Thursday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday Afternoon

Postby Irmi » Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:59 pm

Hi ladies!

Morning has come and gone and it's now mid afternoon on the east coast. Steve & I left MD this morning and are settled for the first night in Ashland VA. Tomorrow we will go to Dillon SC. We're so glad the MD traffic is behind us. On a good note, I drove the motorhome for the first time today and this was the first time I also pulled our toad. It was so easy and I'm not sure why I've hesitated so many times before about driving it. This campground has dinner every Thursday and today's menu is pizza & salad, so we'll go and enjoy not having to cook. They also have a waffle breakfast every weekend, so we'll attend that tomorrow before we leave to head further south.

Take care and stay safe.

Congrats Irmi for driving the RV! That will be helpful in an emergency if Steve can't drive for some reason.
Sounds like you are in a great spot for eating! I would stay for a waffle breakfast too! Altho I would probably need a nap afterwards! Good luck on the rest of your trip south.

Just about out the door here, for work. Have a good day! :D

Had my annual doctor visit today and got bad news--I have shrunk another inch!!! Do you know what this means? It means that your BMI goes up because you are now shorter!!! :( So, maybe she mis-measured me??? Does not seem fair that I am the same weight but BMI is now higher!

She ordered a bone density and a CAT scan to check on a nodule in my lung that I have had for several years. It has only grown a possible 1 mm in two years, so if there is no change this time, they will stop the CAT scans. Anyway, they were going to schedule me for early December when I would not be here, but I told them any Cleveland Clinic facility would do. It was then about 9:30 am, so they found an appointment about 25 miles away at noon, so I took it and got that taken care of, which was great! Have to work on the bone density test next to see if I can get it done in the next two weeks before i leave Ohio.

Also heard from the mattress company I ordered a new, custom-size mattress from, and it should arrive in the middle of next week. Hope so.

Yeah Irmi!! So glad you have everything settled and are on your way out of the traffic and on your way to FL! Good to hear you found you are comfortable driving the RV. Sounds as though you are at a good campground and you don't have to cook!. Enjoy the rest of your drive!

Barbie I really liked the dress you wore to the wedding it was perfect.

Judy I hope your doctors appointments for your tests go well. That was good that you could get a same day appointment.

It is sooo hot here 94 and heat index probably near 110 with all the humidity. Hopefully tomorrow it will start to cool down.

Yay! Irmi! I truly believe anyone who can drive should be able to drive the rv, and before something happens and they have to. I'm proud of you.

Shirl, I'm about to make a small pizza for myself. If I want more I'll need to make another lol

Good luck on the test results, Judy and awesome news about the mattress. I'll cross my fingers and toes that they are giving the right info this time.

Been busy this morning. Lots of piddly things to do and then ran some errands. Filled the car up with gas YIKES, got it washed, went to Lowe's for my paint so I can finish painting my shed this weekend. It has been a tad too breezy to spray paint in the mornings and by the afternoon it is hot out so I am just biding my time. Then went to Costco......loaded up on a few necessities and a few splurges but that is par for the course of me and Costco. Picked up a roasted chicken so Emma and I had some of that when I got all the groceries put away. Will have it again tomorrow and then will pick the rest of the chicken off for a chicken and stove top stuffing casserole, and going to make a quesadilla as they are super good and so easy.

Good job Irmi on the driving. I used to get told all the time I was so brave to drive my Motorhome and one day I finally asked why am I brave but your husband isnt. Geez you would thing they were driving with their male anatomy.

Judy hope you get all your tests finished AND your mattress comes as scheduled. I got an appointment for Emma to get groomed on Tuesday. She is blowing her coat...........again....and is super itchy despite me brushing her twice a day. AKA her favorite thing for me to do to her. I just grab the brush and blanket and she goes nuts, I guess I should be glad she loves it so much. But a bath and nail trim is definitely in order.

Well if it is a little too breezy to paint in the morning I will do housekeeping chores, change the bed and clean the bathrooms. Always something to do LOL

I just finished eating half of a pizza I got at Pizza Hut. It was costly but is so good! Still have half left for lunch tomorrow.

When I stepped outside today to go to work I was about blasted away by the heat! What a difference from the last week or two! It was 115* at noon!

Gonna try to get to bed early tonight. If I can get my butt out of bed early enough tomorrow, I will go get my haircut before work. Will see...

Back to watching the weather again. The storm hasn't really formed yet and they are saying it could be here Sunday. My son and I are talking about moving a couple of vehicles tomorrow. Can't wait until the last minute. My neighbors have a living quarter horse trailer. They were out messing with it and the battery was dead. They keep it plugged in but didn't check the water in the battery. They move it to a friend's house and stay in it for a storm.

Will have to pick up everything in the yard. I don't know how so much stuff gets out from one year to the next. I need to figure out what to do with the push mower. Last year the storm got water in the motor. I can put it in the old house but need to put it up on something. I hope they are wrong about the storm coming to Louisiana.

Made taco soup today for supper as well as hot fudge pudding cake... my nephew doesn't like chocolate per say but he must have liked it this time as he had two servings... it is a really good dessert think it is one you would find in the old Betty Crocker cook book.... something that my mom used to make every so often
other than that didn't do much of anything...
looks like from what my dd counted on the afghan I made for my grandson I will need more yarn need to shorten the the amount I have at the ends that would help some as I usually waste a lot of yarn when I go to even up the fringe
need to get up and take mom to the dr tomorrow morning I think we may go out for breakfast.... perhaps will see how busy the restaurant is...
it's been chilly the past couple of days haven't even had the windows open
Irmi proud of your achievement... really important to learn to do the driving says the woman who didn't until after her husband died and she had to ...
you all have a great day
