Unpredictable Saturday.

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Unpredictable Saturday.

Morning All, the sun is shining at the moment. We might have a shower or just possible cloudy. Does anyone else notice that most articles today say, might, possibly, could. Going to buy a Farmer’s Almanac. No real plans today. Going to get in my car and start driving, might just take a ride, or could go to the garden center, should visit my daughter. :D Hope everyone has a pleasant day but remember your umbrella. Be safe

I only worked a tad over 2 hours today. I'm starting to get a rhythm that will be better when I do turnovers and stayovers. Today we have 2 rooms booked, both will be turnovers tomorrow. Then I have to keep working on cleaning rooms in bldg b. When that's done it'll be normal based on bookings. Exciting, eh, lol

Shirl, I'm thinking of maybe taking a drive this afternoon. Hope you have a nice one.

Barbie, I love eggs, but cannot eat them in the morning. It's a possible slight allergy, but eating them in the morning plays havoc with my stomach. It's possible it's eating them on an empty stomach. But I'll have them occasionally for lunch or dinner with no problems.

I am still avoiding milk--been about 48 hours. I would say it is 70% successful, but IBS can come and go, so I am trying to be optimistic, but I don't think the problem is completely solved. Will give it more time before I try to cut anything else out.

Had to drive across the campground road to change sites for one day today. Then I go back to my original site for four days. Musical campsites, but I had no choice because I had to reschedule this place. These are funny campsites. They are very big with very nice gravel. (I would call it clean gravel, I think, although that sounds strange, but I mean very little dust and dirt.) Most important is that the roads are paved, which means less dust when someone drives past. The other NM state parks have all had dirt/gravel roads, so could not open windows and in one, you really could not even sit outside. It would have helped if drivers had slowed down, but you know how unreasonable THAT is!

The campsites are not the usual back-in or pull-through--more like square, so you have to figure how to pull in. Last one I did a diagonal, but for this one, I just pulled in straight. Will back out and back into the site across the roadway tomorrow.

Michigan is really having a rough time with COVID--huge increases in numbers each day. Sue, I can't remember, but did you get your shot yet? If not, be really careful. And maybe your wandering lens will move somewhere easier to reach by your doctor someday.

Also, even though I have driven north and east, there is a seasonal change in the plants. The biggest is that the mesquite bushes have leaves on them. Last campground, they were all dead looking, but these have almost full-sized leaves. Also, in some areas, the creosote bushes have little yellow flowers on them. They keep their leaves all winter, but this is the first I have seen them in flower this winter. Also found one cactus with small blooms and a couple of others with buds ready to pop open. Almost forgot--one yucca was in bloom, but the ocotillo still have a ways to go to bloom. Temps are in high 70s today, so perfect day!

Judy, the Yuccas and Ocotillos are both blooming here right now. And some small tree with yellow blossoms.

Am on break right now. Kind of a slower say so far. Looks like it has picked up some since I started my break tho. Doesn't feel like a Saturday.

Have a good day :D

Altitude here is 4,500 feet. New Mexico is tricky because when you compare places here at the same degree of north to places not that far away in Arizona, you find it is a lot higher and much colder. Albuquerque, for example is over 5,000 ' in elevation, about the same as Denver, so it is very cold in the winter, although much drier than Denver.

And until two weeks ago, the temps in southern NM were around freezing and daytime highs were in the 50s. Nice to be in warmer weather.

It's been an up and down day, rain and then sun, now it is cloudy. Something for everyone.
I've noticed several posting about issues with milk. I switched to goat milk years ago and really like it. It is easier to digest and no it has absolutely no odor:) I also eat goat yogurt. I don't know about the yogurt but Walmart here carry goat milk but I get it and the yogurt at the Coop because I really really dislike to shop at Walmart or any of the big stores.
I finally got Mitzi to our regular vet as she stopped eating a couple of days after she finished her antibiotics on Monday. She has a gum infection and has to have her teeth cleaned again. He said it was particularly bad on one side. So, since the first vet didn't diagnose the issue I've had to get additional medication and they are so booked he couldn't work her in until the 22nd for the cleaning. The other frustration is that if they had diagnosed her the first time it would have saved Mitzi being uncomfortable and me a lot of $$$. So far it has been close to $500.00!
I hope all of you on the road stay safe in the wind!

I need to remember the time changed and it's a lot later than I thought... I didn't change the clock on the computer and have just done a mental change didn't work this time it is actually 9:47
using the campground wifi its as slow as whatever... :o
not sure if I will crochet tonight or just forget it tonight won't be done to give it to them anyway till another trip down to Ogden...
Usually when I leave AZ things are blooming the only thing I really saw was the creosote blooming normally see the yellow ones blooming Joshua trees aren't yet and usually are as well as Ocatello say one but not nearly as many there is a purple plant that is usually blooming it wasn't I imagine that it is a lot the drought that is causing them to be late or not at all even the tree and right not not coming up with the name but the one with the green branches hasn't bloomed very few cactus  I love to see the desert blooming didn't happen this year...

Good evening. Am also wondering about Martha and anyone east of there. I saw that Pensacola area got hit by a tornado too.

Had a young boy come in for a haircut this afternoon. I took one swipe with my clipper and saw a couple things moving in his hair. Lice! I called his mom over and showed her and at first she wouldn't believe me. Finally she saw one moving. I told her I couldn't finish his haircut and she got really mad. I told her by law, I am not allowed to continue with the haircut. She wanted to know why I started it and I told her I didn't know he had lice until I started cutting (he had long thick hair). She left furious! Oh well... That is the first case I have seen since I have been back in CA. Used to see it all the time in Minnesota. So anyways, I had a lot of cleaning and disinfecting to do with all my equipment and around my station. I felt creepy crawly the rest of the day

Had a bad headache by the time I left work so I didn't do much when I got home. In bed now already before 11pm. Tomorrow is a shorter day and then dinner with my co-workers, old manager, and new manager. Luckily, it is at a sports bar so I can watch the end of the Masters golf tournament when I get there. I usually take the last day of that off from work to watch it but forgot it was on this weekend.

Some states are having another surge in cases now but CA is still on the decline which is great! We must be doing something right! Hoping it continues on that path. My friend Cindy said her dad's body still hasn't been cremated and he passed back in early January. They are still backed up that far with cremations and burials. So sad for her and other families who are still waiting. :(

Still was pushing 100 today but will be slowly cooling a bit this week to more normal temps. I have my air shut off now and my windows open tonight. Will be down in the mid 60's with a strong breeze overnight.

Good night!
