FeelLike Fall Wednesday

Good morning everyone. After a wet and very stormy day in some areas, the sun is shining this morning. But the forecast says getting cloudy, windy and into low 60’s, with lake effect rain showers by afternoon. Be a good day to work inside. That’s what I was doing yesterday on and off. Painting some wood crafts for my fall outdoor decorating. Tomorrow looks to be same, tad bit warmer. But we are now in what is called Meteorological fall, so anything goes. The seasons start to change way before the calendar says they do, so from the meterogical standpoint, it’s more accurate. At least in the northern climates. But I live the cool, crisp days this time of year. Cider and Carmel apple time and of course fall color.

But before the rain showers begin, need to get to town. Have two things to ship back to Wayfair and two nice nearly new dog crates to donate to Animal Shelter in my truck bed. Neighbor left them with me when she sold cottage and said do whatever I wanted with them. Called shelter and they would love to have them. I need to leave the tonneau cover open on my truck due to their height, so want to get this stuff delivered before it rains. Neighbors down the road had garage sale o er weekend, so set out bunch of free stuff, got rid of 3/4 and will take remaining few things to Goodwill. Need to hit the grocery store too.

Finished raking over the newly cleared areas in my yard, so now nature can go to work. Moved picnic table from neighbors to my garage, future renovation project. Still adding to my outdoor fall decorations. Need to clean this house too.

Things are starting to move along on sale of my lot, slow but sure. We found the 4 corner survey markers. We know the plat lines , but just had to find the markers. Did a rough measurement of where they might put the house. Not till next year though. Builders are busy. Property thry are selling may be sold, so thry are happy about that. So we may be closing on lot down the road here. No hurry.

So guess I had better quit jabbering and get moving. Judy, sorry about the awning issues. After waiting all this time and doing all the driving etc., that’s frustrating. Hope you get a good resolution. Hope the mattress gets to you pretty quick too.

Good morning, I am up early today but went to bed early so all good. Doing a little reflecting this morning. Today is exactly one year since the devastating Almeda fire took out a swath of 9 miles, 3 towns and displaced 2400 people from their homes. Mine being one of them. Seems like only yesterday but then again alot has happened in the last year. I have lots to be thankful for, good friends (online and off), a nice place to call home, and we escaped safely. I had to move out of my Rogue Valley north about 100 miles. I am slowly embracing the Umpqua Valley and what it has to offer. The things I miss the most are my friends I made down there. We are all scattered all over. Since Covid I really have not made any friends up here but on the bright side I am much closer to my BFF Laura. Only 2 1/2 hours away, instead of 4. 1 1/2 hours away from Rogue Valley and my good friend down there AND decent shopping ha ha So all in all has been a busy year for me and I am moving forward because you cannot go back.

Took Emma to the groomers yesterday and she smell much better ha ha. BJ is right, I think I need a tent to finish my shed ha ha I have a couple errands to run today so plan on finishing it up (the primer coats) this week, take out my tomato plants, and start getting ready for fall.

Good afternoon! It’s been a sunny morning but starting to cloud up now with a storm to hit us a bit later today. I debated about mowing but decided to hold off until Friday or Saturday. Only in the mid 70’s but muggy as all get out so definitely makes it feel warmer. Anne, to answer your question as to where I am I’m in central PA just about the center of the state. If you’re inclined to see cities, Philly is about 4 hours and Pittsburgh is about 3 from here. And lots of mountains around us. Benezette where I love to go watch the elk is only a bit over an hour from here. That is if I don’t go off on one of my “adventures” and take the long way home then it could be much longer!! Been watching the game commission’s elk cam and some activity but so far it doesn’t seem that the rut has gotten going yet. So maybe when I go up in a couple of weeks camping we’ll hit it at a good time. Love to lay in bed at night and hear the bulls off in the distance or in the back field at the campground. Good times. I think the hot weather has affected the timing but what do I know! Judy, what a bummer about your mattress and the problem you’re having. Hope they can track it so you finally get it. Karen, hard to believe it’s been a year since the fire that forced you to have to relocate. But admire your attitude on it all. Sue, as usual you are busy with your projects. If you run out of them I have plenty more that could use your touch! The last couple of years a lady in the apartment building next door to me has had a container garden on the fire escape but this year her plants haven’t done well at all. Makes me sad for her. She has always taken such care with it.
Don’t know if I mentioned earlier that I want to remove one of the jack knife couches and make a daybed with a decent mattress on it. Wondering if it is a good idea if and when I decide to sell the RV. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome since I’m really on the fence about it. I really don’t want a bigger camper with a dedicated bedroom but I’m sure wishing for more comfortable sleeping. A topper hasn’t worked out for me in the past so decided that’s not the solution. Okay, it’s really starting to get dark out there so I’d better close up the windows upstairs before the rain hits! Hope you all have a great day!

Afternoon All, still hot and humid on the shore. The Walmart grocery pick up has slowly gone down hill. Yesterday got home and missing 5 items, think they forgot a bag. Had to call and go through the hassle of getting a refund. The last time the order was smushed together so had potato chip crumbs. Think they are having employee issues. Broke down and signed up with Food Lion last night and placed an order so hoping for better results. I bought cold weather plants for the balcony containers. Think I might have to rotate them in and out of the fridge for some cold. ;) Management has posted a sign that says unvaccinated people must wear a mask in the building. I guess everyone is vaccinated because I am the only one wearing a mask. I’m vaccinated but hope I am protecting children. Now that I have brightened everyone’s day I’m going to get some chocolates. Be safe.

Sharon, I think replacing the jack knife sofa with anything is a wonderful idea. They are miserable to sleep on.

Thanks Beth but dont think I didnt have my down days. But they were few in actuality. I am settled now and enjoying my new home. Even if I had wanted to move back since they have the go ahead to move homes in it would never be the same. So I have moved forward and will embrace my new community.

Was warm today but not as smoky but it is still with us. My plan is to get out fairly early tomorrow and finish putting the primer on the storage shed. I have nothing else scheduled so this should work out fine before it warms up for the day.

Shirl our Walmart wont deliver or do curbside pick up for food. It will for merchandise, go figure.

Karen, it's hard to believe it's been a year since you lost your house. You made a great recovery. I had to do that 16 years ago and I don't think I could do it again.

My step-daughter came about noon and after she left I went to town. Went to the grocery store and Lowe's. I got some fertilizer for the roses and a new indoor/outdoor thermometer. Now I can see how hot I am. lol I remembered to get a new filter for the refrigerator. I don't know how much good they do and they are $50. It's probably been 6 months since the refrigerator started telling me it was time. I don't use much ice or cold water so one a year is probably plenty.

I haven't tried a grocery pick up yet. I can't get everything I want when I go in person. I get aggravated at the employees with the carts that pick the orders. They don't pay any attention that they are blocking aisles and don't get out of the way.

I ran into a lady that I use to work with at the grocery store. She told me that her brother had covid and he's the third one in the family. I really wanted to ask her if she is vaccinated but I didn't. What I know of her family I bet they aren't vaccinated.

pretty much a do nothing day sure I could dust but what the heck not my thing perhaps if I planned on living here indefinitely I'd be more inclined to or had that much energy... so crocheted realized that it was going to be much to much big so tore it out and started over and did the 3 rows I strive to do on the baby's afghan... still don't know what the name will be... I would actually find a S name that I like....
it didn't show it on the account page but my last payment was made on the 5th wheel today... showed coming out of the account but not accounted on the other page yet!!! but now the trailer is all paid for so happy... :D :D :D
and watched lots of tv got involved in this mystery and all the sudden Judge Judy was what I did speak up this time.. after all only 40 minutes to go mom thought that the show had just come on she'd only been asleep for several hours... and dosed off as it was continuing
we had left overs for supper now to decide if it's soup tomorrow or if it will be celebration time .... suppose to be hot today and tomorrow but it didn't feel that way never took off my sweat shirt... according to the alert on the phone it's a possible fire alert low humidity high winds and hot temps... didn't feel the heat nor the winds as to the humidity well it's always low although 10%is very low which is what the alert said it could be however the phone app doesn't give the humidity so can't see what it is or was...
oh good news though the tranny leak was a hose!!!! yea a mere 130 dollars and they are going to have the oil leak looked at
if they are putting in as much oil as was reported to me there is a problem there we'll hope that it's a cheaper fix...
you all take care
