Sunday January 23

Morning All, sunny and above freezing, at least for today. Porch friend made it to daughters house in Virginia last evening. She said uneventful drive and no icy patches. Unpredictable weather makes traveling risky. Yesterday sorta through gazillion cds thinking I would donate some. Didn’t part with many. Todays fun task is to update my day planner. Redo names and addresses, discard notes and information no longer valid. I try to keep relevant information in one place. Well at least I can do this sitting down. I’m thinking out loud here so time to leave. Be safe

Just laying in bed waiting for it to be time to get up for work. I have a heating pad under my back.

Yesterday was another really busy day for me so my lower back and shoulders are sore. Hopefully, it won't be quite so busy today. I was told about a place that does reflexology, acupressure, and massage combined so am going to see if I can get in there tomorrow.

It is still very windy today but blue skies and mid 70's later.

Enjoy your day!

It's another rainy day to be followed by another rainy day, but Tuesday SUN! Yay. Lol Ty just crawled out from under the covers so we'll have to venture out soon. It seems to be light rain/drizzle at the moment so might be a good time.

Barbie, I'd love a massage. I hope it and the reflexology, etc help.

Time to pay my monthly rent today. On another note, my dentist in Mexico has my name, number etc in their computer but my file is missing. The poor guy is going crazy looking for it. No matter what they'll see me, but they don't like misplaced files. He called me yesterday and asked me for a couple days. I don't think he wants to tell the dentist!

It got down to 27 last night. Glad it didn't get to the predicted 23. It's up to 48 and sunny so feels good compared to yesterday. The cold weather makes my skin itch all over. I had to get up at 3:00 to put lotion on so I could quit scratching and sleep. I heard a noise under the house so checked the vents and found one out so the cats have been staying under the house. I put it back in after I fed so hope they are all out and there are no varmints. I need to find the roll of gorilla duck tape to keep the vent in.

Shirl, I have a 5 year calendar that I use to keep up with things. I have trouble keeping up with all the campouts with the different clubs. I hate that we have to make reservations so far in advance now. I liked when I could wait until the last minute. I need a new calendar that starts with 2023 but they aren't out yet. I am probably one of the few people still using Rolodexes. I have 4. Two came from work when I retired and I could probably donate them. One has nothing but passwords and usernames.

Yesterday I ate junk all day so took a steak out to cook for lunch. No other plans for today. My car says it's time for an oil change so have to make an appointment tomorrow. The town where I take my car for service has a restaurant that I get an order of fried crawfish to go. One day this week I want to pick up an order of boiled crawfish.

Beth, if you have rain that means I'll probably have rain tomorrow and Sarah will have rain on Tuesday. The weather channel says 100% chance of rain tomorrow. I wish we could get across the country as fast as the weather without flying. lol

The sun has been out until just awhile ago, a welcome site. It is 47 !! and only supposed to get down to 25 tonight. Much better than a low in the single digits or teens like we have been experiencing. I am so blessed with a good friend who likes to cook and also a next door neighbor. I haven't felt much like cooking lately plus I don 't like to cook so their gifts of food are so welcome. This weekend I've had oranges from Florida, a lovely hamburger casserole, bean/potato soup and today chocolate bread and a Polish sausage/bean/carrot soup. I have to blend every thing and make it drinkable as I can't chew, the orange made great juice, I just put all except the peel of course in my handy Nutri Bullet it looked like an orange shake up. I'll blend the chocolate bread with milk. I am doing better pain wise though which I attribute to the homeopathic medicine and B12 I'm taking. Emma is at a show in KY today, she gets to come home this evening and DH is sooo happy. Yesterday she got another 'leg; toward her third UDX she got second place, first place went to a Sheltie. The judges nearly always take note of her enthusiasm and her powerful happy jumps.
I told a friend of mine in AL that I had a new puppy and sent her a picture and a video. I mentioned she was going through a stage of getting into everything . Her reply was I should take her out for a run with my miniature poodle on leashes or ride a bicycle and run them beside me!! I haven't been on a bicycle in probably 50 years and doubt she has either, we are the same age and have known each other since 1st grade. Also if Miniature was that close to Pippa he would do her in immediately! Pippa gets enough exercise running down the hallway and through all the rooms except where Toby is shut in while she is out dashing around.
I just finished lunch and as soon as Pippa finishes hers I'm taking a nap. She eats a bite an runs around then dashes by her dish and grabs another bite. It takes her awhile!
I hope everyone is enjoying the day.

Bj, daughter sent me a video of her Yorkie. She sits on the couch, throws a glow in the dark ball down a dark hall, he retrieves the ball and they continue until he is tired. She can not wear him out with a walk. The latest video was her trying to brush his teeth as he annihilated the toothbrush. Makes my day.

Good morning (barely)!

Barbie, hope today is easier & you can get in that place for a massage.
BJ, sounds like Pippa is like having a very active toddler in the house. Sweet & fun to watch but can be exhausting.
Beth, hope the dentist office finds your records. I hate when I can't find something.
Martha, I'm good just knowing what day of the week it is & if I'm supposed to take care of or pick up one of the grands. Can't imagine dealing with a mutli-year planner.

Went with my DS & family up to Lake Arrowhead yesterday. I hadn't been up there yet so it was nice learning more about that area. The views overlooking the lower valley from the mountains are incredible. This is what he loves about living here. Go to the mountains to play in the snow one day (not much snow but the kids enjoyed what there was) & picnic on the beach the next. Pretty high winds on the roads - felt bad for the truckers.

Not doing much today - will walk down for groceries. I'm trying to make this a habit - just need to not buy too much stuff if I don't take my cart with me.

Stay warm & dry out there.
Take care,
Catherine

BJ, I'm sorry you are still having so much pain. I'll ask my sister about her face pain. They had told her that it could take 6 months to see a difference from the procedure she had. Sugar eats like Pippa sometimes. She takes one piece of food and takes it across the room, eats it and goes back for another piece. Since she eats so slow I have to watch that the cats don't eat her food.

I saw Laura's post on Facebook and they are probably going to the RVW Gathering in Quartzsite. That was going on this weekend.

The temperature is starting to fall so need to go walk Sugar before I have to wear a jacket and a coat.

Thank you Martha, I would like to know what procedure your sister had. Gamma or Cyber Knife sounds easier where they cut the trigeminal nerve with radiation rather than having a surgical process where they put a patch between where they see like a blood vessel touching the trigeminal nerve they call that a MVD.

been a busy day ... went to church came home and studied scriptures took nap was woke up with the phone ringing and it was my youngest doing a video chat ... she wanted to show me what the mud room was looking like... got to see the youngest grandson.. he is so cute... but they are going to have a problem getting the binky away from him... his mom removed it so he could have some cereal and he promptly put it back in and then would pull it out when he put a piece of cereal in his mouth... I don't think he is going to give it up easily   guess she is going to go to part time.... actually quite the end of Dec.. they wanted to keep her so offered her part time with a raise... she doesn't know yet what that raise is but she is pretty sure the part time will work for her she can take daughter to school before work and pick her up after work without having to hurry during lunch...
after call had a few moments so I started a new book it is promising
then it was time to start supper my two daughters and a son in law were coming over for soup made taco soup and corn bread and deviled eggs lol quite the addition to it... had my daughter finish up the deviled eggs now I'm a mayo person my mom is a miracle whip person dd was going to get mayo out when it was strongly suggested that miracle whip was the right ingredient now my son in law loves!!!! deviled eggs he ate 2 perhaps :? that is cooked 8 eggs I think we still have perhaps 8 halves left over  hope mom enjoys them lol
then the kids came and we had cake and dip... when they left they gave hugs my granddaughter doesn't hug not in her interest to hug... know that accept it but I actually got a hug!!!! :o a good one at that not the possible shoulder hug it was so nice...
then the kids and I who are going on the cruise had a zoom meeting to sorta talk about how to get to Seattle ect what excursions to take but it was close to when chat was going to start and mom was having issues so was having to take care of her so I missed out on stuff think the train is out as much to expensive
know that we are flying to Seattle on the day before... other than that I know nothing they did mute me I came into the living room guess the tv was too loud when I got mom settled in the other room I came in and turned it down I think I'd rather do it on the computer instead of the phone... easier for me that is...
Barbie that cake was so cute thank you
well going to say good night you all have a good day
have fun with the pups have you thought about getting a laser light let Pippa chase that light around? some think they are good other's not so Shadow didn't chase after it...
