Mornin' ladies~~~
Don't know about you, but I'm feeling older after 2020 with less hiking behind me. Won't be much more the next few months as I head back to Illinois to visit Dad, unless I can get to a couple state parks back home.

No news on the truck yet. Well bad news actually. My truck was supposed to be fixed last week, but the shop guy brought in the wrong truck. I'll check in later today to get an updated status.

That's my itty bitty for today. Have a good day ladies.

Morning Cheryl and All, nice sunny day. Going to be out and about today. Cheryl, I know what you mean about age. The year of pandemic has taken a toll on me as has another year of aging. I did take two doses of ibuprofen the day after both doses of the vaccine. CDC said it was ok or consult your doctor. OTC medication and alcohol before vaccination was determined to be detrimental. The media has caused havoc publishing everyone’s opinion. It was making me crazy. Early I decided to pick a couple of sources I trusted and I don’t read anything else. It is still early days, this virus is new and scientists are learning more each day. We can only rely on our trusted sources and ourselves. Be safe

I got home yesterday afternoon and got everything unloaded except my coffee. I have been out 2 times this morning and the coffee is till in the camper. It is 250 miles to the campground and I was pooped when I got home. I went to bed at 11:00 which is early for me. Friday morning I got my second shot and got on the road at 9:00. I really need to get a new GPS and some new atlases. The GPS managed to get me lost twice on the way. Sugar isn't a very good navigator. The campground still has a lot of damage from Hurricane Laura that hasn't been cleaned up yet. If they would cut the downed trees into manageable pieces the campers would help clean up. The storm that came through last week spawned a tornado in the campground that put trees down on two pavilions. I sure hope this is a better year and no hurricanes.

BJ had ask if the Sister's on the Fly still had the vintage campers. There were a few but most have moved to motorhomes and trailers. There were quite a few in tents. If you look on the Facebook page for "Lake D'Arbonne Community" there is a write up about the campout and pictures. The chamber of commerce really went all out for the group with goodie bags and sweets. There were fried pies which I love. I didn't go to the pot luck dinner or the dutch oven cookout. I have no willpower when I'm faced with all that food.

My arm wasn't even sore from the second shot like it was from the first. I think the needle hit a blood vessel because it stung for a while and I had a bruise later. I'm glad I got the Pfizer one because that is the one I wanted to get.

Last week when I went to get cat food they didn't have the one I usually get. I bought some from Walmart and the cats don't like it. The feed store dropped off 2 bags while I was gone so hauled one out to the barn. I hadn't been out to the barn since last weeks storm and there is more damage. The wind knocked down more of the metal the hurricane loosened. I will have to get my neighbor to help me move it to the road. I put my trash can out before I left and all the trash cans are still out. I'll have to ask my neighbor what's going on with the trash people.

On the way back from Disney World years ago I decided to go along the coast road and we stopped at a campground across the road from the beach in Panama City. It was spring break and the traffic was bumper to bumper with the college kids just driving back and forth along the beach. We couldn't get across the road until there was an accident and the traffic would stop.

Cheryl, I see your luck hasn't changed. Hope you get your truck fixed soon. The rug on my motorhome step is worn out and I never think about ordering one until I'm camping. I want to put Lexan on the screen door so I can leave the door open but don't remember that either. I don't know how many time I have measured the door and lost the paper before I got around to ordering some.

I had bought a corned beef roast last week and put it in the slow cooker this morning. Nothing like being a week late. I will have to go get some cabbage if I ever get dressed.

Martha

Thanks, Velda, about the warning about Ibuprofin and aspirin. My problem is that my left shoulder has arthritis in it and aches at night. Tylenol really doesn't cut it, so I will ask them how long the rule lasts. In other words, can I go back to Aleve after three days? Seven days? A whole month? I woke up at 5 am this morning with it aching like crazy and took Aleve. I do have some vicodin, so I suppose I could take half of one of those if it gets bad, but I try to reserve those for kidney stones.

Also, I am REALLY getting tired of wind. It seems like it is windy here every afternoon, except today it started about 10 am. So I woke up to rocking and rolling. And I cannot go outside for even a short walk because the blowing sand gets in my eyes and hair and is just unpleasant.

I have final exams to grade today and will turn in grades tomorrow, but then maybe I can entertain myself indoors with some reading for pleasure. I leave Thursday, but it is not supposed to be windy on Wednesday, so maybe I will go out grocery shopping at Walmarts--nothing else around here. Thursday, I plan to get up at 8 and be on the road as fast as I can to beat the wind.

Good afternoon -

I look back on the year and think, for me, the timing of a break was just right. I am such a homebody that I was content for the most part. As I now can get out, I find I don't really care. Still a little chilly for scenic rides. I do need to shop for new shirts/tops. Leavenworth will be nice for walks and just to get out, but major shopping is in Wenatchee. Until the senior center opens, there will probably be no social life. I do expect visitors over the summer.

Barbie, I know my patience with people is about gone - I yell at characters on TV! Cheryl, you just don't have the best luck. Hope they get you on the road soon. I am not big on news - too many opinions and too much speculation. Sheila, sorry the weather is messing up your plans - must be a reason.

Laundry calls and I have a book to finish before the library reclaims it.

Be well!

Hi ladies!

The subject Cheryl brought up made me think and will say that our lives really haven't changed a whole lot since a year ago. We still enjoy sitting out on our patio watching TV, reading, coloring or having occasional friends over. Since I love cooking, we almost always eat home and surprisingly, when we did go out to eat, they are still the same places with outdoor dining. So very little, if anything, has changed for us. We're not beach visitors or mingled with spring breakers, so they can still go where they go and it doesn't bother me in the least.

The good news is that the electrician came today and finished his end, so now the vanity light is up, all receptacles and switches that were missing are installed and we even have hot water! The convection/microwave oven needs to be installed and the hardware for the pocket doors are still missing, but we're so close to done! If any of you are passing through central FL, please stop by. We'll be here until the beginning of July, so Judy & Cheryl, & others, we'd love to see you!

Shirl sent me this pic to post. It looks like Belle atop a wind chime. It's too bad Belle disappeared.

The winds came back in here early morning. And they look to be staying a few days. Red alert here.

Shirl, I love your wind chime.

Beth, I've often wondered what happened to Belle.

Irmi, I thought I knew who had her last, way back when, but no one has admitted it. It was fun when the person with her would take pictures and tell stories. I was bad at it when I had her, I admit, but luckily passed her off to someone who was good.

I've been thinking about bringing my large air cooker in the rig, until I brought it in today and I simply don't have room for it which is why it never traveled with me before. I like my mini one, but, I like the big one even more. It came in and went back out and I'm fine. I think I'll eventually get one a size up from the mini for in here. Right now I have to stop spending any money.

The wind is down some after a horrendous day, so I think I'll try to get a walk in with Ty.

another windy day... should be used to it right??? looking at weather on phone here in Q it will be windy into Wednesday I am so tired of the wind!!!
the generator sounds much better tonight took a lot of gas almost a full can not sure how big they are 3 gals maybe... guess it was lower than I thought I usually don't let it get that empty not sure what happened
a lazy day but got done what I set out to do... which wasn't much  still have a plant in the sink guess I ought to take it out and put it in it's spot...
and need to close a window it's going to be cooler tonight I think looking at the thermometer it's down to 68 already inside and whatever outside I never totally trust it on the outside temp because of where the meter is at it says 71 phone says 64 I have it in the bay so it doesn't get lost but then realize that it maintains it's heat longer than the outside temp is...
gas has gone up over 3 dollars for regular gas and diesel of course is higher than that but still not as bad as it got one year seems like it was over 4 for diesel
Martha you have more will power than me  regardless I would have gone to the pot luck and dutch oven meal enjoy both
 used to use dutch oven's don't even have any anymore...
well you all have a great day stay safe in all these winds..
sheila

Was really crazy busy at work today. Very unusual for a Monday. My back and feet hurt.

Went to the zoo after work for the Wildlights of Spring event. Was very pretty with all the different colored lights up all over. Some were set to music so that was fun to watch. They were supposed to be for the Holiday Wildlights in early December but the shutdown happened the day before they were to start it, and the lights were already up for that, so they decided to do it for spring instead. The big thing for tonight was the big horn sheep were very active and close enough to see even in the dark. They have their own mini mountain that is actually a real rocky mountain and part of their original natural habitat. Lots of wild ones in that area. A lot of the animals were active tonight, mostly the nocturnal one.

The outside temp was perfect even after the sun went down and there was no wind until a slight breeze started up just before I left. By the time I got home, the wind had really picked up (always much windier where I live than on the western side of the valley). I am also sick of wind.

Cheryl, sorry to hear about the delay on your truck. I am sure you are anxious to get it back and get moving again.

Shirl, that is a really cute wind chime! I thought Sharon was the last one to have Belle.

One thing I learned from Covid and the shutdowns, is that when I retire, I need to keep working and/or volunteering. I lost all ambition and energy when I was home all the time. I need to have a reason to get up, get dressed, and be somewhere.

Have tomorrow off. Golf in the morning and then go give Dave his haircut. Wednesday and Thursday will be at the new shop at Walmart.
