Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning gals. Another smokey sky morning it looks like. Was really hazy yesterday, thanks to our neighbors to the north. Smoke is coming from 450 miles away, the way the crow flies. One fire in Quetico Provincial Park, another up near Kenora and the Lake of the Woods area among others. They say the Quetico fire is burnig pretty much unchecked as resources and personnel are pressed, trying to fight fires threatening the First Nation Communities in other areas. . National Forest Service in MN is doing daily flyovers to monitor it and also alerting and evacuating campers in the Boundary Waters Canoe area of MN as the fire might cross the border. There is also a fire east of Ely, but is pretty well contained. I wonder how RitaMac is doing, as doesn’t she live in northern MN?

Looks like I set off the ice cream cravings yesterday  I did indeed ride the tractor down and enjoyed a Flurry with Oreo’s in it. That’s similiar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I’m glad everybody from neighbors on down are getting some laughs over my antics with my tractor. I figure ya only live once, gotta do some crazy things in one’s old age

Today is wait and see if I get a call to come get my truck. It’s either today or tomorrow. Am hoping it’s today. Judy, it is a bit of a stretch to drive the tractor that far. Would definitely run out of gas  I’ll be able to drive over. Thinking Friday, as I want to go to Camping World, so will do that Saturday as traffic will be heading north on 75 and 127 Friday. Your welcome to come along.

Not sure what I’m getting into today. Need to clean my BBQ grill. If I get the truck back, definitely know it will be off shopping, bank etc., unless it’s late afternoon.

Kay, enough jabbering g here. Have a nice day all.

I am awake early this morning even tho I didn't get to sleep until almost 2am.

Rita lives just northwest of the Twin Cities so she is nowhere near the fires fortunately. MN is in a drought right now so any fire is a big deal. I sure would hate to see the Boundary Waters area burn. There are no roads in there so it would have to all be fought by air drops.

Back to bed...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning. I live about 15 miles from St Cloud, 10 miles from Monticello. Central Minnesota is in the severe drought area. We have had no rain this summer. What little we have had comes in short spits, not even enough to settle the dust. Last week we had two days of smoke drifting down from the fires in Canada. Air quality was in the dangerous zone. The city of St Cloud looked like it was fogged in. We could taste the smoke in the air. With the drought I have spent hours each day dragging a hose around the yard keeping the floors and shrubs alive. Even the mature trees are beginning to show signs of stress. The 3 feral kitties are still really stressed and rarely venture out from their hiding spot. Last night I put pieces of chicken out as a treat with their evening feeding. So hopefully they will start showing up at the food dish at 6pm. Still hope to get in a camping trip this fall. Ourneighbor has started a small business painting cars. We want to see if he will paint the Shasta. Time to get some paper work organization done. With all the reports that come in from our medicare supplement insurance my desk was a stack of papers so organizing them in categories and putting into 3 ring binders.

Made it to Medford....smoky skies all the way here. Roseburg was just kind of hazy but after I hit Canyonville (home of 7Feathers Casino) there was thick dense smoke. There are like 20 fires burning in the area from the lightning the other night. It thought I might head out of the smoke but nope. Medford is socked in with the Northern CA fires and the central Oregon fires. Glad I brought some N95 masks.

Am staying at my friends house as she is in Nebraska for birthday celebration for her SIL's 95 birthday. Seems funny that she isnt here but appreciate her letting me stay here. She did give me a chore to do.............water her tomatoes LOL I can do that. Picked up a sandwich at Jersey Mikes, so good. Now having a cup of coffee and a cookie, life is good. Tomorrow morning get my eye shot and scans. Wont do much tomorrow. Then Friday get my other eye done and will head home. Just a quick trip.

actually finished the afghan tonight other than trimming the fringe I think because of limited space here I will take it and the unused yarn to the trailer tomorrow.... have yarn to start the next one but would like to finish the Swedish Weave first and the baby's afghan but will see what happens... am going to Utah tomorrow have yarn for the next one so do I take it with me the Swedish Weave is too much to take on road trips and honestly won't get it finish before we go to Wisc... so will need to finish and either send it or go on another road trip that is my options will have to see what I decide to do... and made the lemon meringue pie today we just had some but either it hadn't set up long enough or I didn't cook it long enough.... but it took forever and really thought it was thick enough... but perhaps it wasn't  oh well now in the fridge had a good flavor
tasted like lemon's

You taxed my brain so late at night lol.... It's here above the post that it was posted in the wrong place now and gone from the other room.
