Good morning Everybody from sunny and cool CT. Happy, happy birthday to Lyn. You are the only person who could get me to go to a bar in Q to drink beer and watch football!! Have a wonderful surprise party today..
I’m going to the “Guitar Under the Stars” a classical guitar concert that happens every September, but not last year. It has grown from a little concert on a portable stage in a little park to a huge concert in Bushnell Park. It’s a free concert and I’m sure there will be many people picnicking, but the park is big and the sound system is excellent. Enjoy your day. Peggy

Good morning! It’s a bright sunny and cool day here today. I think it’s getting drier outside from the rain the other day so maybe I can get out in the yard today! Seems to nice to stay inside. I tried to start the main furnace last night but after it banging and clanking I shut it down and checked it only to find it is apparently filled with water. It’s a steam system so it has its quirks. So after messing with it and trying to empty some of the water I decided I need to call a professional. Left a message on his phone this morning. If it’s not one thing it’s another! But one good thing happened yesterday afternoon…. I called the pharmacy to see if they had gotten the hi dose flu shots in and they had so since it’s so close I arranged to run in and get it! From initial call to finish bout 20 minutes! So today I have a sore arm but nothing unusual about that! And decided I’d treat myself to Chinese food for dinner so didn’t have to cook last night! Sue, I think we may luck out and not get much of the rain you’ve been having. The forecast changes all the time so who knows! Rascal got a much needed haircut and bath yesterday. It took a lot longer then normal since she lets him rest when he needs it. He has a chiropractor appointment Monday afternoon so hoping that makes him feel better. He’s had a stressful week! I’ve been carrying a membership at the gym in State College and decided since I haven’t been able to use it I might as well drop it for now. Jut not a public place I feel comfortable being at right now. I can always join later if I decide I want to. I realized how much it was costing and not being utilized and although it’s not a lot I decided to save that bit of money every month! Been interesting reading about everyone’s gardening. I gave that up quite awhile ago! Just as easy for me to just go to one of the open markets and pick up what I want! Lazy, I know but just can’t get enthusiastic about gardening anymore. I need to grab something for lunch and go get something accomplished today. For sure not going anywhere since it’s a home game day, traffic is crazy and there are way to many extra people in town for my liking! Have a great day an enjoy your Saturday.

Morning Peggy, any day in a park is a good day. There is a beautiful park 10 minutes away that I will visit during the week when there is low humidity. Another cool day so will putter on the balcony. Ugly file cabinet still sitting in the bedroom and have decided I need to hid it in the walk-in closet. Need to do some major rearranging in the closet first. Some household chores and a rotisserie chicken carcass to cook for soup should keep me busy. Be safe

Good Morning, It is another lovely day here, 70's and low humidity! I spent yesterday afternoon at a nearby park by a lake with a couple of friends for a couple of hours. So nice to be out and visiting with friends face to face!
Sharon I hope your furnace is an easy fix! We have our furnace, a/c and dehumidifier checked spring and fall. They were here on Thursday and pronounced the dehumidifier was terminal. We were replacing the portable ones almost every year, plus they are at high risk of catching fire so we invested in a really good one in 2014, and of course the warranty has expired! I guess I should be grateful he found a replacement in stock and installed it that same day.

I had to call PayPal this morning as I couldn't log in to my husbands account. Turns out is an issue on their end and I have to wait 48 hours for their system to comple it's next update and then try again. It wasn't hard to get through but, I had a very hard time understanding the person I spoke with.

Peggy, sounds as though Lyn just wanted you to have fun!

My project for the unforeseeable future is leaning out my closets. I have way too many things I never wear plus a lot I doubt I will ever gain enough weight again for them to fit.

I think I may have a late morning nap! Between my new phone and dealing with PayPal my brain needs a rest.

Shirl, sounds as though you need to join me in a nap.

Woke up around 9am. Headed out to Desert Hot Springs to the UPS store to get the live scan done. Took the freeway there. It is a half hour drive north of here to there. On the way back I decided to take a back road which cuts thru the desert right along the edge of Joshua Tree NP. Have never been on that road before but discovered that there is a flat open desert area between a small group of mountains that are right behind my community, and the larger mountains of Joshua Tree NP. The road goes between the two. I know there are a lot of bad accidents (mostly late at night involving drinking teens), along there. :( Now I can see why. It is pretty much straight the whole way but lots of small ups and downs on the road so kind of like a mini roller coaster if you are going fast enough. :o There was a car with 3 teens killed along there about a few months ago. I saw the memorials on the side of the road as I drove by. So sad. :( I also think that back road runs right along the San Andreas fault.

Desert Hot Springs is generally a low-income, high drug and crime area. Lots of run-down or abandoned homes. Altho that area is also known for it's many natural hot springs and has quite a few resorts there that have their own springs/spas. Of course, it is also popular for cannabis production facilities and dispensaries.

Am having some pain in my left jaw this past week or so. I had a bad case of TMJ years ago and had it treated, so it was much better for a long time. I think between grinding my teeth more lately and also wearing a mask at work, is making it worse again. When I wear a mask at work (only when working directly with weed), I am looking down and my mask is slightly in my field of vision and I noticed I unconsciously hold my mouth open to help pull it down some so I can see better. I tried a smaller mask yesterday but I noticed I did the same thing. Not sure how to fix that but I need to figure something out because I can't open my mouth very far or chew today without pain.

Watching the last golf tournament of the season right now. It is the best of the US golfers competing against the European golfers. Then will get to some chores around here, trash, dishes, laundry, etc. I decided not to go to Oak Glen since I didn't want to use the extra gas (just paid $4.19/gln this morning! ) or spend more money there, especially after spending $62 for the live scan  . Apple season lasts until November so I have a whole 'nother 5 weeks to go.

It is much cooler today! Mid 80's only! :o However, it is much more humid so doesn't feel so cool. :( Was nice this morning especially with it being cloudy out but now it is sunny and stickier out.

Have a good rest of your day!

a somewhat busy day had nephew and his family in plus the two missionaries... so had to make something I've never tried
made Fajita's a little more liquid on it that I thought but then I didn't measure the lime juice would explain part of it... and I didn't check to see how much pepper's I needed so didn't have as much as I wanted however all was eaten we also had corn on the cob so good... and Mexican rice... oh refried beans just a case of open can toss in bowl and in Microwave... mom doesn't like them so when I was running out of time I asked if anyone wanted them mom said I don't and told her I didn't ask her as I know that she doesn't like beans other than green beans... most everyone wanted them so we did as I said..... and had just about one serving so sent them home with the rice with nephew again mom didn't have any and when I made the rice before she didn't seem to enjoy them so why keep them to only end up tossing them away?? I actually found the rice really good..
still haven't heard what the plans are... and I still haven't sent a text to my brothers... need to organize my thoughts...
I am tired tonight oh and I made the angel food cake the one of the recipe page...
you all have a great day

Headed the 88 miles south today for my HS class 55th reunion. Where does time go?! Had about 40 classmates of the original 356. Another 21 have died since 2016, our 50th! This may be our last reunion. Had a nice lunch and visit and took group photos in beautiful back yard of one of my classmates, who was in my kindergarten class, and his wife, whose Mom was my Moms best friend for about 30 years. So very relaxed and nice visit. Boy my hometown grows and gets busier every time I visit. Went by my house where I grew up. Appears my renters are taking good care of it. Met after the reunion with the family of a good friend of my parents. She has been gone a few years, but I visited with her youngest son ( my mom taught him in kndergarten ), his wife, one daughter and her son. So seeing 3 generations of Essie's family brought back so many memories. I'm tired. Drove home, arriving just before 8 pm. Saw no reason to get a hotel room as I had nothing's needed to do Sunday there, so booked it home.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
