And Now It’s Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And Now It’s Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:44 am

Morning everyone. Cloudy and 26°. Might have a little light snow but not going to amount to much, over the course of the day. Had a couple inches on Sunday night, the most we have had in a couple weeks. We are down over 20 inches below normal snowfall.

I’m up, showered and dressed with breakfast in the tummy. Now just sitting and relaxing for awhile, as fence contractor is coming this morning to move and realign my fencing. So I won’t be into much today. I cleared the yard of snow while I was out with the snowblower yesterday, at least inside the current fenced area.

Shirl and BJ, the athletic type pants I wear for loungewear are Athletic and I get them at Walmart. They are a cotton/Polyester blend. I wear fleece sweatpants all winter during the day, trips to town or anywhere I go, and will go back to my regular pants when the weather warms up again. I used to wear jeans when I was younger but don’t anymore. They are too warm in the warmer months and they don’t keep me warm in winter. I wear snowpants or ski bibs over my fleece pants when I am out walking the dogs, blowing snow or whatever in winter. And sometimes just a pair of wind pants over fleece pants on chilly fall days. I get my fleece sweatpants in the men’s department a our local Meijer store.

Been enjoying some of the Olympics in the evening. We are waiting for the Women’s aerials this coming Weekend so we can cheer on our local gal.

Got some paint yesterday for the last room in the basement. Cleared out the storage shelves and will sort out stuff to donate as I put it back after painting. Then will tackle the basement floor, give the tiled part a good cleaning and call it quits down there. Need some pegboard hooks and storage drawer box for my workshop, but that’s just puttery stuff.

Aww Sandi, hope things work out for you so you don’t have to worry about health issues.

Guess I will get organized a bit here before he gets here. Have a nice dsy everyone.

Couple pictures of my recently painted storeoom.

Sue, the room looks so fresh and clean. And I agree about jeans. I don't think I even own a pair any more. When they get cold in the winter there is no getting warm! I have 2 pairs of sweat pants for really cold days.

It'll be another lazy day here. Aren't they all? Lol. But back into the low 70's with no rain. :)

Off for a walk to see what birds are about enjoying this day.

Good morning!

Sandi, I had to Google! :) Other than the family gene, you are right about not fitting the pattern. Hoping treatment goes well.

Sheila, I am too far from the coast in my opinion! :) At least 5 to 6 hours.

I have some light weight fleece pants and some polyester/spandex pants I wear at home in the winter. Latest jeans are very light weight.

Starting to think about travel. Need to see my aunt in Kansas and grandkids if they have time. Ireland end of June, maybe Alaska to see grandson in August, niece in Hawaii October.

Beth, days aren't necessarily lazy, not all of them anyway, but they are certainly laid back! :)

Afternoon all, sunny and 50° Sue, always glad to see your pictures. Surprising what an improvement a can of paint makes a how good it makes you feel. Sandi, disappointing news but they are making great strides in medicine. Don’t get discouraged. ((Hugs))) Life is still challenging so not much chit chat. Be safe

It's sunny and back to 70 here. It's ok in the sun but still cool in the wind. I had the bright idea of walking this morning. I fed the cats behind the old house so they couldn't see me leave. Yesterday Mini Moo followed me and Sugar to the first curve and the neighbors cat attacked him. I made it to the end of the road and back. It's a mile to the end. I did take my phone in case I had to call someone to come get me. Hope I can still walk tomorrow.

The denim they make women's jeans out of now isn't the old heavy duty, stiff denim. It's hard to find any that aren't made out of stretch denim. Which is probably a good thing now. My favorite brand is Ralph Lauren but I'm not paying $150 for a pair of jeans. I use to be able to find them at TJ Maxx but haven't seen any there in a long time. Now it's all skinny jeans with no front pockets. If I ever fall and break something it will probably be from trying to get my feet out of a pair of skinny leg jeans.

Sue, I wish my storage looked as neat as yours does. After hurricane Laura, when I got a foot of water in the old house, I bought about 5 shelve units to get things off the floor so I don't have to wash it again. I need to go back to filling the trash can every week. That was a good hobby.

Another beautiful day here. Sure wish we could get some rain, but all the predictions never pan out. Sue, your storage room looks great and a nice place to keep things organized.

Anita, I envy all the travel you’re planning for the coming months - especially the Hawaii trip. Maybe it’s the weather here, but I wear jeans all the time except in the hotter months.

Stay safe everyone.

I woke up early this morning and get ready and put everything out in the car. I left 2 hours earlier than planned! No issues heading to AZ other than my GPS lady wasn't happy about my chosen route.

Got settled in with my roommate, Gloria. We did a lot of talking and have a lot in common. Later we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then to WM to pick up a few things.

I got a text message from my cat sitter saying it was a little warm in the house. I told her that was OK since Lola likes it warmer anyways but to turn on the air if it gets over 85. She also said the key that I gave her didn't work. Luckily, the door wasn't locked. I thought I locked it before I left but guess it didn't latch all the way. But that was a good thing since they wouldn't have been able to get into the house if it has been locked. I told her not to worry about leaving the house unlocked. There is nothing worth stealing in there anyway. Told her just to shut the gate on the deck to discourage anyone going up there. My neighbors watch things close around there and my next door neighbor has a bright motion sensor light that shines right on my deck if anything/anyone goes between our houses.

Tomorrow is the class with my roommate. It is supposed to be quite warm so hopefully, I won't get too hot sitting out in the sun.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

watched an interesting recipe today on FB Taylor??? I think showing how he makes chili dogs quite interesting his "chili" was more like the meat mixture I make for sloppy joes with out the chicken jumbo in it.... same ingredients actually ... and he did this one think put the dog's in a hot brine before grilling them... need to see if I can find the recipe as this was just a video...
woke up went to the bathroom back to bed to wait for the alarm to go off and saw a mouse trap on the floor good thing that I didn't set it off  the amazing thing is mom got a mouse trap into my room and I didn't even wake up I am a much sounder sleeper than I actually thought :o
Anita will you be home in Sept??? I hope so as my dd and I are driving to Seattle and beyond to visit with my sister/friend we tell everyone we are sister's but not by blood... then going on a cruise to AK with the family then back to friends for better part of a week I want to stop by and see you probably on way home...
wish I could remember the cruise line we will be on... so I could get ideas of what to do when docked.... one thing some of are going to do is the high tea in Victoria might as well spend all our money right off the bat  Speak of AK Kerry is possibly going to drive for a tour bus line up there for the summer.. even though her back bother's her a lot driving is something she can do without a lot of pain
Barbi enjoy your time at the gourd fest.... learn lots...
Sandi so good to see you hopefully all will be not overwhelming finding out the treatment for the heart... my kids keep telling me I need to go to the dr... which I do it's just been so long since I've been that I don't even know how to go about doing it I guess but first I need to call that group that Beth recommend for supplemental insurance then will find a way and means to go to the dr...
Sue your room looks quite nice a paint job always helps
Martha it's amazing that you were able to get away without the kitties following you... my plan this winter was to take up walking again while down in Q I wanted to get some walking sticks guess when it warms up and the snow is off the roads I'll get some and going walking need to do that so I can keep up with everyone while in AK
you all have a great day
