Fathers Day Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fathers Day Sunday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sun Jun 20, 2021 12:31 pm

Woke up later than normal but I took a relaxing pill last night. Forgot to turn my AC down to 77 from 80 before I went to bed and slept so sound I didn't even notice! I usually like it cooler when I sleep.

Just waiting for my church service to start. They are having trouble with their internet I guess. Everyone is anxious to see it today since our retired minister is back to speak today. He is deeply missed!

Hoping today is a bit less stressful than yesterday! I don't plan to go anywhere today. Just relax and watch golf. It will be even hotter today than yesterday so I don't want to go out there at all! I have only seen one cat coming by for food (Spooky) but the others might be coming during the night when it is cooler, hopefully. Lola still asks to go out on the porch yet, but I won't let her out there now.

Was planning to pick up some blueberries yesterday to make blueberry muffins in honor of my dad but with everything going on yesterday, that didn't happen. Well, I will make them eventually. My dad loved blueberries so I gave him a blueberry pie for Father's Day, his birthday, and Christmas every year. I am not a big fan of blueberries but I do like them in muffins.

...just checked the food bowl on the deck and it is mostly full yet. So I brought a couple of dishes to the house with the white and orange cats with food for them and changed their water. Still haven't seen any kittens but it is too hot to be out anyways so am hoping they are OK under the house. :(

Have a great day! :D

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning -

Did some unpacking in the office last night - made a mess I need to clean up now. :) There is no way I have enough room for all my stuff that has been stored.

New yard art in front - dog poop bags and receptacle - not overly thrilled.

Hope you are all enjoying your day.

Late afternoon here and it is 90 degrees with a heat index of 94. That probably sounds cool to Barbie and a few others though. Anita I would not be happy with your yard art either! Hopefully it isn't permanent.

I've been wanting my hair cut and the person I used to go to retired before Covid. I cut it once last year and I cut the top and sides fairly often so yesterday I checked the sign of the moon and decided the time was right so i cut it myself! I really like it!! The back was a bit of a challenge but had DH look and he only found a couple of places it needed to be evened up a bit. Sure feels a lot better.

The crazy dogs keep wanting to outside and lay on the patio! I set the timer for 6 minutes and them make them come inside.

My sweet neighbor brought me some strawberries yesterday and I think now is a good time to have some with ice cream!

Another hot day here (not as hot as some) but it is 98 on my back deck right now. I just went out and watered again. Laundry done, sheets changed, towels washed. Tomorrow need to decide what to take south for a few days. Only going to be gone 4 days so not alot to pack LOL

Threw some ribs in the crockpot yesterday and will take some of the fat off, coat them with BBQ sauce and put them in my Air Fryer for dinner. Fresh squash from the garden and might make some potato salad. Now making an iced mocha and going to plop in front of the tv for a bit.

BJ, I feel guilty that I'm complaining with the 90's when I see what Barbie, Carol and others are experiencing. I just walked Ty and he walked me back home before pooping. I'm lucky that things cool down overnight, though and very grateful for that. And as the sun is getting ready to set it'll be comfortable enough for Ty. And in the morning before I head to work.

Anita I wouldn't want that in my yard, but if people pick up the dog poop, I'd prefer having it than the poop in my yard. That said, I'd more prefer a dog walking area that wasn't my yard and would talk to someone. That invites all the dogs to your area.

Barbie the heat overnight would drive me nuts. I, too, love to sleep with it cooler.

Good Evening, hot and humid here too, low 90’s. Yesterday watched the traffic cam off and on. G#2 granddaughter’s birthday cookout was at 4:00. There was a lull in traffic so I floored it and surprised everyone. Had a nice time stayed a couple hours and was surprised that I zipped home without a problem. An hour later the traffic was a mess, again. If that stinky container is near your outdoor space complain now before they landscape. There are a couple post here, one by a side entrance door and another in a open space. One day there was a note hanging on the door at main entrance. It said “ if your dog sh&*# in front of my apartment again and you do not pick it up I will pick it up and put it on your car”. Haven’t seen anymore notes. Lol Karen, your dinner sounds so good. I don’t feel like cooking so a Cobb salad tonight. Stay cool.

Had a bit of a "cool down" today, only topped out at 105 (yesterday it was 111). At the moment the outside temp is hovering around 102, at 6:00 p.m.

Went to open my window last night to "let in the cool air", but first checked the outside thermometer. At 10:00 p.m. it was 90.

I decided not to open my window. . .

It has been a scorching June. Usually, the really hot weather here doesn't start until July.

Not this year. . .

Karen, we are on the same wave link. I cooked ribs in the slow cooker with BBQ sauce yesterday too. This morning I made potato salad and heated some baked beans to go with them. I'm trying to find something to make for the 4th cookout at the lake. I'm not sure we are going to make it up there. My sister has been sick since early May and having a upper and lower GI tomorrow.

It got up to 93 today but was very windy. Like blowing things off the porch windy. It looked like it was going to rain but never did. Hope I get more done tomorrow than I did today. I need to call the new Ford dealer and see if they will service my motorhome.

My Minnesota son and family are in Orlando and head home Tuesday. Hope tne riots in MN are settled down. It's all about planned refurbishing and repair of a long existing pipeline. Even Jane Fonda dropped in!
