Tuesday morning in Madrid

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday morning in Madrid

Postby carold » Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:40 am

WOW! This vacation has just flown by. It's Tuesday am in Madrid and we are packed and heading to the airport to go back to the USA. :D Will find some time to post pics when I settle back in, but you can get a preview in DH's blog.

Happy 35th anniversary, Mitch and good weather to all. Will catch up on yesterday's post when home and then we have to plan our trip (in jello) for the next few months.

Left some cafe con leche, croissants, fruit and spanish tortillas (eggs with whatever-like a quiche), toast, questo (cheese) and jamon (ham) on the table. Enjoy. Hasta la vista. carold

GOOD MORNING, ALL!!

Madrid as in SPAIN??? WOW----fancy morning goodies today!! Can't wait to hear about your trip, Carol---and see some pictures!

Rain and 46 degrees out there....this is REAL spring weather! Maybe this will wake up the Spring Peepers so I can camp at the leanto this weekend and be serenaded! The male woodcocks are doing their mating flights at dusk now, spinning and twirling around in the sky with those swirly squeals---then they plummet down to the fields like a falling piece of meterorite where they let out their familiar "PEENT" when they land. All these theatrics to attract a mate! The shows are sure signs of spring to me.

We made it through the day with not much discussion of Columbine yesterday, and those students who like to emulate the murderers didn't even wear their trench coats. We as teachers and parents really need to find a socially acceptible way of allowing kids to protest rules and regulations and laws in a non-violent manner. I think our society is very remiss about stifling anger and resentment, thereby fostering secret 'cult-like' behavior which can sometimes erupt in violence, as it did in Columbine High School. Those two kids were obviously in trouble long before that day, and yet nobody either dared to intervene or knew HOW to intervene in time. I can remember being an extremely angry high school-aged person when I was growing up, wanting to assert myself and get 'out from under' the annoying rules of society, the school, and my parents. Luckily, I found harmless ways to protest and 'test' the waters without ever even thinking of killing anyone.

I think about things like this often as I work with kids whom I know are disgruntled, downtrodden, picked on, shunned, oppressed, lacking in any self-respect, and just basically very unhappy souls. I must be aware and take steps to try to give them some sort of good feelings about themselves, and some constructive directions for their emotions. Enough of this for this morning!

Coffee is Hazlenut again----can you tell it's my fave??!! Pull up a chair and tell us about your day yesterday, or your plans for today. And don't forget how much we LOVE to see pictures!

I hope those in the paths of more violent storms have plans to stay safe. Spring up here is slow to arrive, but never as violent as spring in the south. Slow, but steady, is the way we go!

Time to check on Pete's Pond in Africa---amazing that I can sit here in my living room and watch the wild critters of Africa visit their water hole in live time!! And that fat eaglet, although still in the dark at this hour, sure is getting BIG!

Happy Tuesday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning everyone!

Yes, Soos, Carol and her DH have been in Spain on a great vacation. If you look at her signature you will see her hubby's blog addy,... lots of great photos there. Time for me to check it out again, too!

The rain is wonderful this a.m.... the peepers are singing! The woods were getting so dry I was afraid we were headed into a very dry summer. Not good for forest fires.

Well, time for me to get ready to get to work. Gotta admit, I've loved this time at home, got so many things done here,.... but I'm ready to get back to work. Guess that's healthy!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning!

Carol....I'm looking forward to a full trip report with pictures. Sounds like a great trip!

Soos, you do a good work with those high school kids. Hope you can relax at the pond this weekend and share some video of the peepers peeping and woodcocks swirling.

More house cleaning and rv cleaning here today. Hope everyone does something fun today....I know Sparkle and Beth will.

A cool sunny morning here in Auberquerque. The Rally is over. A fun time once I got over my back problem. We watched Papa Doo Run Run, or is it Ron Ron? Whatever, they were great and put on a very upbeat show. All in all I enjoyed the Rally. would I do it again, I don't think so, but maybe like childbirth you forget the bad parts and only remember the good.
Beth and I are off on our travels again. We are going to drop a littler South, park for 2 or 3 days and use the truck to visit various places. Then head to the East part of NM and do the same thing there. Then it will probably be time for me to head to my job.

A bit chilly this AM but we have sunshine with a nice warm up expected by end of week.
No great plans for the day other than to enjoy a little of that sun and get back to work on a couple of neglected tasks around here.
Carol: Your trip sounds wonderful. Soos: Good job with those kids; and getting ready to camp the the really chilly north. Sparkle & Beth hitting the road again, what are we in for now?
Bingo on tap tonight. Got to try out new hearing aids in that environment.
Wishing all a safe and warm day.

GOOOOOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy oh boy it's been awhile since I've been able to say that! We get really crappy cell and aircard signal out here in the holler! Dang snaky, twisty road anyway. Takes between 10 - 15 minutes to get out of here to the main road. Just depends on how fast ya want to travel. But we have found one place in the house that for the most part can at least get a signal to get on line. "Sometimes"! It's not a sure thing and it bites. Can sit here and get a signal that's slower than Victorian dial-up and then 30 minutes later it's deader than a door nail. ~sigh~

There are a total of 3 houses on this road and it's named for the family of the guy up on the corner of this and another road. It's Jenny's 'step grandfather'. Can't complain tho as the kids are gonna be living here rent free. As long as they are taking care of the house, doing the work on fixing it up and putting in their money there's no rent. Which really helps them out big time.

And yep we're still in TN. At least for another day maybe two. Will do a seperate post on that.

But I see I missed Birthdays and prayer requests and all kinds of other stuff. But just to let ya know? while I don't say Happy Birthday to everyone each day ya'll are in my prayers each and everyday whether I am posting or not!!!!

Ok, time for a refill on my coffee, hope ya'll left me some of the regular high test kind! Try some goodies from Madrid too. Hope you and hubby have a good trip home Carol.

Hope everyone has a great day and remembers to stay safe.

Love to all

Good Morning! It's a beautiful sunny day in Middle Tennessee. We are extremely busy getting ready to have a large sale this weekend, plus finishing some things up on our house. It's supposed to be pretty all weekend so hoping for a large turnout.

Happy 35th Anniversary to Michelle! That's a long time! I will partake of some breakfast goodies and then get to work! Happy day to everyone!!!
