Afternoon All, Tina, hope your weather is as nice as on the island. Dew point and pollen count low and a gentle breeze on the balcony. I sat outside for awhile and laughed because I was completely hidden from view by the giant tomato planet. Fooled with the new toaster oven and its dumb. Did read an article this morning about baking a potato in the air fryer. Will try that for dinner. I only have little potatoes so will see how I can mess that up. Lol Hope everyone finds something to do, interesting, fun, restful, etc. be safe

Warming up here. Few days ago, this hour was 59, today 80!
Dog show sounds fun, ESP dog and people watching.
Shirl, I have had really good luck typing the item I want to air fry into google, and scrolling down a little from the ad type answers and there are these sentences with a arrow to right to expand and it brings up what I need, a guide for cooking. Last night I typed air fry frozen hash brown patties, then when that was done, I searched air fry sausage links. I'm keeping a little file in my DejaOffice app on my phone of these quick directions for simple things. Not really recipes , I file under air fryer and name of food, such as steak, then I put in AF temp to use and minutes. I have over a dozen items in the files now, which makes using air fryer easier than trying to remember or looking up each time. and each time I cook, I add update if I need to such as changes in time or temp.
I was going to my high school reunion planning committee, but driving 160 miles each way today just does not appeal, so I'll let the usual people who live near hometown handle it and offer help the day of. It's 55 years for us this year and my first reunion without Mel at my side, when it's held in September.
Have a good day everyone, I need to finish emptying front porch so Sean can sand and stain.

Good morning everyone,
Going to heat up here this week. 90's most of the week & 100 on Tuesday
.
Barbie, totally understand you not wanting to go out when it is so hot.
They replaced my HVAC system on Friday (just in time!) I am soooo glad I decided to have them replace both the A/C & the furnace. The blower which is actually part of the furnace was so loud that I hated to use it. When they removed everything, they noticed the furnace unit had been damaged when it was installed - thus the loud noise it made. The new units will not only be much more efficient but are noticeably quieter. I had both kids while it was being installed & the guys were very sweet with them but I was fried by the end of the day. I need to learn to be a little less accommodating when I've got stuff like this going on here.
Olivia starts her summer day camp at a closeby montessori school this week. It'll be good for her to be around other children. We've started the search for a preschool for Jordi for next Jan. & found some are already full & even their waiting lists are full. Many haven't re-opened since covid. So the search will continue.
Well, I'd better get going.
Take care,
Catherine

Now it is late afternoon and we are heading west. We will drive until we decide not to and find a Red Roof. Player and Cindy came out with an Award of Merit. Cindy is floating home.

Tina, the end to a perfect day. Velda, great minds travel the same path. Lol I did search and found the time and temperature for small potatoes. The potatoes were perfect but the asparagus I threw in the fryer at half time was over cooked. Read a chef saying how to microwave/ steam vegetables covering with a wet paper towel. I wanted rotisserie chicken also for dinner and used the wet paper towel and that was perfect too. I had a very good day too. No ice cream, no ice cream
lol

Congrats to Player and Cindy! Shirl, I have fun experimenting especially since it's just for me. So far I've eaten all my experiments but some won't be repeated lol Others are go tos already. Velda, I put the recipes I like on my Copy Me That app. It's easy for me to find all of them there and I categorize them by type etc. For example if eggs or chicken or beef or vegetarian. And I have an air fryer category. So I can select chicken and air fryer, for example, and up pops anything I've saved with both those criteria. And it's a life saver for me on times and temps. My manager was asking me the time and temp for air fryer hard boiled eggs. I had the time in my head, but until looking it up was about to give her too high a temp. Of course, we know all air fryers can be slightly different but I would have hated ruining her eggs lol
Work wasn't bad today. After the one room checking out early yesterday another was a no show last night. My managers still helped, so I worked less hours today lol.

I do like Beth. I categorize my air fryer recipes in Copy Me That. I love that app as I dont have to read an entire recipe article as the app takes me right to the recipe. I love the One Dish Cooking site. Joanie has so many good recipes for one.
We have had rain off and on all day today. Love it. Wish it would keep it up for a week but alas we will be in the high 80's and then 90 on Friday. My squash are producing well and my tomatoes are flourishing. I wasnt sure because this is my first go at container tomatoes.
A lazy day for me today so tomorrow I need to get in high gear.

Sheila, if you were limiting me to only an air fryer or a pressure cooker, I'd have to go with the air fryer. There is rarely a day I don't use it. And some days it's used multiple times.

My InstaPot is the name brand by that name InstaPot and my Air Fryer is Cosori 5.8 wifi model. I use both a lot. Several times a week, sometimes several times a day.
My preference on hard cooked eggs is in InstaPot using 1 cup water on manual 3 min then power off and let pressure lower naturally for 10 min then release valve and put eggs in ice bath. Works for me and I never peel until ready to use and they peel so easy tne shells all but fall off as I tap to crack then roll in my hands. I thnk they stay fresh longer in their shells, sealed in the now sterile environment.
My Air fryer I am very exacting on cleaning, never let it sit this always easy to clean and never smokes, which seems to be a common complaint.
