Sunday February 27

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday February 27

Morning All, clear and 39° warming to 51° Sounds like a good day to wash the slider and balcony door. World always looks brighter through clean glass. Spent yesterday trying to learn how to prune a tomato plant. Really liked the Juliet plant I had last year but it became a monster. There was an abundance of 2” tomatoes. It was an indeterminate tomato plant and grew over 6” tall. If I plant a bush type thr tomatoes come all at once and then there are no more. Still thinking. Looking forward to Karen’s renovation pictures. #1 daughter and sil offered to take me out to dinner last night but offer came too late. Porch friend and I agree, we have become house hermits. Getting nervous about winter sowing since I don’t see any bits of green in the jugs but might be too early. Need to start the day. Be safe

We had a chicken made in the smoker dinner here yesterday and today will be a fish fry from all the fish being caught when some of them go fishing. I even started helping a bit... Put out the salt and pepper shakers and made the coffee haha

Today the temps are still cold, similar to yours Shirl. But it's an improvement over the past few days. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's rise and the rest of the week.

Well it was a surprise to be outside this morning at 5am. I was dressed as Nanook of the North as our temps have been low 20's, This morning it was 51 LOL LOL Our high will only be 58 instead of 46 so I am happy.

Showers are finished. Just need to clean them and put up the rods so I can hang my shower curtains. They look very good and I am super happy for just buying a middle of the road shower. I was only going to do one shower but as hard as it is to get help in this town figured I would just go ahead and do both bathrooms. So happy I decided to do that. Was a reasonable price and they did a great job.

This morning my technology challenged ex neighbor is coming over to have me print his Social Security 1099. I sure hope he has his passwords written down. He is not real good at that and I am posessed making sure I have all of mine securely documented. We shall see.

Got done with all the vacuuming from the umpteen trips in and out of the house from the worker bees. Need to wash the bathroom floors also but will do that as I put my bathrooms back together again. My house is big so I like to vacuum the front half then the back half the next day. I get worn out pushing that heavy vacuum. The rest of the time my Robot vacuum does just fine. But always needs some deep down vacuuming every couple of weeks.

YIKES Beth made coffee.........scary thought LOL

Hi ladies~~~

Just past noon here. I'm betting Beth's coffee may be better than mine. I didn't start drinking it until my 40's so I don't know if it's too weak or strong. :? I have a single cup brewer that I bought for dad's. Friend said it was good. Maybe I better keep it for company.

Got reservations made thru July 5th in NH. I tried booking SPs cuz private CGs are crazy $$$$$. But it is what it is. Now to work on some where close to Acadia. Then that NP can be off my list and I'll start working my way south.

Organizing camper stuff a bit, but I'll go thru it better when I pick up the TT and see how much extra stuff I may have while still settling dad's estate. Hope it's not much!

Have a good day ladies! Spring is coming!

Good morning,

Woke up too early and couldn't go back to sleep. May need more coffee! :D The predicted 'dusting' of snow changed to 2-4" and most of that has come. Sun keeps peeking out as snow is falling.

Shirl, I knew I'd be a hermit when I moved in here. This latest 'at home' streak was 13 days. I used to have people come check on me or comment when they eventually saw me in RV parks! Karen, seems that project went pretty smoothly. Yummy dinners, Beth! Cheryl, I was late 30s when I started drinking coffee. I had a job with not enough to do and had to stay awake.

I asked Monica about the chicken, but no news. She said she wonders who every time they drive in and out of the park. :)

Haha. I'm allergic to caffeine so I've been making coffee for years but can't drink it. Got quite sick when I first tried it and now you can't get me to try decaf either. Just the taste yuck lol. So I always have laughed when stores I've managed would compliment the coffee. Thank goodness for prepackaged and add water.

I'm a hermit more often than not. Workamping forces me out and about. Walking Ty pretty much is my social life. But in doing so I've met people because he wants to romp with their dogs and these people convince me I need to join more. I've now agreed to play Texas Hold'em Wednesday. Maybe I can win! Haha. I love the game but haven't played in years.

Shirl, the farmers here don't start planting until around Good Friday. Probably a Catholic thing. You might be too early. You are going to keep talking about gardening until I will have to haul one of the feed tubs up on the carport and plant something. Harold would try to plant tomatoes in them but he had them beside the old brick house and I think they got too hot. My catnip is still growing. I have to keep a rack over it or the cats will lay in them.

It has only gotten up to 55 but the sun is out. I didn't hear it rain last night but we got 1/4 inch.

I didn't start drinking coffee until I started working. Being the flunky at my first job I had to make the coffee. Now I have a Keurig in the house and the camper. I got tired of hauling it back and forth. K-cups are probably an expensive way to drink coffee but oh well. I like the flavored coffee so order a case. I am forever picking up different kinds at the stores.

My son shared a video that showed a baby chick pecking fleas off a dog. I ask him if he wanted me to get him a chicken. You can still mail chickens and I sometimes hear them at the Post Office. They are probably fighting roosters. It's against the law to fight chickens but not to raise them.

Sugar let me sleep until 8:15 so maybe I won't feel like I need a nap all day. I cooked a crawfish pie for lunch. Since the oven was hot I had to bake 6 cookies.

My camping friends like to play games. About all I will play is LCR(left, right, center with dice). That's about my speed. I don't pay attention so never know when it's my turn. Some of the card games are too confusing to me. There are so many ways to play Mexican Train I tell them they are making up the rules.

Sorry, posting again BECAUSE I’M BORED. Lol Found great link for easy recipes which I posted. Directions for air fryer said not to use cooking spray but did not say why. I bought a nice spray bottle and spray with olive oil and smear with my clean hand. Read today that Pam and cooking sprays contain some ingredients (can’t remember the name) that ruins the finish on nonstick pans. That explains what happened to some of my pans. Back to you tube

Hi ladies!

It's evening now and I don't drink coffee ever. In fact, I don't drink anything hot, including tea or hot chocolate. I can tolerate hot chocolate when it's bitter cold but I like my drinks to be ice cold.

There's nothing new here in central Florida other than the weather is being nice. I don't have to wear layers anymore. In fact, right now, I'm wearing capris and a short sleeved top. There are lots of activities going on so there is always something we can do, if we want to. I mostly keep myself involved with practicing for church, plus I walk with friends most mornings. Three days a week we walk 3 miles and 2 days a week it's only 1-1/2 miles. There is going to be a Hawaiian Luau here for two days on Friday and Saturday. I want to see if I can find some Hawaiian flowery shirts to wear. Steve has dinner on, so let me see how he is doing.

shirl my dd is a pampered chef consultant and she says that the airsol spay is the worst for pans...
some of what you mentioned is some of the reason's.... I was going to ask her more but she needs to do some lesson's.. and went to another room... couldn't be because I was on speaker...
I'm with you Irmi either very hot or very icy cold!!! when it come's to beverages... I had to laugh at a memory
guess my mom was so bad at making coffee that she made tea drinkers out of them... we don't drink coffee so it would be the reason I guess... I think that was an uncle that said that... or a "hired hand" for the hay fields a chicken huh? that would be interesting to see but the visual??? poop all over as I can't see training them... wonder if fish is allowed as it only said cats or dogs???
so no lingering effects of the "fall" not even a bruise dang think it's always nice to get at least a reason to complain... I wore the flip flops because the sidewalks and streets were bare but oh was it cold... Sat I wore sandles... I would really like to remember the name of the ones I wore for years so I could get news ones can't imagine what they cost now as when I got them in 2008 they were over a hundred on sale but they wore for years so worth it ... but the old pair (kept so I'd recall name of and style of ) are in the trailer... does me a lot of good doesn't it????
yesterday we went to the aquarium had the little ones one will be 3 later in the spring and the 6 month old he actually may be older than that 7 perhaps... then my youngest her two are 8 and almost 2 so it was fun a lot of walking I used the "wagon" for a walker though that really helped... I enjoy the aquarium probably not a nice as some closer to the coast's but for being land locked it's not bad
we went to the play last night was so good.... my granddaughter had 3 rolls she played the mama oger and the mama bear and the dragon... she did so good oh I said that  told my grandson who was sitting near me that I didn't know she had that voice in her... going to go tomorrow night ... it will be closing night guess they have judges come and they were there last night the comment for her was a fantastic voice ... yep she did good!!!
oh after the play we went for ice cream yep we do love our ice cream the two places that we typically would go to were closed... I'm sure lack of employee's it seems to rampant... so went to one think it was attached to a Mexican eatery and was Mexican usually adventurous but settled for the chocolate sundae I wish I'd gotten something else though... my son got a thing of mango with hot stuff on it was really good some got other things that looked so good I will go back but not for chocolate sundae
had to laugh saw a women come in and she had shorts on that tops my flip flops :o
you all have a great night.

Funny stories about those of us who do not like coffee. I used to own a coffee pot and buy coffee, but if someone came to my house, they had to make their own coffee because apparently the stuff I made was pretty bad. My older son also does not like coffee, but my younger one cannot live without it in the morning. The few times he has come with me camping, he drives out to a nearby store or fast food place for his morning cup since I tossed my coffee pot out a long time ago!

Traveling to the UK is rough on me because every hotel room or B&B room comes with an electrical kettle and packets for hot tea and coffee. I like my drinks very cold with ice, and I really go through a tough time there. People there really cannot understand why some of us Americans prefer cold to hot drinks. One hotel I stayed at in London had a very small bar in the lobby. I had the bartender trained to give me a large glass full of ice and a bottle of cold Coke every afternoon when I came back from sightseeing. Tipped him generously!

And I missed taking a photo of the time I was in a museum cafe and bought a large Pepsi and asked for a glass of ice. They gave me something about the size of our little 5 oz kitchen cups with two ice cubes in it for a 16oz bottle of soft drink! It was really quite funny at the time.

Slept in this morning because...well, I could! :D Watched my church service. Then got up and started in on the chores around here. Took out the trash (I don't know how one person can have so much trash piled up in just one week!), cut up my cardboard boxes and did 2 loads of laundry. Then I started to tackle organizing my gourd stuff in my living room. Got a lot of that organized but need more containers for stuff. I also have stuff in the porch and need to put that stuff with the living room stuff, consolidate it and get it all in organized containers. Will pick up a few containers at WM tomorrow and also stop at the dollar store for some as well. I need the small skinny containers (3 pack for a buck at the Dollar Store) to go into the bigger ones to keep like things with like things. The small ones are good for pencils, markers and paint brushes. Got some new bits for my carver last week since the ones that came with it are not ones I really need for gourds. I still haven't found the tips for my wood burner. They hopefully are in one of the containers in the porch. I know I stuck the tips into a piece of styrofoam.

Still have a lot to do in the living room and porch but did get quite a bit done. I also moved my love seat against the back wall. It will give me more space (or at least look like it) once I go thru the bins and put that stuff away.

We are having one last yard sale here on March 18th that I want to participate in, so I need to get thru all these bins and get stuff put aside for the sale. Found quite a bit just today to sell (or give away).

I have Tuesday off but have putters golf in the morning and then 4 haircuts scheduled after that, so will have less time to do stuff around here but will do what I can. Still need to plant my tomato plants. I have had them on the deck in their little containers for the past week. I did notice some little yellow buds on them today tho so that is encouraging.

I want to talk to the activities director here about organizing a singles group/activities here for next year. Not like a dating thing, but just some get-togethers for the single people here. I find I don't get invited to any stuff by my 'couples' friends, and there are a lot of 'couples' related planned activities here as well. Couples don't seem to invite singles to their happy hours, etc, so I thought maybe the activities director could come up with some things for us single people here next year.

I am also not a coffee drinker. Everyone in my family are (were) coffee drinkers but me. Never liked the taste of it. The closest I come to it is powdered French vanilla cappuccino mixed with hot milk. I like flavored hot cocoa in the evenings with some Baileys mixed in. :D

It was in the mid 70's today, 80 tomorrow and 90 on Tuesday, and then start cooling off again. I like 70's the best. It is funny how different places label the weather. In Los Angeles, they will put out an excessive heat warning when it hits 95* or more. Here in the desert, we don't get an excessive heat warning until it is over 115*. :?

Off to bed...

I'm surprised at how many don't like coffee. If I don't have it in the morning I get a headache. We were always given coffee with milk at home for breakfast. I remember being in Ireland the first time in the early 90's. I ordered coffee and they brought me instant Maxwell House in a packet and a pot of hot water! I tried to tell them I wanted real coffee and they kept saying but it is Maxwell House. Next time I went I took coffee with me but by that time real coffee was available. I have friends that don't drink coffee and they had a large group over for breakfast and they had no coffee! I had coffee and a four cup Mr Coffee maker in my van so went out and brought it in. People were standing anxiously beside the pot waiting!
I used to eat ice all the time and crave cold drinks. The doctor said it was because my iron level was too low. Since that was resolved I no longer eat ice or crave it. That was another thing I missed the first time in Ireland the lack of ice in drinks but since I believed all the signs that said 'Guinness is good for you' I didn't miss it too much.
