Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Thursday

Karen, I can't imagine the feelings you must have had when you learned about that fire. I'm so glad it was quickly contained.

I'm still in Hatch. I'll leave tomorrow.

Afternoon All, cool and sunny. I managed to bag up and freeze 8 meals I have cooked. Like to cook and eat but hate the bagging up chore. Will make a couple batches of soup and then coast awhile. Lol. Addressed and mailed the great grands Halloween cards today. I no longer know how long it takes mail to be delivered. I was known for cards being delivered on the exact day and now I no longer care. Many years ago I heard fire sirens, looked out the upstairs window and saw flames shooting out of a house in the neighborhood. Didn’t know who owned the house but I burst into tears. It is such a horrible sight. Karen, I can only imagine how terrifying the news must have been for you. Beth, if you don’t mind I will just ride along with you. :) Carol and Bill have certainly had their challenges this year. Will be glad when they are safely settled in their campground. Just had an awful thought. I was so busy putting food in the freezer I forgot to leave something for dinner. Guess breakfast for dinner, always easy. Be safe

Fire really scares me. We set our grandmother's house on fire burning Christmas paper when we were kids. That left a lasting impression. Thank goodness my dad knew what to do. Any time I smell smoke I am outside trying to find where it's coming from. They are forever burning fields and the marsh around here. They put houses so close together in the mobil home parks I'm surprised that more don't burn when one catches fire. When we traveled a lot I never wanted to stay above the second floor in a hotel.

Our regular mail lady just passed. I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks. I'm glad she's back, I'm tired of getting my neighbor's catalogs. I haven't noticed that the mail has slowed down much. I guess it will get worse the closer to Christmas we gets.

I bought a T-bone steak that was on sale yesterday and had half of it for lunch. I should know better than to buy T-bones that are on sale. My teeth got a good workout.

I don't think I'm going to have a full dose of one of the medicines for Mr. P tomorrow. I am suppose to give it to him for 10 days. The vet is usually off on Thursdays so I'll just go tomorrow and see if they want to give me more. I don't think I need to give him any more appetite stimulant, he is licking the bowl clean now.

It is really windy today. The weather man said we were having gusts up to 40 mph and I believe it. The temperature is 74 but feels colder because of the wind.

Good afternoon!

Thinking of Sandi and her ordeal today. Karen, oh my, that would make your heart beat faster! Glad it wasn't any worse. When I was in high school, Mother and I were watching TV and I went to the kitchen to get us some ice cream. Looked out to see neighbors' house on fire! They had children plus foster children and were adding a new addition which was damaged. Story was one son decided to dispose of his cigarette butt into an unfinished wall. Sheila, you just ramble all you want! I've started looking for your post late at night to see what's up.

We are getting plenty of rain and snow in the mountains is beautiful. Monica and I went to Costco yesterday. Because we were both on the lapsed membership, they gave me a card as well. I can go back without having to drag her through the place. Just spent some time online and looks like they don't carry many things I need.

Kids had me over for dinner and football Monday night. Alan and I do well at yelling at the TV. My Tiffany floor lamp finally arrived! It isn't as bright as I would like, but it is like sitting in a room with a lit Christmas tree - mood lighting. :)

Shirl, I lost my post when I discovered what the x next to edit means! And I didn’t pay close enough attention to what I was doing so lost it. That’s what I get for trying to do 2 things at a time! Lesson to myself. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow! And keep my finger away from the x! But at least now I know what it’s there for!! Have a great evening all

A hot one today! 94* Low humidity so is tolerable but now have my AC on. Was 92* inside the house when I got home.

Was busy at work making and putting filters in the paper tubes until noon. I did 700! Unfortunately, the owner came in and told us that those paper tubes are no good (bad quality paper) so they have to be thrown out. So we spent the rest of the day removing all the filters, and the pot from the ones that already got stuffed. 3 days of work all undone. What a waste of time. Miscommunication somewhere along the line. The filters and pot can be used again in new paper tubes at least. Luckily, I will still get paid commission on the filters I worked on this morning.

I put out the trap for the kittens tonight at my neighbors place. I didn't set it tho. Just put in food for them to get used to going in there for yummy stinky canned food. :) Then tomorrow I will set the trap and see what I can catch before 8:30pm. I have to deliver the trap with cat/kitten by 9:30pm and it is all the way in Palm Springs which is almost an hour drive from here.

I have been having some intestinal issues the past several days. Just a bloated, gassy, burpy, crampy feeling, especially after I eat. Not very comfortable. I think I will try a more bland diet for a few days and see if that helps.

Sandi, I hope things had a decent outcome for you today.

I stopped at WM after work to pick up some Halloween mini cupcakes to bring to work tomorrow for the crew. They love snacks as much as I do!

I think I will finish the pedicure tonight that I started last night. Then watch a little TV before getting to bed earlier tonight. Got to bed a little late last night and finally rolled out of bed at 6:20 this morning. I have to leave for work by 6:25 in order to get there by 7am. I was cutting it close! Had an energy drink on the way to keep mebfrom being too sleepy to drive! Luckily, with this job, I don't have to do anything with my hair (I wear a hat) or put on makeup. Just throw on some comfy clothes, sandals, brush my teeth, grab my lunch and my purse and run out the door!

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Finally got home from the court hearing. As usual, things didn’t go well. So troubling to be sitting just a few feet from the person who murdered your child.

There was no decision. The problem is new laws that have been passed in the last few years that change how the defendant should be treated in this case. I just don’t understand why they don’t use the laws in effect at the time he murdered my son in 1995 and/or at the time of the trial in 1998. So after long discussions between the district attorney, the defense attorney and the judge, the judge decided he needed more time to decide how to proceed. So it’s been put off until November 8 when we will have to go back and I have no idea what will happen then. It looks pretty bad as to whether we will be able to keep this individual in prison. There’s a good chance he could be released almost immediately on November 8 no matter what we say. It will all depend on the judge’s interpretation of the new laws with regard to this case. The DA is very good, but there’s only so much he can do.

Thank you all for remembering. I can’t express how much help and encouragement it gives. THANK YOU!

Hugs, Sandi. I can't come close to imagining those feelings, but do know how painful it must be. I'm sorry it's going to happen again in just a couple weeks.

My car is attached, just need to put away toiletries and minor stuff to leave. No hurry really as I'm only going a couple hours.

that truly doesn't make sense as you often hear that a person is arrested for a crime and charged as it would be at the time of the crime... like an adult will be charged as if he was a juvy ... sounds like they want it both ways... sorry that you have to go through this yet again so soon
not much to ramble on about Anita... it was pretty much a nothing day..... other than I wish I was down south as it's getting cold here... going to go with dd on Sat and horrors of horrors get shoes.... I wear either flip flops or sandal's all the time or at least when I have foot wear on  so saw someone say that they got some sketcher's that are slip on at Costco so going to see if they come in my size... looked for levis there one time but they don't come in my size short (which is way too long) 20 Gloria Vanderbilt's but wondering if they are on line might have to have dd's check and see I think at least 3 perhaps 4 belong to Costco... as to when we should have made a decision like weeks ago but we still haven't ... mom wasn't in as bad of pain today and they had her sitting up and she didn't seem to be complaining about it which is a plus and she did seem to be eating better... she actually ordered lunch for herself or told the nurse what she wanted to that meant that she looked at one of the menu's and one of the CNA mentioned the soup she got mom said I wish I'd gotten that so we did get it for her for supper...
didn't hear back what the results of the MRI was ... hoped to see the dr but he didn't come in while I was there nor before... should have had mom call and tell me if he came in but didn't guess I will find out tomorrow...
I am thinking of suggesting to brother that he take mom I come up and help out till I need to go to SLC then unless they need me I will float around and visit with family for a bit then either depending upon if one person can take care of her have them bring her back down before their visit to SLC if it's best for her to stay up there then I will go back up... hopefully we can bring her back down so she can have her own Christmas... I'm sad in that I can't get to my ornaments due to the slides being in and the fear that they won't come back in if I take them out... love my nativity set but it is so tucked away.... one place I was going to call today was a rv place in Idaho Falls and see if we can just take it there have it hang out till they get to it and then have the slide situation looked into... if they do that as were sil is taking the trailer for the winter is south of Idaho Falls more mild there so hoping that it will be better...
since I haven't been in the trailer but a couple of times since May some of the routine things like checking the battery water hasn't been done which might be while the slides were reluctant to go out... that was going to be checked...
I really ought to call senior citizens and see if they have some of the recommended things like a commode and transfer bench till we decide what we will do about the tub.. I am for putting in a walk in but it can be expensive if we could just do our own work but guess the town frowns on that
well you all have a good day.
Beth drive safely if I could figure out how to keep my trailer safe out in the desert I'd have it go down and travel back and forth for my turn ... just don't know how to do it... they don't like to have you park the rv's out in the desert and then be gone for an extensive amount of time... that and running out of propane for the frig.. oh well we will see if Kerry was going to be there I would be ok but she won't get there until Jan..
