It’s Tuesday!

Afternoon all. We actually had snow cover the road and sidewalks during the night but it quickly melted with the morning sunshine. It’s cloudy, windy and cold now. Yesterday turned out nothing like I had planned. Figured I’d get the downstairs vacuumed and dusted but discovered a mouse in the trap by my garbage can in the kitchen. If that wasn’t enough I found traces of mouse under the kitchen sink so pulled everything out and scrubbed everything down and of course had to rearrange it all. Had a bright idea to put scrubbing pads and whatnot in ziplocks and hang them from cup hooks to save space and be able to know what I had. Looked for extra cup hooks which led to clear out of the junk drawer but never found them. Decided about 3 to run to the hardware store and pick up some but had a cable truck blocking my driveway again. And cable laid out all over the place so figured they probably wouldn’t be long but turned out not to leave until about 5:45! Would have been nice if I had had some warning. And crazy thing was that at midnight I saw 3 trucks and my driveway blocked again! I saw the last one leave about 5 this morning and finally unblock my driveway. Okay, done venting! But at least my kitchen cabinet and drawer are more organized! Today I need to do the cleaning I didn’t get to yesterday. Sounding like tomorrow may be a good day to get outside and chase leaves again! And since I’m not going to dinner until late afternoon on Thursday maybe get out again earlier in the day. Supposed to hit 50 with sunshine that day before it falls apart at night into Friday and Saturday. I put a small pork roast in the crockpot earlier so hope it turns out good. It’s still more then I can eat so will probably freeze slices for later. So that’s what’s happening in my little world. I’m trying to avoid crowds of people and masking when I do go into a store since numbers are going up here too. Stay warm and safe and guess for you southern gals it should be stay cool!

Sharon, you want me to send you a couple of cats. lol I was outside a few minutes ago and there is a big dead rat in the yard. I should have thrown it over the fence before Sugar finds it. I got a better look at the new cat and it's the neighbor's cat that I got neutered a few years ago. He hasn't been around for a while. I bought a couple of wire shelves to put under the sink but that would require that I unload all that's under there. Haven't gotten that ambitious yet. The pork loin that I cooked in the slow cooker the other day turned out really good. It was only 2 pounds so I don't have a lot of leftovers.

The noon weather says that we will have a storm coming through on Thursday. Another good reason to stay home. The guy that has the cows here planted some rye grass and he would like some rain.

My Meetup Meal is tonight so I gave Mr. P his medicine early so I can leave when I get ready. He and I are really getting tired of his medicine. I would turn him loose if I could catch him. He is suppose to be on a prescription diet and I doubt I could get him to go in the cage on his own. The other cats would be happy to eat his food.

We are going to a Mexican restaurant tonight. It's not often that I get to eat at a Mexican restaurant. I guess I could go to one every day but I don't like to go to restaurants by myself. I think about ordering something to go but never do. I saw an ad for something new at Taco Bell that looked good. Their food is usually a sad version of Mexican food.

I've arrived at my destination for the next few months. And have met to many people. I already called one man by the wrong name. I've met two Kens and am told there are two more. I asked if I could just call all men Ken lol. Ken #1 is part of the manager couple. I intend to render their names but won't guarantee it. His wife is Marie. That's as far as I go with names lol. Marie have me the name of a walk in clinic she uses about 10 miles from here. I'll go tomorrow to check my leg.

I was planning to get out of the Thanksgiving potluck but everyone has mentioned it to me. I wish I could ask if they are all vaccinated without alienating anyone. I'm still figuring out what I can make that will serve enough. Maybe two smaller sides. I'm not going to a grocery store tomorrow!

Martha, I agree about Taco Bell, but it's one of the few fast food places I can stomach. I also agree that I can eat Mexican daily. Especially good Mexican.

Sorry about the mice Sharon. Maybe it's time to get a cat. But it might be too far for Martha to send lol

Kind of chilly here today. 56 sun, clouds, and rain today. No wind tho so that is good. Finished up loading the car last night with the last of the donations for now. Took it over this morning. Then sent an Amazon return back to the UPS store. I love that I dont have to wrap or box it, just take it in, they scan the code on my phone and BAM I am done. I received the title to my Motorhome yesterday so I did ask at the UPS store how much to send it to Tennessee 2nd day air..$40 Well that wasn't going to happen. So went to the post office in the small town north of me (The one here in town is crazy busy always) and had a nice young gentlemen fix me right up for $8.70 and it will get there Saturday. Decided that was soon enough. I was the only one in the post office LOL Then since I needed gas I stopped at Costco and I have never seen that parking lot so full and cars everywhere. Gas station only had about 4 cars and it is the cheapest in town so I was in and out quickly. Glad I didnt need anything at Costco because there was no way I was going inside.

Came home and fixed some homemade french fries in the air fryer....yum. Had a couple pieces of beer battered cod so had a nice lunch. I threw some pork ribs in the crockpot this morning and just shredded the meat and added some BBQ sauce for pulled pork sandwiches. I am not going anywhere for Thanksgiving but I do have a friend coming up on Saturday and will leave on Monday so we should have a good visit. Well I think I am done for the day, time for a Mocha and put my feet up.

Good evening gals!

I love Taco Bell! I always get 2 taco supremes (with tomatoes and sour cream) and a pack of Cinnabon Delights!

Karen, I need to get up there and have you cook for me! I love BBQ pulled pork sandwiches! Hard to find good ones out here.

Beth, what are you going to do where you are parked now? Just relax or go adventuring around the area? What is in that area to see and do? Have you been there before?

Quieter day at work (two people out with the flu) but a little crazy anyways. They have a new machine that they brought in yesterday that fills the paper tubes about 3/4 of the way with pot and then we fill the rest by hand and close the ends. We can make a lot more that way, each day. I was shown how to use the machine this morning by the old owner. He talks really fast so was a little hard to follow all the different things needed to be done with it. He said that if I need help, that the manager knows how to do it. Later after he left, I saw the manager using it so decided to watch her. Well, she knew as much as I did! We worked on it together and it reminded me of a I Love Lucy episode! There were tubes flying everywhere, and pot flying everywhere! We were trying to remember what order to do things and were doing it all wrong!  No harm done but a big mess!! We were laughing so hard which didn't help any! It was a comedy of errors but we finally got it done. :D

The gal that started yesterday, quit today. She lives in LA and decided it was too far to go each day. Well, yeah! It is almost 2 hours from here to LA with the traffic! A guy was interviewed this morning and they offered him the job so he (hopefully) starts tomorrow. Another applicant didn't show for their interview later in the day. The new owners want 4 more workers. One of the ladies who has worked for the company for over a year, took over 2 months off this summer to go to Canada to see her boyfriend (was originally supposed to be for a week). She just came back a couple weeks ago and now she has already missed about 6 days of work for various reasons. I am sure the new owner won't tolerate that and will fire her soon. We are trying to get the Secret Santa name drawing figured out but with people coming and going every day, it is hard to know who will be here by Christmas and who won't!

Stopped at WM Great Clips and had my former manager trim my neck line in back. I am going to try once again to grow my hair out... Just need the sides to catch up to the back before I let the back start growing longer. Picked up a few things I needed there and headed home. I wanted to get some Hawaiian rolls but they only had the 12 pack. I just wanted the 4 pack. I would never eat a dozen of those before they get stale. I guess they figure no one will want just 4 for Thanksgiving. I did pick up an apple pie and some ice cream for my turkey day dessert.

Tired tonight but I used my heating pad at work for my back and it helped a lot, so no pain tonight. Need to eat something and get ready for bed soon.

Have a good night!

Barbie, I stayed here a month about 5 years ago. Lots to do in south Texas. Great birding and I hope to do some of that. Lots of wildlife refuges, so there's more days. Great weather. And I'll go into Mexico to my dentist where, hopefully, he won't find too much needing to be done!

talk about spelling I am the worst at it... I used to ask Larry how to spell a word and he'd tell me to look it up sure I would if I could spell it well enough to do so  so glad spell check has come out but then there are times I still can't get it right enough for it to recognize what word I'm thinking of... I also think that some times I don't pronounce the word well enough to get close to the right spelling out...
tomorrow I plan on making the rolls as we are suppose to eat around 1 on Thurs..so we will either reheat or have cold rolls, going to make an apple pie, and the cranberry sauce hopefully it will be good as I think I am going to combine 3 recipes... why not if it doesn't taste good won't do that again  I think it will work out though... and on Thursday will make the veggie made it last year was quite good so am going to try it again it's a roasted Carrot with dates and pistachio's google it really good
so that is my job oh yes might need to find a veggie tray but eldest I think will try to find it...
think everyone has gone to bed...
I agree Barbie think going to Karen's would be a good thing...
It was on the agenda for this winter to go into MX for dental stuff and now not sure if I will make it down...if I do hopefully it will be for long enough that I can get whatever needs done as a lot I'm sure does
well I think I will say good night and go play a couple of games am actually listening to Pandora right now..
you all have a great day
