Good Morning!

Image

Need I say more. I’ve seen it much colder but we are under clear skies, so temp dropped pretty good. Some places in this area are -24, actual temp. . NWS will post later on, who had the official low temps around northern Michigan.

Turned out to be busy day yesterday. . Got the estimates from the fence installer, went with the one to keep existing fence, move the back line back 20 feet, tighten all fencing, add some posts and install two 5 foot gates. Will do it next week. Has a machine that can dig up frozen ground and we don’t have that much snow. Piper will love this, as now some of the trees behind the fence will be inside the fence, which makes any squirrels by them fair game  Right now they happily scamper around the yard out there and totally ignore her

Miss Dig will have lines marked by the 8th, so fencing operation is scheduled to take place the 9th, barring bad weather. Supposed to be in 30’s, and that’s nice for this time of year, especially if the sun is out. Then snowblower dealer called to say blower was ready, paid them with my charge card over phone. Then bit later another call from delivery driver to tell me he was on the way. After that it was off to vet with Mollly, followed by a trip to new Chinese restaurant for buffet take out. They did a soft opening on Monday, decided staff needed a bit more training as cooking Chinese is way different than American. So are offering buffet take outs this week to give them more time to learn the skills. Everybody's waiting for thrm to open next week, but in meantime we are doing the take outs, being guinea pigs per say
Neighbor texted and said she had a piece of blueberry pie for me, so went down a visited a bit, after we got home from town. Then had call from my Retina Specialists office. They had sent letters out and mine was returned. PO said address was incorrect. They had the correct address, PO screwed up  Wanted to let me know my doctor was retiring in April  He’s the one who is monitoring this loose implant. So will see who takes his patients over. There’s more than one doc in this office. Might be good to get a new perspective on things. Things are always changing.

Gotta head for the shower before gal gets here to measure bathroom for flooring. Have a nice dsy all. Stay safe those of you out east.

Woke up early again. Will tackle the kitchen and living room today and then pack. Will leave tomorrow around 9am so I get to Laguna Beach between 11 and noon. After meeting the lady, I will explore around the beaches/coves and maybe watch the sunset on the main beach.

Finished my gourd yesterday. Check it out on the Arts and Crafts page. I think I will bring it with me tomorrow and get a professional opinion on it. I know I made a few little mistakes with it but they are not real visible unless you look close. All part of the learning process.

Enjoy your day and stay warm!

I got up the courage and energy to replace my old splitter box with the new one. I labeled each wire with masking tape and then put a strip on the new box, making sure they matched. I had been worried that I would lose wires behind the small hole that this box fits into, but I was even able to pull them out a little. The hardest part was screwing all the connections back on. Kept forgetting which way to tighten them, and my fingers gor really tired. Behind this box, but on the side of a small platform at the foot of my overhead bunk and underneath the hanging TV, is another opening where the Satellite receiver sits, and then behind it is the DVD player. All fit into openings and the wires are all hidden. Just let it be said that under that 6" high platform is a horrible maze of curled up and not curled up wires!!

Here is a photo of splitter box just before I put it back. You can see all the wires back there from TV, satellite receiver, and DVD player. Nicely hidden, but not easy to reach.

As you can see from the wires in the rear, it was a challenge to stuff it all back in place. I ended up managing to push the satellite receiver back a bit so there was room to put my hand in the hole around the corner. The enabled me to pull the wires in from the back. Actually, there was no place for them, but I figured out I could slightly lift the satellite receiver and stuff the wires under it! That gave me enough room to put the splitter wires and box all back in and the wires under. It also gave some support to the receiver! Here is the finished job:

And, my bedroom TV no longer flickers! Whew.

Brrr Sue!! it's cold here but that's reallllly cold. Thankfully we didn't get as much ice as predicted but it is there under about 7 inches of snow. It is supposed to get down around zero tonight so will be sure to leave water running. I'm not sure if you just leave cold running or a combination. I hired a man to come and clear our driveway and shovel the sidewalk. The snowplow always makes a big pile in front of the drive or we could have probably got out. Emma is with the trainer so I only have Toby to send out into the cold. He was 9 months old when I got him so he refuses to use a piddle pad. I'm so glad Emma is with Nancy she gets really bored when she is here for very long. She is used to a lot of activity with several other dogs coming for lessons plus she loves 'work'.
I have a pot of beef stew cooking. I don't get inspired to cook that often but today I was inspired and I've felt better.
Judy I admire your determination!! That looks like a very difficult job! I hope you got your drain problem fixed.

Sue, that's too cold for me. It only got up to 39 and the sun never did come out. It has kind of misted off and on so a damp cold. The wind was coming through my coat so I got out one of Harolds jackets. I would have worn some gloves if I could have found some. It's suppose to freeze tonight and tomorrow night and then warm up some.

Judy, glad your TV works after all that. You look like me with all the labels. I labeled all the wires to my coach batteries because I didn't trust Auto Zone getting it right. The previous owners of my motorhome had replaced the antenna with something they thought was great. It's ok when it works. I finally figured out there was a fuse behind the TV that I have to remove and replace to make the over the air antenna work. I need to mention that the next time I have the Rv in the shop. I shouldn't have to do that.

I saw a recipe that called for ground beef and cold slaw. I like cooked cabbage so thought I would try it with some of the sausage I got for Christmas. About all I can say for the dish is I got rid of a pound of sausage. I don't know if it would have been better with the beef. I think it needed a larger bag of slaw.

Barbie, your gourd is pretty. I like the color.

Martha

I have had that splitter box sitting on my couch since New Years. I am always afraid to tackle that type of project because I am afraid I will mess it up and make it worse. It actually only took me about 45 minutes. I am guessing I saved about $100
That Camping World would have charged me. Glad job is done anyway!!

On the other hand Sue is a lot braver than I am. I blame my carpenter dad for never teaching me any building skills or even letting me do things on my own.

Judy, you are so right about Dads. I recently realized what an impact mine had on me because he said “I’ll show you how” instead of doing it for me. Guess that is why I need pictures. Lol I don’t handle challenges now as well as in the past so will try to remember this post.
