Good Morning from the 45th. 33 and lightly snowing this morning. Warm and snug in the house. Good day for working on my next wood cutout for Christmas. It’s cut out, primed, full pattern traced on it and ready for painting. Paint by number anyone? Actually the pattern tells me what colors to paint where. Don’t have to use the colors suggested, can use your own colors if you want, which is what I do sometimes, if I have similar ones in my supply.
So that will be my project for the day and when I need a break, will go sand the ornament cutouts I did yesterday. Have two more to cut out yet. Right now they are just rough cutouts.
I do the painting on my kitchen table as I have both good lighting and natural light to work with. Plus I can look out and watch it snow or rain or whatever. Gets boring in the basement.
Barbie, glad you got to meet up with Linda. Sounds like you had a fun time.
So off to brush. Y teeth and get started. Have a nice day and stay safe.

Morning All, sunny and 45°. Cold weather has arrived on the island and for the first time I am glad to see it. Have traded outdoor plants for houseplants. Will bring little wrought iron bistro table inside to set up a garden. Took a 2 hour nap yesterday and really slept in this morning. The booster shot at work. Have had good luck with Walmart grocery pickup until yesterday. Received an email from Walmart that they had delivered turkey broth to my daughters old address, her name but charged to my credit card, $1.88. I didn’t order and she has never ordered groceries. Contacted Walmart by online chat and was told to contact my bank to cancel my credit card. I did, which is a pain. Bank said companies give this advice so they don’t have to locate the problem. Now I hesitate to order pickup again. Will watch the mail and hope USPS gets new card to me before Thanksgiving.
Be safe

Sue you are pretty darned talented. I didn't realize we had so many really talented people on here. I just don't happen to be one of them LOL Worked outside yesterday, we hit 70° had to change into a t shirt. Cut my hydrangeas back, put up my other flood light, and again no smoke LOL, Then rearranged my shop as I got a couple large rubber mats to put down on the cement as the cement floor is always damp when it rains. So put those down then put the tubs on top, should work out well. Today I am going to put my outdoor planter together so I can plant my bulbs I just got. I should have enough dirt to fill it. Also have several bags of compost and manure to mix in with it.
I need to do a few housekeeping chores but the rain is coming so that will keep until later in the week. Want to wipe down my blinds before they get too dirty as they are much harder to get clean easily the longer I let it go.
Making quiche for dinner. Will take some over to my neighbor as she loves it. Will be a sausage, cheese, mushroom, and spinach quiche. Throwing a load in the washer and need to get a shower, so I hope everyone has a great day.

Today, I moved 20 miles west down the beach to Henderson State Park. On my way, I stopped at Publix to try to get turkey thighs, but all they had were legs, wings, and breasts. Where are all these turkeys who are missing thighs?? Anyway, I picked up a few groceries and got a package of two legs because I really wanted turkey. Cooked them for dinner and all is now eaten and cleaned up. Have enough turkey for a second meal tomorrow. Yum!
I also started to make banana nut bread and realized I was almost out of flour--had enough to make just a small loaf, but it was very good. I like it as a snack or for breakfast. Luckily, this campground is directly across the highway from a Walmart, so I will stop there either tomorrow or Tuesday via bike. I have not yet seen the beach, but tomorrow I have a lot of phone calls to make. On Friday, I called around near my son's house and found two good places to leave my motorhome while I am in the UK next spring. Tomorrow, I need to make several calls about my aunt's care and to check a couple of bills that we received but do not make sense. Also need to figure out why my last estimated tax payment was refused. Maybe i put in wrong bank number??
So, much to do, even if i am not working any more! Not much on TV, so I am watching Beauty and the Beast. Earlier, I watched part of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie. I saw the musical in London in 2003, and really enjoyed it there. Also, saw the original Mary Poppins last night. Amazing dancing by Dick Van Dyke and the rest of the chimney sweeps!! Did you know he is 95 and still does a little dancing??
Sue, love your art, but please remember to take photos when it is all done and hung outdoors. I am sure we all want to see it.

I had a fun day! Connie and I left at 8am and got up to Oak Glen in an hour. Beautiful view of the LA area and very pretty area but you can see the hillsides where the Apple fire went thru last year. Luckily it missed most of the homes and apple farms. Only one farm was burned down. But the trees were turned yellow and very pretty! Smelled like fall! We had breakfast in the "village" and then walked around the little shops there. Lots of signs in the trees with positive quotes and messages. We drove to two different apple farms. I didn't get any apples but got a small loaf of strawberry banana bread which is really good!
The traffic wasn't bad at all there, even after noon. It got busy but we could always find a place to park close to the buildings, etc. The weather was perfect, low 70's. Got home at 3pm. The traffic heading west on the freeway toward LA was almost at a standstill. It was the weekend crowd coming back from the east deserts and Colorado River. Tons of RV's towing cargo trailers, toy haulers, trailers with 4 wheelers and dirt bikes, and a lot of large horse trailers!
Tired tonight. Just watched the original Grinch movie. My favorite Christmas show! Love the message!

I got home from the campout this afternoon. The campground is only 65 miles away but it took me almost 2 hours to come home. I have to go through 4 towns so that slows me down. I don't remember how long it took me to go because I got caught in a traffic jam by I-10. There was an accident and traffic was being routed off one exit and all the trucks were trying to make it to the next exit to get back on the interstate. We were barely moving. That's when I miss having a CB. If I had know that was going on I could have gone another way.
We didn't do much but had a good time. The campground was full and it's pretty big. There is a big barn where they have a band on Saturday nights. A lot of people go for the music. Friday night there was a wedding in the barn. I didn't go to see the band and dance. It is just too loud for me. It was pretty cool at night and we had a fire going at one of the campsites. I'm glad I took my heavy coat but now I have to wash it because it smells like smoke.
Judy, your two weeks at the campground seems to go fast and my time seems to drag. I haven't been able to find any turkey thighs either. One of the stores always has turkey necks, wings and legs. What do they do with the thighs? My ex-sister-in-law invited me for Thanksgiving but doubt I will go. She lives about 100 miles from me and they end up eating late. I'm not going to spend the night or drive home in the dark. I still haven't found out what my son's plans are. I have friends camping for the week of Thanksgiving. I'm thinking about going but need to see if my neighbors are going to be home to feed for me.
Sue, your decorations are going to be cute. I bought a snoopy blow up decoration after Christmas a couple of years ago and don't know what I did with it. It would probably freak the cats out anyway.

A ginko biloba tree in it's fall glory!
Sorry this is not in focus but it shows the view of the city of LA way off in the distance.
Oak Tree Mountain
Umbrellas used instead of a pergola. Also some of the positive signs that were posted all over the trees in the "village"
more signs in the trees...
