucks. Then they said we could mix garbage and trash. Now they want us to go back to separate them! I guess if you live long enough every thing goes around.

I've been AWOL a few days and haven't even read, so I'll have to catch up at some point.

2nd or of 3 big hurdles is done. Closed on Dad's house on Monday! My cousin who lives 3 doors away, and whose son lives next door bought it, thinking maybe when one or both of his twin daughters decide to move out of Chicago, they may want it. If not, he'll flip it. It needs alot of work, but it's not my headache anymore. Yippee!! Staying rent free for the last month and just covering utilities.

Also been thinking of buying a landing place here for emergencies or when i decide to become a snow bird. Found a place i really liked, a single family home, but basically a detached townhomes where the association does the maintenance. Then i read the builder reviews (1 star) and quickly changed my mind.

So instead I bought a new TT. Sticking with Grand Design. It will be my 4th from them. Between their great customer service and the 2nd one never leaking with all the hail damage in Cheyenne, I'm a lifer at this point. It's only a foot longer than my current one, but has a bit more storage and an actual dinette. The table in my current one is a pita since it attached to the recliners. Gotta get the trade out of storage on Saturday and then will pick up the new one on the 31st, bring it to Camp Dad's Driveway, and hit the road on Easter (27th).

Not so itty bitty news today, but things are coming together. Just waiting on the 7, yes 7, tax returns. Then the rest of the financial stuff I can do from the road.

Good Morning, Congratulations Cheryl on all the good news. I hope you can get those taxes done and hit the road!!! Velda, thanks for the information about the electrolytes . I had all the symptoms you mention especially the tiredness so went to the drug store this morning and bought Liquid IV brand per the pharmacist recommendation. It is a dry mixture you put in 16oz of water. She said don't take it all the time as too much potassium can damage the heart. I'm going to try it once and see how I feel. Tina I hope Audrey is ok and that you feel better soon!! Sue hope you don't have to be out too much in the bad weather.
Tomorrow is my second cataract surgery and I am ready for it to be over!! I'm going to miss a surprise birthday party for Emma's trainer. She has been talking to the breeder about a puppy that has the same parents as Emma but she has been debating. Her DH called the breeder who has said she would be a co-owner so if anything happens she would take the puppy back. They are going to bring it to her tomorrow for the party. I'm not sure how Emma will react! I felt pretty good after the last surgery so I may feel like going. It was fairly warm here this morning but temps have dropped and the wind is wicked!

BJ, go watch some videos on potassium. The limit s higher than most people like pharmacists realize. And potassium you get from food does count, but is handled/absorbed differently than supplements. What did pharmacist tell you was the limit? Saying, "don't take too often" is just strange and kind of ignorant, because it doesn't take into account each individuals needs nor their diet! You might look up food you commonly eat, and make a guesstimate of how much potassium you take in. What is the amount of sodium, magnesium and potassium in each serving of that drink? Does it contain sugar (a no no)?

I woke with the continuing pain in various joints, none of which I had before CoVid! So frustrated. If chiropractor can't help, I'm calling my Dr as I done see him until April 5. Tired of hurting , and, I'm in the unenviable position of my stomach being very sensitive to every anti-inflammatory I've ever tried. I have read Drs are describing a condition called reactive arthritis (as in it doesn't fit other types arthritis by X-ray or lab results and comes on suddenly attacking various joints), following CoVid. Just not sure how to get out of this predicament as its interfering with so much. I'm just tired of this.

Weather here very warm for March, possibly as high as 86 today! Then cooler on weekend with showers possible. We could use rain! I need to find a gardener to mow the back as I can't handle the riding mower right now!

Just lost my post Will try it again!

I am feeling better now. I am thinking that my symptoms are from being dehydrated. I try to drink a lot of water but when I am at work, I get busy and forget. I do drink Propel and that has some electrolytes but I should get that additive one of you mentioned.

Nothing much happening today other than some inside stuff since it is going to be in the 90's today. Mid to upper 90's now thru next weekend. So outdoor things will go to the bottom of my list of things to do. Probably just do laundry and clean the kitchen today.

Finished up the putter's golf league yesterday but I told the group that if anyone still wants to play on Tuesday mornings, to show up and we will just play for fun.

I did 2 haircuts yesterday and then went to the bank to deposit my money from the yard sale, tips from work, and money from haircuts here in the park. I got an over due notice in the mail yesterday for my park model registration that was due at the end of January! I am sure I paid that so will have to go thru my paperwork and see if I can find that bill. The second half of my property taxes are due soon too.

I was approached by a woman on the putters league yesterday about looking in on her park model over the summer while they are away (Canadians). She will pay me $20 per month to just go over and check on it once a month. I am also getting to use the golf cart of my neighbors across the street for free, for checking on their place over the summer as well.

I have 2 cousins on my dad's side that I don't keep in touch with, and all my first cousins on my mom's side are gone now. My mom had me late (38), and her older sister and brother had their kids at a young age, so my cousins' kids are actually my age. I have several of them plus some "cousins" that are the kids of my mom's cousins, that are my age, that I still keep in touch with back in MN. Oh, I do have some other cousins in Moline, IL who are the kids of my dad's cousin there. I occasionally keep in touch with them.

Bought some fresh picked strawberries yesterday along with some chocolate dipping sauce and had that for a snack last night. So yummy! I am still getting one ripe strawberry from my plant each day. They are small but very sweet and juicy! The little tomatoes are getting bigger every day too! They are cherry tomatoes so shouldn't be long before they start turning red and ready to pick and eat! This heat should help that along!

My eyes are really itchy and watery this morning. Must be an allergy to something. Will try taking an allergy pill and see if that dries them up some. Eye drops don't do much.

Cheryl, congrats on selling your dad's house and buying a new trailer! I am sure you are very relieved and ready to hit the road again!

I was thinking this morning that since most of us have lost our parents and our aunts and uncles, our cousins are the only people who knew us well as children. We also have shared experiences with the general family that no one else has--grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other cousins. For me, at least, that is one of the big reasons I enjoy getting together with them so much.

Going to call around and try to find some tires so I can get them put on tomorrow.

Barbara, when you drink plain water, you are actually washing out electrolytes, enhancing dehydration and causing electrolyte depletion.! Propel has no magnesium, only 70 mg potassium and 270 mg sodium, but least if you buy sugar free it doesn't have sugar! It has AceK sweetener, which is not great but better than sugar. But, do not count on it for electrolytes. At least find a product with a balance of sodium, potassium and magnesium and NO sugar! if you put a sprinkle of good quality sea salt plus a sprinkle of NUSalt ( potassium- found where you find salt in store) , plus maybe a tiny squirt of a flavor such as sugar free Mio, in a glass of water, you would be close but that still doesn't cover magnesium. I like CALM magnesium from Costco, which is magnesium plus it's sugar free but has a nice lemon raspberry flavor. and it's cheap per serving. You posted some time ago that your blood sugar was up. Have you checked that recently?

All of you with cousins, are so lucky! I grew up with barely knowing my Moms brother by adoption ( so not a blood relative) two boys and knowing slightly better my Dads only 2 a niece and a nephew. Thankfully I now am close to that one male cousin, but that's it. I longed for a big family, but Mel had only a sister who had no children, putting my boys in same position, no cousins, as I'm an only. It's so wonderful all of you who have that relationship with cousins.

On looking at my Louisiana map, we have more women in the path of tornadoes. One lives in Metairie, she has darling black and white dog that rides in the basket of her bike. Her daughter is named Katrina. I cannot remember her name.
Do we have a friend who lives in Breaux Bridge? Seems to me there is one more who lives a little further East.
Boy, I am bad today at remembering names.
Beth, I am so glad you are being cautious. This storm was/is BAD.

I have 4 cousins that are actual blood relatives from my mom’s brother (my uncle). But that’s it. They are all still living. . Haven’t talked to the one In PA in years, nor one other one who lives downstate as do the others, one of whom I am in contact with all the time, well, rather his wife. We chat on Mesenger a lot. I did talk to him the other night though, or should say listened, while he talked about Ukraine, the President, gas/oil and a mess of other things that I know are all misinformation related . Guess it was vent night But we did discuss other things. He has always been my favorite cousin. His wife is Polish and has cousins in Poland about 7 miles from the Ukraine border, so they are keeping an eye on the goings on. I do have second cousins, the kids of their kids, but I wouldn’t know them if ai passed them on the street.

Then there are the 3 nieces and one nephew from my uncle’s side as mentioned above. We are not blood relation, but family through marriage per say. Two of them, one whose husband’s funeral I am going to tomorrow, live up here, not far from me. Now both of them are now widows. So yes Judy, we are the current. generation who have lost or are losing parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, husbands, sisters, brothers etc. I am the last of my family and when I go the name goes with me. We are born, we die, the next generation succeeds us and life moves on.

Lyn, Carolyn Patin Jones is in Beaux Bridges and Claudia Vieth is another one down that a way too.

We didn't live close to cousins, but I have great memories of times spent with some of them. And am still in touch with a few.

After I had heat stroke I got good at drinking coconut water. It made a big difference. And most of the sugar is natural from the coconut. Great for potassium. But I wouldn't suggest the powder. I usually try to have some on hand.

I'm now at an Escapees coop park about an hour outside of San Antonio. I'm planning to stay 2 nights, then doubt I'll have any connections again until arriving at the motel. The drive today was good, starting with no wind whatsoever. When I walked Ty I saw a chicken with lots of babies walking in the park. So cute and Ty surprised me and calmly let them walk past.

Cheryl, it's so exciting that things are moving forward so nicely. And more exciting that you'll be traveling with a new tt. Not so exciting that the place you liked had bad builder reviews. Maybe a sign not to rush.

Cousin topic is interesting. Family gatherings in Kansas when I was little were spent with cousin just a month older. We kept in touch through high school and not so much after that. One of the benefits of traveling was catching up with her again. I had over 20 cousins on Mother's side. My grandmother kept the family updated on each other. Seeing some of those cousins was a benefit, too, along with meeting their children and grandchildren. Most I had not seen in years. Now it's mostly through FB. Family reunions on my dad's side started in the 80s so I became acquainted with 2nd cousins.

I do still have my Kansas aunt who will be 93 this year. Guess her son is the cousin I have seen the most, but he's 9-10 years younger (like my brother and sister).

Picked up the mail as I headed to the car for dentist appointment. Realized sun had come out so took the Sling instead - was a little chilly in the 50s and I didn't think to grab a jacket.

Strangest dental appointment I've ever had. Took my BP, massaged neck for swollen lymph nodes, some sort of periodontal mapping, camera for pictures in my mouth. Apparently, insurance covers it all. That front tooth I chipped 2 years ago will be fixed next month. Not as expensive as I expected and nice insurance!
