Good morning Shirl and all who follow, We are getting light rain now, but heavier later. Indoor day.

Strange thing happened yesterday. My new I-phone is doing weird things. Two days ago it would stop working; completely, I couldn’t shut it off or swipe. A minute later, everything worked. Last night I was talking to a friend who was in the ER at a local hospital. Her last name begins with L and you’ll see why I told you that. She and I are in mid conversation when I get an incoming call from Carol Lamphere, Liz’s sister in law. Mind you Carol and I have never. Allen each other that I can remember, but she is in my contacts which were copied from my old phone. Anyway, Carol and I are both hesitantly saying hello, wondering why the call. She didn’t make the call. Apparently my phone called her phone!!! Totally strange.. After I finished talking to my friend in the ER ( she’s going to be okay) I texted Carol. For those of you who know her, she is fine and on her way to Colorado to visit her son. Not flying. Her grandson is driving her from FL to CO.
That’s my story. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning. We finally are seeing a bit of drying out after rain all day into this morning today. Temps really down too. Fall has arrived, I think! You east of me are probably going to get dumped on today! I actually see a bit of sun and really breezy. Now to just dry out! My driveway is a mess again with dead leave s and branches so need to get out there and start cleaning it up. But not until it dries out! Got a bunch of things done around the house yesterday and a bunch more today. Always something. I walked past the air unit in the landing a bunch of times yesterday but need to work up the strength to get it out! With the cooler days I won’t need it and sinceI haven’t used it in quite awhile it’s time to get it out! Karen, thanks for the soup recipe. It is an easy recipe. I need to try it! Easy is good! Nothing much else to add today so I’ll quit rambling and wish you all a good day!

Good Morning, We have sunshine but it is cool, warming up but was in the 40's when I got up at six.

Peggy that is weird about your phone calling Carol!! I bought the iPhone 12Pro but haven't had time to take it in to have my old phone information transferred over. I'll probably have to find a tutorial to learn how to turn it on!

It is so quite around here with only one dog during the day. I'm anxiously awaiting Sept. 29th which is the due date of the puppies I have my name on a list for to be born. I vacillate between being excited and wondering if I am crazy!

Sharon I hope you get things cleaned up and your A/C out without a problem, maybe you could get some help if it is as heavy as it sounds! Shirl hope the storm passes and it turns into a lovely day.

Afternoon all. Chilly, rainy and wi day here. Temp 45 degrees. Just got home from Chiropractor, grocery run and Had bowl of Clam Chowder for lunch. Pups want a potty walk, so will oblige in a few minutes. Lull in the rain at the moment.

For those on here with travel trailers, there is an industry wide Propane Regulator recall. I think it also applies to some MH’s as well.

Component Description : Propane Regulator with supply hoses. Model 6020.
: Certain Winntec model 6020 two stage propane regulators installed on the recreational vehicles may supply elevated, intermittent or low propane pressure to the appliances.

Description of the Safety Risk : An increase in propane pressure, could cause the flame of the appliance to become larger, and under certain rare circumstances, may ignite adjacentmaterials resulting in a fire. Appliances that can be effected by an excessive
flame are the stovetop, oven, hot water heater, furnace and refrigerator. Description of the Cause : Certain Winntec model 6020 two stage propane regulators, contain a secondstage valve seat that can fail to regulate propane flow and pressure in two different ways. First, the second stage valve seat in the regulator has an inadequate mechanical lock, resulting in seal migration. Once out of position, the valve seal will not properly regulate propane flow and pressure to the recreational vehicle appliances. Second, the rubber hoses (pigtails) that connect the onboard propane cylinders to the regulator release a plasticizer which is a liquid that collects in the body of the regulator. When in contact with the the plasticizer, the physical properties migrate out of position.
Irregular performance from the recreational vehicle appliances may be an indicator that the propane regulator is experiencing the safety defect. The smell of propane may be present at the regulator, which would indicate the regulator is venting at high pressure.

I think this is probably affecting newer model RV’s like Cheryl’s, rather than older ones.

You will need to make an appt. at a dealer to have it replaced. Units affected by this recall will have the Winntec Model #6020 LP Regulator removed and replaced with either a Fairview Model #GR994 or a YSN Imports Model #ACR2. Once the LP Regulator is replaced, Dealers will be required to perform industry standard LP System validation. Requirements include leak detection, timed pressure drop test and a regulator lockout test. This is at no cost to owners.

Just wanted to alert y’all. This recall is issued by the NHTSA.

So I will leave you with that news today and head out with the pups before more rain moves in. Then will put together my 2nd side table and get the two current ones out on Marketplace. Posted an ad for a 26 inch Brand new Sanyo LCD HGTV yesterday. Bought it to exchange the one in my trailer awhile back and never did. So will sell it instead. Need to transfer a few dollars to checking account to pay MasterCard bill and all that usual stuff. Like Karen, I’m exercising that card too a bit too

Well, I wish I was complaining of rain! It's 85° at 11 am and on way to mid 90° range. And no rain even predicted in next 10 days forecast.
I'm off to run PT through car wash and wax place. Then hope to get fuel at Costco. When I was there few days ago, no regular gas available. They are cheapest brand around so lines are often all the way to the main boulevard. Been that way for about a month. Kind of crazy, like I've not seen before in fueling there for at least a decade.
My high school 55th reunion, modified to be only a lunch Saturday, about 90 miles south of here in my hometown of Tracy starts at noon, so I'll head out Saturday morning. Not sure if I'll stay or return in evening, though I dislike night driving. It will be good to see my friends, some of whom I've known since kindergarten , which we began 68 years ago this month!
Have a good day everyone.

Not morning anymore, but I have a spare minute... little guy just went down for his nap. :D

Anita, I love your place. I moved out here with just a few basics & have totally filled up my condo - now I need to start getting rid of things. I'll regain 1/3 of my living room once I no longer take care of my grandson - but will have to figure out where to put all the toys for when they come to visit.

Karen, when your Spectrum bill goes up, you might look into their streaming TV option with their internet. I switched to it when I moved here. I tried using antenna but it was flaky. I think I had to be off of any Spectrum TV options for a month, but it only costs about $25/month for my 2-year introductory rate which is about to end. I might try antenna again at that point or re-assess. The other option for internet here is t-mobile internet for $50/month. Gotta have internet but can probalby live without network TV if I have to.

Barbie, I hope that job comes thru for you.

That's weird about your phone, Peggy. Hope it doesn't do that again. I've adjusted do the iPhone now & although at first I thought I should have kept the 12 Pro Max, I really like the size of the 12 Pro - fits easily in my pocket when stepping outside with the dog or Jordi. I'm also amazed at how seemless everything is since I already have a macbook & iPad. Crazy easy.

The last 2 days have been warm here - high 90s but it should be cooling down after today (high 80's). We've been fortunate with a relatively mild summer, but wish we'd get some rain.

Well, better get some things done while I have a few more minutes before the little guy wakes up.

Take care everyone.

Well you got me started with soup! It rained all day here, as I drove to Kitty Hawk on the Outer Banks. Had to stop to get blood work done, got gas, and picked up some groceries, so I got soup stuff. By the time I got the groceries, I was completely soaked, especially my shoes and feet. I used my new rain coat, but got wet anyway because I did not have it completely zippered.

So, I made beef vegetable soup. Had some for dinner, but will leave it in the refrigerator all night and will skim the fat off tomorrow. It will also taste better the next days, so I will freeze most of it. Have not made this soup for almost a year, but it is a good fall recipe.

Good evening.

I had a doctor appt. to freeze one skin issue and shave off another for biopsy. Don't think it's anything. Came home to find heavy machinery working and cleaning up area that needs to be landscaped! Woohoo! Talk about dirty - vehicles are all covered in dirt. They create all the dust and when it settles, they go after it with a leaf blower!

I went to the middle school girls' soccer game yesterday - Monica is a coach. Miss the days she played and then coached my grandson.

My gardening will consist of transplanting the hibiscus my BFF brought. Finally picked up new container and potting soil.

Peggy, spooky about your phone, but I'm so happy Carol is getting a trip to visit her son! After having used Hulu and You Tube TV, I'm liking You Tube. If the show is still recording, I can still watch from the beginning and fast forward through commercials. Hulu had some limitations on that.

Another great day today. Carold has been in the area also and Tom and I met Carol and the friend she's traveling with for breakfast. I do enjoyed catching up with her. She says hi and apologizes for not posting.... She admits she isn't tech savvy and can read, but can't figure out why she can't post.

After splitting up Tom and I did more sightseeing including Fremont Indian State Park. Great place with lots of petroglyphs. Luckily there were lots on fairly easily accessible hikes. Unfortunately there were also others on hikes I'm just not comfortable doing anymore. We still managed to exhaust ourselves. Lol

Tom leaves tomorrow and I'm back to work tomorrow .. then I'll get this place back in shape. Ugh lol

how neat Beth that you got to see Carold hopefully you helped her figure out why she can't post...
Saw the picture of Janice's new pup she is a cutie although right now I'm not sure if it's a boy or gal
speaking of forum member's that we don't hear from much but on FB Sarah had one of her eye's done... cataract removed sounds like it was a bit worrisome but doing ok now...
was going to comment on something now of course it's gone.... it happens each day oh yes the phone... awhile back I somehow dialed a number that I don't even think I had in my contacts.... got the husband of an old class mate from high school it was just weird and still don't know how in the world it happened...
we sure lucked out in the construction area of road we were on first stop was a no stop and the next one was a few minutes but not the 20 we were warned about via message board on road... then coming back just went on through as it was our turn and where I thought we almost stopped going nothing there guess they finished up that spot...
think I am off to make me a cup of hot chocolate... get some cookies out of the freezer...
oh and we had visitors today ... a buck came right up to the deck then a doe was wondering around then the Buck took resident on a spot on the lawn just laid there and groomed himself was so fun to watch

This seems like the summer that will never end. I don't know why I should be warmer than you are, Velda, but that does seem to be the case. LOL. Maybe I should come visit so I can "get out of the heat".

Lets see. . . here's my high temps for the last few days:

Monday - 102
Tuesday - 102
Wednesday - 103
Thursday (today) - 104

Ugh.

I see that a cool down is again being predicted for later next week. . . I hope it comes to pass. The last cool down that was predicted to be 75 this past Sunday. . . turned out to be 93.

I was back to work today. Before I went in tho, I called the employment agency that is hiring for the FT cannabis job. Yesterday she emailed me the application and I filled it out and sent it back. I wanted to make sure she got it and then find out the next steps. Well, she never got the application for some reason. She asked me some questions over the phone and then emailed me a few documents to fill out. One was just their employee handbook which I read, signed and sent back tonight. Another one is for a Live Scan and background check. I need to go in to a place to get the live scan done tomorrow hopefully (costs $52  ). Still have to fill out that paperwork tonight. Then once the Live Scan is approved, I will get the background check done, I guess. All very official and detailed! Never had to do any of that where I work now.

Was cloudy, dark and gloomy out when I left work today. Seemed so weird since it is always sunny here. Not used to seeing days like this. But it did keep the temps below 100*. Otherwise, we have been in the low 100's all week. No idea what the forecast is.

Beth, CarolD is looking good! She needs to get back on here!

Sheila, I have had the same box of checks since I lived in MN! I only use one or two checks a year now.

Janice's new doggie is Buster and is a male. The Yorkie/Pom mix is just the cutest!

Need to make a cleaning plan for the weekend. Still have work to do in the living room and the porch. When I pulled into my driveway tonight, I decided my house looks so cute now and has a lot of character, compared to the boring houses around mine. I guess I just like more color than most people do. Just need to get things cleaned up a bit outside when the weather cools off some. Meanwhile...the inside.

I am going into work an hour early tomorrow because every Friday the other two gals always want to leave an hour early. I need my hours especially since I lost some yesterday. Also need to get that Live Scan done before I go in as well. I guess I better get to bed pretty soon here since I will have to get up earlier tomorrow morning.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Catherine, it was interesting to see your comment about your iPhone. I finally got my ine set up and I've been wishing I had bought the iPhone 12 Max, we could have traded! I didn't go into the store to compare but online it looked as thought the Pro was the same size as my old iPhone 6. I hope I get to like it better as I use it but, the font is really small, I adjusted for the apps that will increase it but still hard to see the time and battery information on the front. I also notice a difference in the sound and which makes alerts rather annoyingly sharp. I also like the button to turn on and off as opposed to the swipe to turn on.

Beth, I remember Carold. You said she was traveling with a friend, did something happen to her husband? I can't remember his nickname but something to do with fire. They were on the road quite a bit of the time.

Barbie, I too am curious as to what a Live Scan is.
