Good morning all. Rain moved in late yesterday afternoon and it’s still here! Quite a wind with lots of thunder but first wave dropped very little rain. That came a bit later. And temp dropped from the 90’s to 70’s fairly quickly! I’m still dealing with extra dogs and suffice to say, it’s been interesting. The younger one just doesn’t want to get along with my guy and Rascal is totally intimidated by it all. So I’m moving the little one s to a large crate and tethering little one to me at other times so Rascal will be able to move around without getting snapped at and chased. Crazy thing was yesterday when I was sitting on the couch I had the little ones snoozing beside me and Rascal napping on the floor by me without any problems. I don’t get it but as long as no blood is shed we’ll get through another couple of days. Then they can go home and Rascal can have his routine back! I do make sure the little ones have plenty of time to roam around too! Shirl, hope the tomato plant survives the storm! Irmi, I sure don’t envy your clean out. I’m trying to do the same but so far not under a time constraint! I keep repeating that it’s just things and I really don’t need all of it. Not sure how that’s working though! I think the idea of getting someone here to take out what might sell or be gotten rid of is an idea I need to check in to. We did that with my mom’s house but the fellow we worked with his retired from that so I have to find someone else if there is anyone else in the area. Anyway, sounds like everyone re staying busy with one thing or another. Sue, you till make me tired! Judy, if you make it to PA in your journey my driveway is always available for a stopover. Time to try to get little pups outside again. The younger one doesn’t seem to like to get his feet wet! Have a good day and stay safe.

Shirl, hope Elsa doesn't cause any damage in your area. There was a tornado in Georgia, I think, that really caused some damage in a campground.
My grandson's birthday is Sunday and I keep forgetting to get a card every time I go to town. Hopefully I can get that done today. I need to get gas for the lawn mower so maybe I can remember two things.
It's not raining now but there is a big area offshore so it's probably headed this way. At the rate I'm moving it will be raining by the time I get to town.

Sharon I can definitely relate to what you are going through with the dogs!! My male miniature poodle still intimidates Emma, my standard ,so far no fighting as she readily avoids him. When she was a puppy I had to keep them separated for about 4 looong months. I had a exercise pen set up in the family room for her but what a hassle rotating turns to go out etc!!
Shirl, I hope the storm doesn't do any damage!!
Supposed to be a little cooler here the next few day with rain!

Good morning gals!
Luckily, Elsa wasn't a hurricane or she could have done a lot more damage!
Got woken up by chainsaws this morning. They are finally trimming the palm trees in my area. I ran out to move my golf cart since it is right below one of the palm trees in my yard. I moved it across the street under a carport at a vacant house. My Jeep is under my carport so it should be safe from falling palm fronds.
Still really liking my job. It is easy and everyone is so laid back. The time goes by pretty fast.
Still on call for the jury duty. Am lucky I can go in to work each day and don't have to sit around waiting. I just call the jury line after 7pm and it tells me if I go in the next day or just need to check the next evening.
Yesterday would have been my dad's 95th birthday. He has been gone 4 years now. I was staying in Keystone SD 4 years ago this week with my trailer, on my way out here. That was the best part of my trip. Everything went downhill after that.
Sounds like they are getting to my trees now, so I am gonna watch.
Have a good day!

I am sitting in a rest area waiting for heavy rain storm to pass. I tried to post using my phone but got an error message when I tried to save.
Do any of you prefer real talcum powder? I don't like the corn starch substitutes, and the only talcum powder I can buy is Yardley from Amazon, so I bought a couple of years worth. And, yes, I have read about lawsuits, but there is no serious research that says that it causes ovarian cancer, plus I am not using it where the women who won the suit used it!!!
In any case, the lawyers are getting rich because of the big money in the original suit.
Obviously, dogs do not recognize size in terms of dominance, and neither do cats. My son's two 15 pound cats are submissive to his elderly 5 pound cat who barely has any teeth. The elderly cat gets better wet food and is fed more often than the healthy younger ones. Here is a photo of one bigger cat lined up just in case the older one leaves a few scraps of her wet food. (This female cat really needs to be put on a diet, but that is hard when you have three cats, says my son.):

Not much new here today. Had a nice cool morning so lots of cool air inside the house for a while. All closed up now so hopefully no AC until late afternoon. The 116° heatwave plus a few days of triple digits boosted my electric bill so doing my best to keep it manageable.
Just some housework this morning and another load of laundry, sheets and towels.

I have been outside watching them trim my palm trees. It is SO freaking hot and humid out there! Usually I can sit in the shade and it is much cooler, but with this humidity, even in the shade, I just sit with sweat dripping off me! I don't now how those guys can work all day in the sun, heat and humidity!
Now I need to cool off, clean up, and get ready for work. That was my big excitement for the day! The palm trees look pretty bare now but will fill out pretty quickly.
Most animals have a hierarchy of some sort. Even ferrets will establish who is boss when they are first introduced. It can change tho with them.
I moved my Jeep at the last minute to the parking area down the street, just in case these guys left their equipment in front of my house to go to lunch!

Got back from my trip to Michigan for a friends wedding. Both the drive up and back went well with only a couple of construction slow downs. I picked up a friend from dog showing about an hour north of me and we spent the rest of the drive and most of the way driving back swapping stories of living..... Now to get ready to head off to Huntington, WV, tomorrow.
I found the link below to the famous GTG in Oregon (that was visited by the plague) showing up in memories this afternnon. No forum members were lost in this sweep of the stomach bug but during those initial 10-12 hours none of us were quite sure. And no it was never connected to a common food source. Most of you will recognize these faces, though come to think of it I am not sure that I ever caught Lyn or Alice on camera. And apparently I have left all misspelling un edited just for your enjoyment.

I got my grandson's birthday card mailed and picked up a can of gas and diesel. Things went down hill from there. I headed home and my brake peddle went almost to the floor at a stop sign. There was a parking lot by there so stopped and called a wrecker and my son to come get me. I tried to call my neighbor but he wouldn't answer his phone. I have felt like the truck wasn't driving right but I drive it so seldom that I didn't know if I was imagining things. By the time my son got to town the monsoon hit so I got wet getting things out of the truck. I'm just glad I didn't run into someone.

Tina I loved your rendition of our GTG. The Plague indeedy. It seemed the only ones who did not get sick were these California gals Sharon, Diana and Sandi. Lyn (another CA gal) got it last I believe and she really was probably the sickest. We decided it had to be the plague because we did not eat together, hadnt had our potluck yet, we were at 2 different campgrounds so who knew. I think Laura, Mitch and I got it first then everyone else followed in time. But it was super great to see everyone.
Oh Martha that sounds scary. Good thing nothing got in your way LOL Sorry you got drenched but glad that is all that went wrong. Look at it this way, your day can only go up from here.

Good thing I moved my Jeep because the tree trimmers did leave all their equipment (chipper and truck) in front of my driveway and went to lunch.
Had to move my Jeep again at work because a crew was trimming the palm trees there too! I got a tour of the back room of how all the pot products are made and put together. Interesting! When I was young, we just picked out the seeds and stems and rolled the rest in paper! Much more to it now days! I go in early tomorrow so my co-worker friend and I can partake in the pizza birthday party at noon.
My neck and shoulders are bothering me some with mild stiffness and aching. Some of the may be from sitting at a table for 5 hours, but I think also my pillow needs to be replaces. Usually when my neck is stiff and sore, that is the cause. I am due for a new pillow. They don't hold their shape and fluffiness very long.
