No, I don't believe I'll be doing any shopping today. In fact, I intend another lazy day. Temps dropped here after the rain of yesterday so I'm only expecting a high in the upper 50's today. Back to 70's in a couple days. Laundry on today's agenda.

It was great seeing so many post yesterday.

Good morning Beth & all that check in!

The only shopping we'll be doing today will be in the grocery store getting ingredients for the appetizer for this evening's Happy Hour.

The temperatures today will be in the mid 70's but it will be quite chilly first thing tomorrow morning and the afternoon temperatures will only be in the high 60's. We had a great turnout yesterday for the Thanksgiving Day meal. Our calendar is quickly filling up for the month of December. Have a good Friday!

No shopping here either Beth. I just dont need anything. I am getting an Amazon delivery today but it is just practical stuff I ordered last week. No splurges.

Warmer this morning 46°with a high of 54 big whoop. I had a lazy day yesterday. Watched a couple of movies and read a bit in my book so today I need to get some stuff done. Nothing major just clean the bathrooms, change the bed, and run the vacuum and dust.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving no matter what or where you enjoyed. I was checking out Hulu movies and tv shows and found a few that I was interested in but wont be watching until this afternoon. Would like to hang my Christmas lights but the weather isnt really cooperating and my friend is coming tomorrow so that task will wait until next week.

Be careful out there, new Covid variant has been detected so we know how that goes. I have no real habits to change as I am already about as careful as I can be and still have a life. They are now worried about the Holiday get togethers and what kind of impact that will have. Maybe none....or minimal. We shall see.

Morning Beth and All, it’s 46° and will be high 40° and 50° for a few weeks. After the awful humid weather I welcome cold crisp air. My #1 daughter and son-in-law are amazing cooks and produced another delicious feast for the family. SIL always bakes his special apple pie for me which I enjoyed. I was hesitant to go to the dinner because it was a large crowd but I am running out of years. I saw a headline that said “I saved my parents from Covid so they could die from cancer”. I am 85 and have fought off cancer four times. I am not posting this to open a debate about the wisdom of this decision just my thoughts. I am a firm believer of quality of life not quantity. I was isolated from a loving and supportive family for year and yesterday was wonderful. No one knows what the future holds but we hope for the best. I pray we all have a healthy future. Be safe

P.s. Sue, where are you?

Good morning. A bit of snow bands blowing through here today with low 30’s. Shirl, I was also wondering where Sue is. I had a nice dinner with son and family last night. And brought home lots of leftovers so no problem what to eat this evening! No plans for any shopping or braving the crowds today or weekend. Once the students leave for their Christmas break the crowds will be so much more manageable if I decide to venture out! Still being super careful where I go. So today will just be doing chores around the house. The leaves are blowing and will just do their thing while I watch from inside! The wind I blowing like crazy along with the snow so there it is! I’ll opt to stay inside and warm. So that’s about it for me today. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning, It is cold here!! I know this because Toby woke me at 4AM with an upset stomach and I took him outside on a leash so he wouldn’t eat grass. He seems fine now. I think he was stressed over being left alone for about 4 hours while we went to Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. I also had a stress reaction to the day!! There were 8 of us there and after not being around people for so long I was very anxious and missed my mask! I think re-entry into social situations is going to definitely be a learning experience for me! When we got home my sweet neighbor brought over enough food to last us for a week! While all the food I had was good, I didn’t find anything that tasted like the food I remember as being traditional Thanksgiving. I guess food like technology changes!

Shirlv I was talking to a friend this morning before I logged on here and we both agreed to the thought of quality of life not quantity. Things are so nuts now with the possibility of a new variant one just has to pick there position and be as careful as possible within our comfort zone.

Quiet here in northern California . Temps in 60's daytime and drought continues with no rain in sight. My son had a high fever yesterday afternoon ( as he seems to do several times a year, which Dr cant explain) . So I halted dinner plans and postponed until probably tonight or tomorrow. Easy to do with simple dinner. I did air fry the shrimp I had thawed as read online that if shrimp sit too long in marinade, they get mushy. That was my thanksgiving dinner, about 2 dozen medium shrimp. I'm thankful he is better today with normal temp and got up and showered and said he feels almost normal. My back flare is slowly getting better, but I still use ice a few times a day and wear a brace support when up more than bathroom and back. It helps. Chiropractor was able to move it better Wednesday which helped healing. He said back was pretty badly inflamed. That's all here. I'll be checking some sales, but only online. Sean is supposed to be here sometime to work on various projects inside and outside. A sign of my back improvement is my over 6000 steps here in the house yesterday as I was preparing for a larger than normal dinner, until Chris got sick, then caring for him. At worst of my back flare up, I was lucky to get 2000 steps in.

No shopping for me today, either. I was going to go for a beach walk, but the weather has been weirdly cold. High today was supposed to be 70, but that occurred last night at 1 am, and started to drop immediately, so it is only 63 right now. It rained a bit at 2 am, so I imagine a front of some sort passed through. Anyway, i am very lazy so just decided not to go out for even a walk.

I've been trying to straighten out some of the errors I made in my family tree research for the part of England I am planning to go to. For example, I had one 4th great grandfather married to two women at once, and another who had a child after she was dead! Deleted the extra ones. I have learned you really, really have to be careful about assuming other people have their family trees correct so you do not copy wrong information!! And this branch of the family were almost all from a tiny town in North Yorkshire that even today has only a pub/hotel and a tiny coffee shop with four tables. No other stores or businesses, but there is a street with the family name, and I found some of the residences my 19th and 18th Century relatives lived at, which to me is amazing. Luckily, marriage records and even a few baptismal records identify people by listing the name of the place they lived. (They must have been confused also.) For example, my 2nd g-grandfather lived at Church House, which is now a B&B. Another gg-grandparent was identified as being from Kadeland House, which is the name of a farm. (No real addresses in those days.) BIG, big problem is the habit of naming children after grandparents or siblings, so I have 4th, 5th, and 6th great-grandparents named Thomas Easton, plus a few great-great uncles with that same name!! I was going nuts trying to keep them straight until I added residences. Most of them were farmers or "husbandmen" which means they tended animals. A big help has been a book published for that tiny church listing baptisms, marriages, and deaths from 1585 to 1812. When I go there, I want to spend a day or two taking photos of markers in the churchyard, so I want to have the dates and names right.

Going to do some reading today also. Got so many books I have not yet read! I need to stop buying books until I read the ones i have.

Hope everyone has a peaceful and quiet Black Friday!

No argument from me, Shirl. I agree with you on all points.

Shirl we all have a different comfort level as to what we will and wont do or go. It sounds like you had a great time so no judgement here. I am vaccinated and keep my bubble fairly small, but I am not crazed about it like some people. I wear my mask when shopping, I sanitize, I dont go to large gatherings, got my vaccine and booster so if I do get it most likely I wont die. Nothing is for sure but I am embracing that idea ha ha Sorry I dont have any gift suggestions for you. I usually buy myself something I really would like for Christmas but sad to say this year I cannot find anything that excites me. YAY

Good evening gals!

Yesterday I never got around to cooking the turkey breast so I cooked it tonight in the toaster oven (didn't fit in the air fryer). Well, it sure doesn't taste like turkey or smell like turkey. It tastes more like ham. It is covered in a spicy rub as well. Don't care for that. I did organize my pony beads into the different colors. Some of the beads I got are really cheap so I left those out. Now I need to cut the cords into the right lengths and start making a bunch of them.

Today I went into work for a half day. Went straight home. Didn't want to deal with the crazy crowds in the stores. Looked on-line for a few things. Our work Christmas Secret Santa is very messed up. We drew names, then people left, new people started, etc. So we were gonna start over with a new name drawing. Now the (previous) owner's wife wants to just stick with what names we had to begin with, and not include the new people. Well that isn't going over well with some of us. That isn't very welcoming to not include them. So I don't really know what is gonna happen. Maybe we should just skip the Secret Santa and just stick with the White Elephant exchange. The name I got is the previous owner's wife. She is from Taiwan and is going to veterinary school. That is all I know about her. She hasn't filled out the sheet we all got, about her likes and dislikes, hobbies, etc., so I know nothing else about her. I got a bad impression of her a few weeks ago. She came in with their dog, Minnie, a doberman mix. He stays in the front office the whole time they are there. One day, after a few hours I noticed his water bowl was dry. So I picked it up to fill it. She walks in, sees the bowl in my hand, grabs it out of my hand and puts it on the desk and walks back out. Never said a word but obviously wasn't happy about me wanting to fill it. They never seem to give the dog water while they are there. I don't understand that. Now I just sneak some to the dog when she is busy. I guess she hasn't had the class yet on why animals need access to water at all times. So needless to say, I am not very excited about having to shop for her.

I need to get stuff done this weekend but so far am not feeling too enthused. Will see how I feel in the morning. Weather is nice, 80* and sunny and no wind today. I had the windows open overnight and it was 61* in here when I woke up! Brrr! It was actually warmer outside by then since the sun was already up and warming things up out there. Found Spooky and the Gray kitty sleeping on a blanket on my deck when I was leaving for work.

I think I will just read tonight and get to bed early.

Barbie, I'm with you, it wouldn't be very nice not to include everyone in the gift exchange. I wonder what kind of vet that woman will be. My vet told me the reason the male cats get urinary infections is because they don't drink enough. I had a couple of places outside with water. After he told me that I added 4 more. Everyday when I feed I fill up the water bowls. I don't want them to have any excuse to not drink.

I went to Lafayette to bring my son leftovers from yesterday. I didn't want to be eating Thanksgiving food for a week. I needed gas and had the bright idea of going to Sam's. The traffic was bad and there was a traffic jam in the gas station. People have no patience. Gas was 34 cents cheaper at Sam's but not sure it was worth the effort. The news is showing the line of people waiting to get in Target. No my favorite place to shop.

I saw an ad on Facebook for a garden kneeler and bench. I have been thinking about ordering one so looked them up on Amazon and ordered one. I won't order anything from a Facebook ad. It folds up so I can put it in the motorhome. Hope it helps me get up.

I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. Today felt like a Monday because it's usually on Sunday that I do a lot of cooking.

Martha I have one of those and it is awesome. I can sit on it or turn it over and kneel on it with the side rails to help me get back up lol I use it inside and outside. This is the one I got

I've been considering one of these for a long time. I now have a $25 or so dollar one in my Amazon cart but will hold off until it'll go on next months credit card statement. I'm wanting it mainly for kneeling hooking up the sewer and digging around the lower outside storage compartments in the RV. Mainly to help me get back up. Ah the work arounds for what age does to us!

Karen, that looks like the one I ordered. I have to get on my knees to check the air in the tires and then have a hard time getting back up. It will be nice to have something to sit on too. I will just have to remember to put it back in the motorhome if I take it out. I have a couple of the foam garden pads to kneel on but they don't help me get up. The last time I was putting air in the tires my neighbor wanted to help me. He's older than I am. I could just see both of us on the ground.
