Good morning ladies!

Barbie, I'm so happy you'll be going into business for yourself and hope things work out for you! Sue, enjoy your cooler weather. To all of you in the west, I wish I could send you some of the rain we've been having. I don't think a day has gone by for over a week that we haven't had rain showers and they re still in the forecast for at least the next week. Shirl, I sent you a PM.

We will be pulling out of FL tomorrow morning and will go to GA for a couple days to visit friends and will leave there Sunday to continue the trip north. All our patio furniture and outside rug are in the back room in the casita. Later today we need to empty the refrigerator and defrost the freezer and everything will be transferred to the fridge in the motorhome. We'll be going to the hardware store for some Damp Rid for the casita and then to the bank to have cash going down the road.

Have a good day, ladies!

Sunny Thursday

Postby Othersharon » Thu Jun 24, 2021 9:51 am

Good morning. Sun is out today and temps are forecasted to go up into the 70’s. By the weekend supposed to be in the 80’s again. Crazy how up and down it’s been! I have one more appointment today and that should do it for awhile. I seem to clump them together all in one week. No real reason for me to do that since they’re all fairly close to home but it just seems to be how they fall. Went to the chiropractor yesterday and my poor back was not doing well. I still think it was the 5 nights on the couch/bed in Lola. I think we’ve hit on a plan to remove one of the couches and make it into a daybed type bed with a decent mattress on it. Now I need to research having a mattress made to size. Plus I won’t lose my storage under it. Sorry if I’m repeating myself but kinda excited about doing it. Judy, I remember a trip DH and I took west one time and remember coming back an seeing green again! We were so happy to see it again. Each area has its own beauty but I still love the greens of our side of the country. Just a me thing! Shirl, I think about the cherry tomatoes I found in my driveway out front. One of the neighbors in the apartment building has some pots on the fire escape and they dropped over here from her little garden last summer. It’s about time for me to get going into State College and get this doctor appointment over with so better get moving. Have a good day and stay cool!

I don't know what I'm going to do today. I haven't been to Walmart in a couple of days. They probably miss me. lol Irmi, like you, I don't think we have missed getting rain every day. My yard could stand to be mowed again if it will dry up a little.

I take the local 8 page newspaper but don't read it in a timely manner. Last night I was going through some old newspapers to throw them away and saw that a woman I worked with passed away last month. She was only 6 months older than I am. That is disturbing to me. It's hard to believe that it has been 14 years since our office closed.

Irmi, have a safe trip.

My parents came to California from Missouri when I was three, and here we stayed. I have lived all of my life in California - except for a too-brief stint living in beautiful central Vermont.

We have what we call "max green" here for about a week or so in the spring (this year, not so much) and then the rains stop in April or so, the weather turns hot, and everything dries to a pale yellow until it rains again in early winter (at least what passes for winter here!).

It is difficult to imagine living in a place that is green year-round. I think I would like to try that, but probably never will.

Thanks for mentioning it, you made my day. :D

I too, miss the lush green vegetation in Minnesota, but the winters I don't miss at all. I guess every place has it's good and not so good points.

Hanging out in bed way too long today. Am just about to take out the trash and recycling. Then clean up my bedroom. I have a PT appointment at 3.

Sunny and calm today. We had a whopping .03 inches of rain yesterday! :o Barely enough to get the ground damp. Temps are heading back up to the mid to upper teens again by next weekend.

Have a good day!

It is raining like crazy here at Clark's Ferry, with no suggestion of stopping soon. Bad/good thing is that I got a truck wash today, just before I came here!! At least I am not driving in it, so maybe will stay fairly clean since I am parked on a cement pad. I looked at the radar map and it looks like there is a lot of rain in the southwest. Is that right, or does the map exaggerate? The plants and animals need it, besides the human beings. Temps are a lot lower here than they were last week and weekend in Denver. Hope it cools off for everyone. The next week in the Midwest, including Indiana and Ohio, shows rain every day.

Just realized I posted on Tuesday today. Oh, well! Anyway, had a good chat with some newly full-timing neighbors and shared some info about camping places. Only bad thing about this campground is that there is a train track about 50' from me where every train going through blows its very loud horn several times!! Happens about once per hour so should be interesting night.

I am trying to do more reading and less internet stuff, and to go through a large stack of letters i found at my aunt's house last May, 2020. She saved every letter my parents and I ever wrote her, back as far as 1952. I found a couple my grandmother wrote, which are interesting.

one of my Q friends that actually lives there posted on FB that it was raining and the winds were blowing!!! they got a 1/2 inch in just a short time but of course her Oregon Friends laughed at her but for Q that was good... we got rain here and mom actually didn't remind me to water the plants...even had thunder...
my husband grew up in the midwest Iowa to exact so lots of green my father in law said once that he would never water that the yards could blow away I don't think he ever did ... we do have green here till about mid July in a good year to have green grass we work for it or put in sprinkler systems  and that could be real work to with the rocky soil that we can have...
on our drive yesterday we stopped by where I grew up at... had to see if grandpa's house was still hanging in the air so as to speak... they lifted it as the foundation was crumbling and need to redo some of the foundation at least maybe all of it... don't know about that but they told my brother that grandpa did good when he built the house it was totally square guess they didn't expect that...
9 years ago Larry returned to his Heavenly Father what a hole he has left I still miss him guess I always will sometimes more than other's my youngest posted a picture of her and her dad before one of her prom's her sentiments brought the tears...
as much as I ever cry... not a crier today we went to the store mom actually walked around the grocery store.

Sheila, no big rains around here that I am aware of, at least not here in the desert. I don't watch the news anymore so I have no idea what is happening anywhere else.

PT was painful today for some reason. She really worked me good I guess.

Good news... last night I saw both the fluffy black and white kitty and the orange kitty on my deck eating! Both came again tonight. Good to see they are OK! Spooky comes several times a day. He likes to sit on the front seat of my golf cart sometimes during the day. When I say hi to him, he hisses at me! The scruffy white kitty hasn't come here since I tried to trap him a month ago. Still haven't seen any sign of kittens. Just relieved tho that the other kitties are doing good.

Have a good night!
