It’s Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friday

Good morning all. Looking like a sunny day today or at least for the most of it. I should have worked in the yard yesterday but decided to load up the dog and we went wandering. Drove some roads I’ve never been on and saw some more areas and small towns I’ve never seen before. Everything is so green right now and fresh looking. I ran in and out of the isolated showers that were forecasted but never anything much. So today will be a stay home and work in the yard day. Only thing I need to do today is run to the garage to set up a time to get Lola’s annual inspection scheduled. I could call be would rather do it in person. That way I can see how they want to handle it with the restrictions changing almost daily! Sometimes I’ve needed to leave her and begged a ride to and from but the last time they did it right then so I could wait. Depends how their schedule is. Hope everyone has a good day staying safe and healthy.

Good morning Sharon and all who follow from beautiful, sunny CT. I joined friends ( all fully vaccinated) on three separate occasions this week! It seemed like old times. Breakfast in a restaurant with a Roadtrek buddy on Saturday, happy hour and dinner in a Mexican restaurant on Tuesday, and last night dinner with a long time friend and her family. Yay!!!! Can’t wait to hear some live music and see a movie on a large screen. Hope your friends are vaccinated as well. Enjoy today. Peggy

Yesterday went different than planned. Didn't get to laundry or taxes. I got ahold of the gal who does the TNR and she said there is a TNR clinic this weekend. I met her later in the afternoon to get a live trap from her that I will set up shortly here. After a stop at WM Market, I started working on a new gourd. It was a learning experience for sure! I think it will turn out good but some of the techniques I tried, didn't work out the way I expected. I need a couple more things for it to finish that I had to order on-line.

I need to go set up the trap soon. I don't want to get him too early so he has to stay in it for too long, but need enough time to lure him in. I will put it right outside of where he gets under the house across the street. I removed all the food from my deck last night so he will be hungry. I hope I can catch him and get him taken care of.

Shoulder is better yet again. I make a mark on my wall last week of where I could reach my arm up to before I got the shot. Right after the shot, I was about 3 inches shy of that mark. Yesterday, I was able to reach about 3 inches above that mark! Still a little sore at the shot site but it is getting better. Will work on exercises again today and hopefully, tomorrow I should be OK to work. I hope I don't get too slammed with my customers who have been waiting for me to come back!

Typing this, I realize I need to trim my finger nails! They are getting too long! I usually keep them pretty short.

Have a good day! :D

on edit>>> I set up the trap and saw both the white kitty and orange kitty lounging behind that house. About 10 minutes later I heard a scream and ran over. I saw the white kitty running around the front of the house, and the orange kitty inside the trap. Darn!! I released her and reset the trap, but I think now the white kitty knows it is a trap and probably won't go in there. I will keep checking tho, but my hopes are dashed. :(

2nd edit>>> Just checked the trap again. Fluffy black and white kitty in there. Must have had a fight with the white kitty before he went in there because there was black and white fur all over the grass near by. I guess the white kitty is gonna protect the food even if he isn't gonna go in there to eat it!! Set the trap up again and will recheck in another half hour...stay tuned!

Good Morning -

Well you have excitement today, Barbie! Hope you get the nasty cat! Peggy, fun times! Looking at menus online, it seems prices are higher. The highly rated fish & chips truck is in town today so kids and I are planning on dinner. Don't know their plans, but I think I'll eat at the park right there unless it's too busy. Sheila, no it won't be my mattress - that might be here mid-July. She did tell me this will be a lesser quality like for a kid room.

Didn't even plug in the heater last night or this morning. It was a great drive to Walmart, but shopping wasn't all successful so came home and ordered things online. Also realized the migrant workers are here as small busloads were shopping. Last year we were a little leery with them coming from elsewhere, but not so this year. I was in a roundabout when a RV decided he didn't have to yield! That was after 3 others including a semi had pulled out in front of me without stopping - all within 3 blocks in tiny Cashmere!

Somehow my kitchen is a mess so time to get it cleaned!

Afternoon All, I am no longer welcome in my old recliner. It has lost its stuffings or I have. Local furniture store said 5 months for a new recliner. A very large store an hour away has them in stock. I rode the country roads and found the perfect one. It will be delivered next Wednesday. Anita, so glad you have a move in date for your apartment. It will be fun making it yours. Barbie so glad your shoulder is getting better. Shelia, one down and one to go. Be safe

Barbie, I'm laughing. Hopefully the right cat will go in.

If anyone is interested or knows someone interested in workamping this summer, we desperately need someone to help me in housekeeping. The owners, after a very slow year last year, didn't predict this year being beyond busy. The managers are awesome but can't do it all and cover my days off, etc. I realize lots aren't interested in housekeeping, but with approximately 20-25 hours a week, this is very doable. IMO. So just throwing this out there.

Shirl, I'm glad you found a new comforter without the king wait. Anita, I'd love to head out for the fish and chips truck. Yum. I did get takeout in town here yesterday for a breakfast burrito. I had breakfast yesterday, lunch today and one more meal left from it!

Barbie, I think you need several traps! That way, after the wrong cat goes in one, maybe the right one will go in another trap.

I had a very long and difficult drive today from Winslow to Kingman, AZ. First, it was windy--borderline having to stop, but it took a lot of effort and concentration to drive fairly straight down the road. If you were behind me, you might have thought I was a drunken driver! Second, every single rest area was closed for construction the entire 211 miles! That ought to be illegal. I did stop once at a truck brake check area at the top of a pass, but did not feel comfortable staying there because there were so many trucks needing a spot to stop, so I only stayed a few minutes. I really wanted a nice comfortable place to spend at least half an hour.

I have done my taxes using TurboTax for the past 25 years, except for the year I sold my condo and "moved" to Ohio. Gave them to a recommended CPA who completely messed everything up. I ended up having to file an amended return the next year when I realized he had made several mistakes. And, Anne, it depends on which level of TurboTax you buy, but the standard one I use only allows a free eFile for federal. Have to pay extra for state, so I do what you did using an envelope and a stamp!!

I am here in a commercial campground for two nights because I have several weeks of laundry to do, but it is hot today so will do it tomorrow, then head out on Sunday.

Interesting day, good and not so good.

After the second wrong cat, I didn't see any cats around after that, altho it got very hot by noon or so. I kept moving the trap to a shady spot. I think the white cat saw what happened to the other two and decided "no way"! So will have to try for next month.

I got one load of laundry done, mostly my work clothes. I put some mozzerela sticks in the toaster oven and used an old timer for it since my main one was being used for my laundry. Well the timer didn't go off and I burned my sticks. Darn! Had to make something else for lunch.

Gave myself a manicure and pedicure this afternoon. I don't do much with my fingernails, just trim them down and leave them unpolished. My toenails get the works! Red polish with a glittery topcoat and I even put on sparkly decals on my big toenails! My feet are one of my better features so I like to make them all pretty.

Then I started on my taxes with Turbo Tax. Well, that went south in a hurry! I couldn't find a place to enter the Capital Gains and Losses for my dad's house. Then I got to the health insurance page. I had the form from the insurance I had in the first 4 months of the year. That was when Covid-19 hit and my insurance was dropped by them and picked up by another insurance company. Well, I didn't know that for several months and then finally got it straightened out and got on IEHP thru the state. So I have no form from whoever took over after the first one and no form for the one I am on now that I switched to last fall. I don't even know how to find out who I was covered with for most of the year. I will have to contact a guy I used to get on insurance thru the state when I first moved out here and see if he can help me figure it out. Meanwhile, I filed for an extension until I can get this all figured out. And I thought this would be easy this year! :o

Got the notice for the dinner out next week and it is at another very expensive restaurant. I have been to that one before and it is nice but I just can't spend $20+ dollars every week for dinner out, especially when there is nothing I like on the menu. Sometimes, places have good things on their appetizer menu and I will order off that since it is cheaper but the really fancy country club restaurants don't offer that.

So that was my day... :D

I got up with the best of intention of doing something namely moving stuff off the table and under it so that the table could be moved and the shelve put back up then reason set it... tomorrow is greatgranddaughter's b'day celebration she is two so they are having a party of some sort grandson is in town for leave not sure how long eye surgery on Tues so I might as well wait till I have hopes of someone putting that shelf up... doesn't take me long to get out of the mood... however if I'd thought about it I would have called the girl that did my taxes last year and had her file an extension and sent her my information... I did call her a long time ago but she forgot to call me back she is flighty sometimes... but have known her for many years I'd rather give her money than someone else...maybe I will give her a call or approach her on messenger
so guess I did nothing other than water plants and put a bit of water in the tank. thought I had put more in it... was suppose to take the twins to work but their mom got home so they talked her into doing it.... I am sure it is the last thing she wanted to do...
I think it is interesting the paper seems whiter or brighter... unless I cover the "done" eye then is somewhat off color leaning toward yellowish...
you all have a good day

Sheila, I spent the entire 2+ weeks between cataract surgeries, comparing color and focus difference between the two. I knew my vision was off due to the cataracts, but didn't appreciate how much until after that first surgery! It's pretty amazing , isn't it?! How are the drops going?
I use TurboTax. I started with Parsons, which was bought out by Intuit and became a much improved version called TurboTax. Around 2007 I took the H&R Block Tax preparers classes, passing with a perfect score and was offered a job, but said no thanks as their first year hours were horrid. We used to have "tax people" do our taxes, including a well recommended CPA, but I found so many serious errors, just going through the taxes after I picked them up, and he wanted to charge me for his errors and keep them another 2 weeks to redo! I said nope, you will fix it right now, it was your mistake (I didn't tell you to put the same income in 2 different places, doubling our total and taxes)! Never went back and we began TurboTax and I've done them ever since. Federal file is free, state is $19.99 or was last year. I've been procrastinating this year, worse than usual, but will finish tomorrow.
We had a lovely day. This morning I fixed son Chris eggs, bacon, and a big blueberry muffin for his birthday breakfast. This evening, a long time friend of his, met us at ClaimJumoer restaurant and we had a nice dinner, sharing about our past year and he about his 3 children. After, we went home and lit candles on his cake and friend Mike and I sang to Chris, then we enjoyed cake and ice cream. Chris enjoyed his 41st birthday! Overall lovely day.
