Morning All, wide awake at 6:00. There are things I could do early but always afraid I will disturb the tenant that lives below me. Waiting for word that Walmart pickup order is ready. On the way home going to stop by the garden center to see if lettuce and spinach plants are in. Will spend the afternoon on the balcony either digging in the dirt or just enjoying the sunshine. Liz, how is your garden doing?
Be safe

Trying again. I had message typed when Mandy cat nosed the screen and poof the message erased! Good morning Shirl and all who follow. It's a sunny breezy morning here in northern California. I don't garden as I don't often eat vegetables. I do hope to get some flowers in, however. Today I need to make some calls and recycle cans and bottles and boxes. And convince a Dr to do some paperwork on Chris for his insurance. Hope all have a good day.dinner tonight will be chicken thigh meat cooked in IP with onion, garlic and chilis with a cream cheese and cheddar sauce. Chris likes it over rice. I have low carb grain free noodles. So very sad about the Colorado shootings.

It was very windy yesterday and last night it really started blowing. It was making so much noise that it kept waking me up. A line of storms moved through here starting about 9:30 this morning. We were under a tornado watch for a while and there was some damage North of here. I think most of it has moved off to the North East. The rain gauge only shows a little over 2 and a half inches but there is water everywhere. The ponds are running over.

I cooked a head of cabbage to go with the corned beef yesterday and I'm already sick of cabbage. There is still a big bowl left. I picked up some bananas to make banana bread when I picked up the cabbage. I might get that done today if I don't have to take a nap.

Good morning!

Shirl, your little wind chime is so cute!

I have no idea why Belle was never passed on from Sharon. Belle could have a 2nd life if someone wanted to replace her. Not me since I'm off the road.

The wind kicked up a bit more than a breeze here yesterday - first I remember in this park. Sling friends in New Mexico had their Slings totally covered in sand!

Some of you may remember Donna Hyatt from a winter a few years ago in Arizona. She passed away recently. I cannot remember the make of her cute, somewhat antique motorhome.

Be well!

Good morning gals! :D

Another very windy day! Had to close my windows in the middle of the night because the wind was so loud it was keeping me awake! I went for putter's golf this morning not knowing if anyone would show up due to the high winds. There ended up being 7 of us but it sure felt cold (58 and cloudy with a windchill!). We fought the winds and played quickly. I actually played really well and won! The regular woman's golf league was cancelled due to concerns over golf balls getting blown into park models around the course.

Finally got Dave's haircut done. I have all my equipment from work with me since I will be working at the new shop for the next 2 days.

I need to do laundry today. Watered my hibiscus plants again. They dry out so fast from this wind.

I hadn't heard about the CO shooting until I read Velda's post. So sad!

Have a good day!

Good morning....barely. I see the sun out so off to Lowes and Home Depot to get soil and maybe a plant or two.

Anita Donna had a maroon and silvery looking Barth. She fought cancer and got a clean bill of health last June. Cancer returned in January unfortunately. RIP Donna

Karen, I couldn’t think of Barth to save me!

RIP Donna. I knew about the remission but missed that it returned and she passed.

We had a lull from the winds last night and through this morning. So I made sure we got a good desert walk this morning. Just as I came on to post I was going to say they were wrong about today's winds. And within a minute, I'm rocking and rolling again.

I got a lot accomplished this morning so I'd love a nap but know that means I'd be up most of the night. I think I'll watch TV and be a slug then try to be useful tomorrow morning again.

Anita, I was so shocked when I read that Donna Hyatt had died. She was the first person I travelled with and we’ve been in touch ever since. She even flew to Connecticut and spent two weeks with me. We last talked at Christmas and she was okay. Whenever I make peanut butter and banana toast for breakfast I send her a text. She had never eaten that before we camped in Quartzite. I was wondering why I hadn’t her from her for awhile. So sad. Peggy

I too am so sorry to hear about Donna. She was so kind to me in Q a few years back and invited me to her rig for dinner. I’ve often wondered lately what she was up to. Many will surely miss her.

Hi ladies! Although I never met Donna, my bff in upstate NY, Carolb, said she had lost a dear friend on the Women's Forum, which was the reason she left. I talk to her every week to catch her up on all of you, but she was so hurt by the loss, she thought it was best to withdraw. Although I've seen a couple ladies leave here due to death, that was actually the reason I joined, because of the camaraderie. She was a dear friend of Beth, but I can't remember her name, but loved all the stories I read about her. Her name just came to me, Sparkle.

It is pouring down raining right now! Yay! I can hear the plants and trees sighing with relief! :D

The rain has stopped but we got 15 minutes of good soaking rain out of it. The sun is out now. I took a nap awhile ago and woke up with the rain hitting the windows. The wind was still ferocious at that point but now it is perfectly still outside. Such strange weather!

Now wind is picking up and it looks like more rain coming...

the winds are here and gone again and back and gone... even had some sprinkles on the windows.... can't remember a winter when there was so little rain...both this year and last but think this year beats them all...
I had read about Donna's death thinking she was familiar but couldn't place her so sad to hear about her death...
from what I saw on FB when it came back it was very quick I am not even sure if she got into hospice before she passed away.
a do nothing day I am looking around to see what I did truly a did nothing to speak of day even in the term of itty bitty
oh yes changed batteries... the indoor outdoor thermometer needed new ones as did the flashlight that one is an almost weekly change... the thermometer don't remember the last time it was changed...
had to rinse out Shadows pillow he has been pacing trying to find it I think .... I need to go out and get it with the wind I am sure that it is dry...
right now I am hoping to leave middle of next week depending upon weather but last night it looked good... :? we will see...
the winds according to the phone weather app is suppose to be with us till Thursday hopefully will clear out then but I can on that only see about one and a half days I think not very long anyway...
saw a tex mex recipe the other day that looked so good... it had tortilla shells one on bottom of a spring form pan then some meat mixture another tortilla more meat I'm sure there was cheese as well and then a tortilla shell on top and bake then remove the pan it just looked so yummy
you all be safe

Irmi, Jean (Sparkle) was definitely one of a kind. We lost her in January 2011... I can't believe it's been 10 years. But many of my memories of her still make me laugh out loud.

Actually, I think many of us are one of a kind here. And, yes, I feel the friendship in this group. I wish Carolb would come back. She's a big part of this family and missed. But I respect her decision to do what she feels is best for her. Just let her know that she is welcome back anytime. It's nice to be among friends.

Barbie, I was lucky to get Ty out for a quick pee after dinner. Barely got back inside when the downpour hit. It's been raining on and off since, sometimes hard. I'm hoping I get lucky for a last time out with him.

I'm confused, doesn't take much but, Carolb didn't join the forum until 7/12 did she meet Sparkle somewhere before she joined? Was Donna a member of the Forum and if so what name did she go by?
I still laugh at some of Sparkles antics but the one I remember most was when she parked too close to the ocean and the tide almost drifted her out. She didn't seem concerned and posted pictures of the water surrounding her rig!
